A video shared online captured moment the student who was nabbed at Evandy hostel while allegedly on another phone and laptop stealing operation, was arrested and dragged into a car by security agents before he will be beaten to death.

The Deputy Provost of the College of Agriculture, Science and Technology, Lafia, Nasarawa State, Dr. Peter Aboki, has petitioned an Upper Area Court, in Lafia, over the alleged snatching of his wife by the Nasarawa state immediate past Commissioner for Agriculture and Water Resources, Prof. Alanana Otaki.

Dr. Aboki made the allegation following a case filed by his now-estranged wife, Felicia Aboki to the court, seeking a dissolution of their 18-years marriage, [url][/url] gathered.

According to him, his wife has been having an extramarital affair with the commissioner and asked that the court suspends the case until the determination of the alleged infidelity.

In her defense, Mrs. Abok said she was no longer interested in the 18-year-old marriage, hence her reason to seek divorce.

After listening to all the parties, the presiding judge, Abubakar Lanze, adjourned the case to Sept. 15, 2021, for hearing.

A fresh graduate of the Kaduna Polytechnic, Department of Hospitality Management has been confirmed dead days after her signing-out celebration, [url][/url] reports.

The student identified as Faith Favour had taken to her Facebook page two weeks ago to share a photo of herself and coursemates celebrating the end of their final exams.

Her demise was announced by one of her coursemates, Mhister Isaac on Monday, August 30 but he didn't give details.

A secondary school teacher in Ondo State, Nelson Akinsowon has been arrested by men of the Ondo State Police Command for allegedly sleeping with his daughter.

The victim, now 17, said her father began having sex with her in 2014 when she was 10.

The girl recently opened up to family members when she was asked she stopped living with her father.

Sources confirmed to [url][/url] that the unnamed family members subsequently reported a case of child abuse to police leading to the arrest of the father.

The victim’s mother, according to sources at Fagun Police Division in Ondo was not staying with the girl’s over ill- health.

The victim claimed her father had threatened to kill her if she exposed the affair.

The victim said, “My mother is no longer staying with us because of her health issues and my father married another wife. My father’s wife preaches to me about keeping myself from men until I am married, not knowing that my father has been sleeping with me.

”I could no longer bear it and there was nobody I could tell because he threatened to kill me if I expose his action.

“This made me to run away from the house till I was invited by the police to come to the station.”The suspect, however, denied having sexual intercourse with his daughter.

He said, “It was her mother that cooked up the story against me just to tarnish my image in the society because she is no longer staying with me as my wife. I never slept with my daughter.”

Police spokesperson in Ondo, Fumilayo Odunlami, could not be reached for comments; however, sources at the Fagun Division confirmed Akinsowon’s arrest.

The Deputy Governor of Jigawa State, Umar Namadi has announced the sponsorship of 210 indigenes students of the state to study Medicine in Sudan, [url][/url] reports.

Namadi who made the announcement during a visit by the president of the Nigerian Guild of Editors, Mustapha Isah, in Dutse, said the scholarship opportunity will help bridge existing gaps in the health workforce.

He said the students upon graduation, are expected to work in their various localities for a stipulated time, as the state government plans to deploy at least one medical doctor to each health facility in all the rural communities.

He said; “the students after graduation are expected to work in their various localities for a stipulated time.

”One of the cardinal principles of the government is to ensure the provision of efficient health service delivery in the state.”

Namadi also announced that certain measures had been taken by the state government to enhance its educational system by equipping schools and improving performance of students.

”Proactive measures have been taken by the administration to ensure that Jigawa continues to enjoy the peaceful co-existence of the people as well as the business community.

“The state government has done a lot in the area of road infrastructure. Jigawa is among the best states in terms of road infrastructure in the country,” he said.

Namadi also spoke about the state government achievements in the area of the provision of potable water, equipment and infrastructure in the Agricultural sector.

The President of the Nigerian Guild of Editors, Mustapha Isah thanked the Deputy Governor for receiving his team.

He said that “the Standing Committee of the Guild was in Dutse to hold its meeting and commended the state government for its achievements in the area of infrastructure and agriculture.”
