Ibime: You know Salah injury changed the game. Madrid could not cope before that. Salah Injury changed the game really and that was because he centred the whole team around him. CR7 is the biggest name in Madrid, he did nothing last night and Madrid still won the game due to Zidane's master sub. Klopp is not just to be trusted with finals. |
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga) › Re: Fc Barcelona Fan Thread: "més Que Un Club" by sebod(m): 4:05pm On May 27, 2018 |
sebod: Congratulations in advance to Madrid and CR7. For winning the UCL and the next WPOTY.
Cules are pained by the deserved loss to Roma, forgetting that our games this season have been nothing to write home about. The only time we had a nice game in the UCL was in the 1st leg against Juventus. We have been awful ever since then. We have own-goal to thank for seeing us through the group stage, while cheer luck and individual brilliance bailed us out against Chelsea as we were completely outclassed and outplayed. Even in the 1st leg against Roma, we didn't deserve to win, all thanks to same own-goal. It's obvious the team has regressed badly under EV. The only saving grace for him is that we never expected to have a very good season as at the start of the season due to Neymar's departure.
Just like last season after our loss to Juve, I castigated the senior players(Messi, Iniesta, Neymar, Alba and Suarez) for failing to utilise their chances while others were blaming the coach. It's just obvious our players can only raise their game when playing against Madrid(little wonder some Cules were clamouring for El Classico semi). Even though the players looked tired, I still believe they could have laboured more to preserve the lead having been so lucky in the 1st leg against Roma. They just couldn't raise the game when it mattered most.
Lastly, I have been very careful to talk about the coach ever since he was hired. But, I have been worried all season against his favoured 4-4-2 formation which never seemed to be working as far as I am concerned. His insistence on playing same line ups coupled with his attitude towards some players have clearly shown he's not made for a top club like Barca. How do we explain having a tricky/skilful player on the bench only to bring him on in the 85th minute when you needed a goal badly? I think he's still flattered by the unbeaten run in the league, I pray that ends soon because I wouldn't want such a clueless coach in the history book of my club. He should just win the league and find his level.
As for those complaining about the PK awarded to Madrid, it's safe to say they worked hard for it. What did we do to force the ref into making a tough decision? Absolutely nothing! . When this was posted, I was called names for trying to win the heart of rival fans. Even Usbcable follow me argue(congrats anyway ). At the end: 1. our players raised their game against Madrid, what they failed to do against Roma and even Juve last season. 2. Our unbeaten run was thwarted, giving no room for the 4-4-2 coach a place in my clubs rich history book. And finally, 3. Madrid won the UCL again. And we are stuck with the coach at least for another season. Na to just enter prayer mode remain before these yeye people turn my club to something else. |

Eruditor: Let me say something funny;
United need to win their last game of the season to get more points than that City team which people said failed.
That City team scored more goals than this United team which everyone claims has improved.
Liverpool, Tottemham and Chelsea will have less points than that same City team that were "embarassed" last season.
Pep is a victim of his own success. In fact, when he wins next season with less points than the 100 he will garner this season, they will say he failed. You have said it all sir. He, indeed is a victim of the standard he's set for himself. |

pelvicky: Can't the players attack without the coach instruction. The players and the coach should be ashamed of themselves .
This is the season we should have gotten a Ucl classico final, destroy Madrid in front of the whole world at the biggest stage, messi claiming his rightful position.
They just blew up everything after leading 4-1.
gosh! After our loss to Juve last season, I bashed the players, especially the senior ones for failing to raise their game. But I could do same in the match against Roma because the magical tactician has already drained them even before the match. I still don't know the rationale behind playing the 1st eleven in a match preceding a crucial CL(when the league was almost won) only to rest then in a game before the CDR final. |

Eruditor: Barcelona fans, we are so entitled.
Only last season, We still garnered hopes of peeping Madrid to the title on final day and resented Malaga for selling it now we act like Winning a double is nothing because we got ousted by Roma.
EV has done well. We would try again for the UCL next season. I am upset not because we got ousted by Roma, but due to the way and manner at which it happened. Would you have ever thought we would be eliminated after securing a 4-1 lead in the 1st leg albeit fortuitously? Pique was even said to have pleaded with the coach to alter his tactics to allow the boys attack more, but what happened?..... |

If he likes he should beat Madrid 6-0 on Sunday, it's all campaign after Election.. Bottling when it mattered most. I have never been this worried and critical of a coach. Once he gets the unbeaten run he'd wanted at the end, he should just find his level. |

patrickmuf: So it really got to you that you had to quote me today... Anyway, unless you want to banter, you'll agree that Bayern performed better against Madrid than Pep's Bayern even when you take into consideration the fact that half the first team is injured. Even Madrid will feel the brunt if Ramos, Ronaldo, Kross, Navas and Benzema are missing against Bayern... I need no excuse bro, the emboldened is all I am after. As it was for Pep coached Bayern, so it was for Heynckes coached Bayern last night Leave story abeg, when we were lamenting after our eyesore display against Roma as we knew Barca is the only team that can stop this Madrid team, we were called all sort of names. Now that your Heyckes coached Bayern has failed us, you want to be giving us excuses why he failed us, and you think we would take that? We cant take it sir |

eyoniggar: We here at the Fc Killer squad thread seem to be quite emotional about the treble we all dreamed of, but didnt come to pass.(Sad) Our own version of the Spanish FA cup was not celebrated here by a single cule on this thread, knowing fully well that liga trophy is already bagged, while awaiting a mouthwatering whitewash @noucamp 6th of May. I wouldnt consider that "pride" , but for the love and deep support we have for this great Club. Not to forget the high expectation we all have season in season out.
For me, this isnt a bad season afterall, Double for the trouble Roma caused. Yet we remain Fc Consistent, FC win something, FC Barcelona. Baba, to be candid, I never expected any treble at all from the start of the season going by what we went through by the Neymar saga. We have crashed out of the UCL severally at the QF, so there's actually no issue with that. But, considering the way and manner at which we crashed out, I personally don't see any reason to celebrate over the copa. Our coach couldn't rest players for the UCL but could do that for the copa. I just can't stand it really. |

patrickmuf: Madrid are only in the semi finals and are up against Bayern, Juup Hynckes coaches Bayern, not Pep so anything can happen and even if they win, they still have the final to play for. Messi on the other hand is guaranteed to win La Liga and has an even better chance of winning another trophy (CDR) than Ronaldo (UCL) so your post was wrong on many fronts... If Real Madrid don't advance to the finals or lose the finals, all of Ronaldo's goals then amounts to nothing... Going by your logic, Barcelona have not won the league yet while the CDR is yet to be played. So, nothing is guaranteed yet. If you don't understand the point I was trying to pass, let's just leave it that way. |

sebod: What we have seen so far this season with the coach messing up each time Madrid drop points is enough to tell us that we are not destined to win the league. Madrid are leading us by 3 points while still having a game at hand. Neymar is not playing the classico and you will agree with me that Messi has always been a shadow of himself in the past few ones. So whose gonna bail us out against them? What gives us assurance that we would also win the other matches even if Madrid drop points again if what we have seen already is anything to go by?
I can never bet on Atleti again to win the UCL at the expense of Madrid, twice they had the chance, and guess what? They blew it. Poor ref decisions and mother luck have been favouring Madrid in the UCL in these past seasons, so I don't expect this year to be different.

patrickmuf: Barcelona is guaranteed La Liga and is in the final of the Copa Del Rey yet a supposed fan of the club thinks Real Madrid reaching the semi finals of the UCL all but guarantees CR7 the Balon d'Or title how exactly? I feel the comment was made just to garner applause from rival fans who had flooded this thread. If Ronaldo doesn't win the UCL and Messi wins La Liga and the Copa Del Rey, it will take a big performance from Ronaldo and Portugal in the world cup for Ronaldo to win it and this is fact... Your post is directed at me so permit me to reply you. I have been on this thread for years and there's never a time rival fans have deserted this thread. If we win, it's uefalona, if we loose, it's trolling galore. So, I wouldn't know why I would be posting in order to get applause of any kind. Almost all the Cules here have testified to the fact that it's only Barca that could stop Madrid from winning another UCL, hence, the incessant plea to give us Madrid even in the QF. And now that Barca are out after bottling a 4-1 lead, it's just painful to admit that Madrid are on course already even though nothing is guaranteed yet. We have seen Messi win the league and the CDR before only for CR7 to still claim the much coveted award by winning the UCL. So, congratulating Madrid and CR7 ahead is just a way of venting ones frustration after the painful and unexpected exit and has nothing doing with wishing Madrid well. We did same last season after crashing out of the UCL in the QF while Madrid went on to lift the trophy. Madrid seem sure to have a better chance at winning the UCL than Argentina winning the world cup. |
