Career / NDLEA Gets First DCGN, Promotes 98 Commanders by SeedofAbraham: 2:34pm On Nov 18, 2020
The Governing Board of National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) has approved the promotion of 99 Command Officers.

The promotion which was released on Monday in Abuja included Sunday Joseph Nbona who has been promoted to the rank of the first ever Deputy Commander General of Narcotics (DCGN) from Assistant Commander General of Narcotics (ACGN).

The spokesman of the agency, Jonah Achema, said that Nbona who is the Chief of Staff to the Agency Chairman/Chief Executive and Director, Prosecution and Legal Services, becomes the first Commander of the NDLEA to be so promoted to the rank of DCGN.

“Others promoted are 5 Commanders of Narcotics (CN) who are now ACGN and 33 Deputy Commanders of Narcotics (DCN) who are now CN. Promoted to the rank of DCN are 39 Assistant Commanders of Narcotics (ACN),” Achema said.

The NDLEA Chairman/Chief Executive, Col. Muhammad Mustapha Abdallah (rtd.) while congratulating the promoted commanders urged them to continue to distinguish themselves. “This promotion is in recognition of your outstanding performance over the years. It is expected that it will spur you to put in your best in the service of the Agency and the nation,” Abdallah said.

The promotions marked the final lap of the comprehensive promotion exercise commenced by the agency two years ago.

At the commencement of the exercise, 6 Commanders of Narcotics were promoted to the rank of ACGN and 5 others were elevated to CN, while other 1, 311 staff consisting of rank and file were promoted to their next ranks and 2, 788 others promoted following the general promotion examination earlier conducted.

More than a year after NYSC... no lucrative job showing forth still. It saddens my heart whenever I remember that getting job in this country is majorly based on knowing an elite as there seems to be no opportunity for bright minds without godfather... no hope for the common man who isn't born with a silver spoon. I'm presently at the point of giving up but I believe that the Lord is on the throne.

You cant reprint even if you want to..the site is locked or something.. if you try opening it now, you’ll see..just go with the one you already printed.. they won’t not collect it because of logo.. many people that registered early didn’t have the army logo on the forms printed.
But do we still reserve our initial Application number or it has been revoked/changed in the new slip?

Career / State Public Service Job Or Multinational Company Job? Which One Is Advisable? by SeedofAbraham: 7:56am On Sep 24, 2020
Good morning Nairalanders,

I've been having sleepless night recently as I've been confused in decision making due to the fact that I'm not well experienced about Job matters.

I presently got an offer at a State Public Service with GL 8 Salary Scale of 63k+ monthly (though it's poor) but with a rest assured constant Promotion every 3 years subject to success in Promotion Exercise. There's also hope that in the next 18 years, I'll get to the Directorate levels (GL 15 - 17) where the Pay Structure seems better with Jumbo rise compared to the poor salary structure of GL 7 - 14... Meaning that I'll have to endure till then before enjoyment start coming. Please note that in addition to Promotion every 3 years, this State Public Service don't owe workers salary as they pay in due time as we all know that Public Service has Job Security. Also, I hope by God's Grace that I become a Permanent Secretary if I decide to choose this path while enduring the Salary (I can switch to Federal Parastatals if the Job Offer comes up later though).

On the other hand, I'm about to get a Full time Staff offer from a Multinational Company (Headquarter is based in the US) with more than 120k Salary for a start. There's Career growth and the chance of living comfortably & enjoying life is cool compared to the State Public Service in terms of Salary. We all know that Private Organisations can decide to lay off workers at any time as there's no Job Security. Also, I don't know if Multinational Companies usually lay off only Contract Staff or they can decide to lay off Permanent Staff as well... Though, the Multinational Company have a Pension Scheme for their Staff & didn't lay off workers during this COVID-19 Pandemic as they were operating during the lockdown since they provide essential services.

I wasn't born & brought up with a Silver Spoon and I never pray to struggle in life henceforth as Poverty must die. I'm a Second Class Upper graduate with proven abilities and outstanding performance as I'm a Problem Solver.

I need the assistance of experienced Nairalanders as your advice and point of views with detailed explanations will be highly appreciated.

Bro, I don't know the year or month that the NDLEA began earning more than other paramilitaries in Nigeria. Their officers complained that their salary is the least among other security agencies with very poor welfare. So I wonder where some people got their information. NDLEA salary is poor and they are working towards reviewing it. A graduate earns #84,945.83 monthly in that agency. Afterall Nigerian Customs fresh graduates earn 86k monthly as at 2019 before it was reviewed and increased Aug/Sept last year.
So you expect their Officers to tell you that they're earning above 100k? I can't just stop laughing... Even GL 8 Officers that were employed in 2011 through the 2010 Recruitment advertisement never earned below 100k. The reason for the complaint about their poor welfare is due to the rigorous nature of their work in which is hazardous in nature as they believe that they should be earning more.

However... It you refuse to accept correction, I won't reply you henceforth.

Bro, NDLEA salary is pretty poor. It is below 90k. # 1,019,350 is the annual take home for a level 8 NDLEA OFFICER.
The money includes all allowances which have been monetized due to monetization policy. They are working on reviewing their salary.
Stop arguing... Accept correction from what the guy above me told you. NDLEA GL 8 (CONPASS 08) Officers earn well above 100k even before this new minimum wage. I won't state the exact figure due to the confidentiality of the agency on matters but that's just the fact.

What are you insinuating? So because he's unemployed means that he can't rally round his family members in order to raise 500k and pave way for his own personal success?
Abi na my doorstep him go come dey drop his monthly 300k salary once he gets the job? The fact is that it's something that he can afford without complaining bearing in mind the life benefits attached on the long run.

Ah bro, 500k, nobi small thing, the money involved is much but is it sure link
Doctors working in Public Service earn 250k+ as salary on entry level (the 500k that you'll see within 2 months of getting the appointment)... You're now claiming that 500k is too much for the slot the guy is offering you. In my own opinion sef, the slot is cheap from the view of the salary involved (even FCSC, paramilitary of lesser salary don't have such cheap slot nowadays)... I just hope that it's authentic as claimed by the guy. Well, you never sit down tire for house sha.

Nigerians and being quick to judge ehnn chai!!!

Believe it or not, she has recommended some persons and your incessant rantings won't quicken her to do it here, rather, it may even make her know the people she is dealing with here, that they act loyal when its in their favour.

What we should do is patiently wait till those persons give her feedback. If it were you, you would have acted more than witholding the recommendation.
As for the 7 job hunters that she's claiming to have assisted in one way or the other on this platform... Are you now telling me that they're dump to the extent that not even one of them could testify that her claims were genuine? Hmm... you better don't fall for the wayo until you see backed up evidences and witnesses from those that she claimed to have helped.
