Car Talk / Re: Maintenance Tips For Honda Cars by SegunWamiri(m): 2:19pm On Jun 23, 2023
Hi, here are the symptoms evident in my EOD 2005 Asian model:
- High fuel consumption
- Pushing the turtle all the way to the ground sometimes and would still not move and other times, it will move with a soft touch (as at today, this one appears solved)
- Black soothe from the exhaust.
- RPM raising itself beyond 1 after setting it between 0.7 and 0.9. This happens after going for a little drive

I've changed the airflow metre as well as the injector mouth but these symptoms persists. Scanner reveals no error. Please what is the issue here??

PS: It was purchased brand new by the previous owner. Also, the car does not come with any O2 sensor surprisingly

I don't know if you have perused the updated WA eligibility criteria. suddenly ,I did not see the job contract clause for offshore again .In fact the while update was majorly silent as per offshore applicants except you read deep through WASMOL1&2.now all I see is job offer contract is for 190 and not 491...kindly help clarify if you have heard or seen this

Your eyes aren't deceiving you grin. That's the true state of things for now. The entire of Western Australia is currently classed REGIONAL. So you can tell that they are trying to make the place as enticing as possible.

UKVI is only interested in her recent work experience.
Visit visa is more strict than study visa for obvious reasons.
Adding previous work experience is an unnecessary documents
Just submit reference from your recent employer.

Hello guys, it's been quite a while on this thread.

Congratulations to everyone who has gotten offers and visas. For those who are expectant, I pray your expectations will not be cut off.

Asking for a friend:
In her previous UK visit visa application (which was refused), the agent only filled her most recent work experience - 2019 to 2021 whereas there are previous ones starting from 2015 when she finished schooling but the agent chose not to fill them in.

Going forward, in her proposed student visa application, would it be appropriate to include those previous work experiences so as to show that she hadn't been idle prior to the 2019 job thereby showing genuinty of intent as a foreign student? In my opinion, this was part of the reason her visit visa application wasn't successful.

On another hand, should she stick to that ONLY ONE work experience as held by UKVI? NB: There will be a 3-4 year study/work gap if she settles for this.

Your kind thoughts will be highly appreciated.

Cheers.

Good day guys, congrats to those who recently got PPR, those who have landed and to all other hopefuls, I pray that your answers will come sooner than you expect.

I've been away from this thread for quite a while now. I would be glad if anyone can fill me in on the issue of impressing the VO based on career progression by enrolling on a program that is similar to one's current work experience. Must this ALWAYS be the case? Can't there be a possibility of an intention to change careers as the reason for choosing to study an entirely different program?

Your kind responses would be highly appreciated. Cheers

Good evening
Please who has gotten CAS from Northampton university? Did they ask for bank statement before issuing CAS?
Hello, it appears you now have an offer from Northampton. Is it MA. Social work still? If yes, could you please intimate of the admission process. How long did it take from the date your application was received? Can you remember a significant number of questions from the interview?

I have tried sending you a mail but I'm not sure if you received it. If you did, please reply.

Thank you.

Please regarding statement of account, can I submit my online generated statement of account or I have to collect the print out from my bank?
It depends on the bank. Some banks (e.g. Gtb) have their online statements stamped and signed already and that's all that is needed really.

That's not true. If you know your rights and know how to exercise them, you'd have your passport in record time. Please read and take note of the procedures, processing times and costs stated on NIS website and work strictly with it.

If there is any deviation on the part of the office processing your international passport, approach a senior officer courteously with all boldness and wait for his response. If it's not positive, go on to NIS Twitter page right away and report. They'd call you latest the following day to come and pick up your passport.

This was my personal experience. So @ogg is right when he said we should stop empowering those guys.

Be more specific by typing in Warrington instead of Chester. Warrington appears to be the exact town in Chester where the school is located.

Go and file for divorce and re-apply as a single person

I don't think that the divorce option would work. Whether real divorce paper or fake paper, it won't sort it out. Can one divorce in proxy? If yes, that means evidence of how the divorce documents were sent to her abd and sent back to @junaid must be presented. Would they fake that one too??

It's hard to accept but @junaid just has to go to sleep and dream of another country until his spouse is able to regularise her status in the UK.

The issue of progression also seems to be a key factor so you need to address that.

Thanks for weighing in on this.

During this appeal process, I have adequately addressed this by sending them an academic progression justification statement which they didn't ask me for at any point in the admission process even though I had it.

Don't mind them. They are just trying to find additional excuse(s) abi were they blind when I filled the application forms?More so, the degree is in a different field from the currently held master's.

What programme are you applying for?
I can suggest some universities to check out.

Are you sure? I've been searching and can't find. Derby is next at 14,700 for the 2 years, Kent is 10,300/YR while

It's Social work.

PLEASE... HELP. DENIAL OF CAS
@justwise, @mimilyrics, @ANYONE

Good evening All, I have been on silent mode for quite a while now. That is because I have been engaged in some kind of tussle with my school - Liverpool Hope University but I think it's hightime I presented my case here.

The school has refused to issue my CAS after discovering that I have 3 previous visa refusals (US Visit, Canada study and Australia visit) after my first UK master's degree. This information was requested ONLY after I have fulfilled all the conditions - Tuition deposit, DBS disclosure/Nigerian Police Character Certificate, completing an Online health questionnaire, copy of valid passport that came with my offer on April 15th, 2020 and then it's time to issue CAS and they are messing up.

My angle of argument is that if they knew that past visa refusals is a concern for them, they should have asked me about it early enough in the admission process. As a matter of fact, they shouldn't have made me an offer in the first place. Why is it just coming up? Meanwhile, I didn't take my interview with Derby serious because I felt that I already have a SURE admission with Liverpool Hope.

Here is a quote from their email to me:

"It was noted that you completed an RQF Level 7 MSc in Management at the University of Hertfordshire in 2013 and that the MA Social Work course that you have applied for is also an RQF Level 7 qualification. When assigning a CAS to an applicant for a course at the same academic level as a previously completed UK qualification, we need to justify the reasoning for this. Having reviewed your personal statement the Panel felt that this was not adequately explained in your application. Furthermore, as you already have 3 visa refusals from other countries, any future visa application is likely to be scrutinized more closely, and it is felt that your credibility as a genuine student may be questioned."

Apart from looking for another school and possibly prepare for January/February 2021, what else can I do? Although I have been in touch with the Pro VC whom signed my admission letter in the first place, presenting all evidences and documents that the school had led me on this far, she is yet to give a positive response.

NB: The £5,700 tuition/YR for international applicants was my source of attraction/motivation. Therefore, I honestly don't know where I can start gathering more than that from at this period. sad

Either Etiebet's place main car park (not always easy to get into) or the car park next to the building, which charges N500. Both are safe, at least in my experience. As is usual with visa application centres in Lagos, there are touts hanging around everywhere offering every possible service short of actually stamping a visa in your passport, and given the crowds, the way things are going they might soon start offering that too.

I don't think it would as the name of the school is stated.

The ECOs understand that some foreigners might not be familiar with the location hence mistakes such as stating a perfect address can be overlooked.

Kindly give me brotherly suggestions/pieces of advice. Thanks. May God bless you.
@skymoore is right. You are not showing progression and that's why you are not getting the admission. What was your undergraduate degree? Perhaps, you could choose a master's program closer to this if it is significantly different from your MSc. Electrical engineering.

Also, explain in your personal statement how you regret initially taking on Electrical engineering as you are not finding fulfillment in your career.

Finally, there are loads of universities to explore. Extend your applications.

Maybe, maybe not. Even if the school has an arrangement, my utmost prayer is that we don't have to isolate at any point so that one can make adequate and appropriate long accommodation arrangement ASAP especially for those of us who do not want to stay at the school's residence. angry

This means that the 14days quarantine rule still applies as Nigeria isn't on the exemption list.

I have realized that the university owned accommodation is too expensive and would prefer to live outside. What type of accommodation would be ideal to secure so that I’m able to defend the “where would you be staying” interview question. For now though, I have booked a hotel around the campus for 2 nights but I know that doesn’t answer the question.

The information contained in the above link therfore is a pointer that you'd need to book at room for at least 14 days/nights

grin grin grin The schools will be keeping tabs on each country situation, I suppose.
I know that there are allowances for distance study in cases where students can't travel due to travel restrictions but intend to transition to face-to-face study as soon as the situation allows. When a student fails to engage though, sponsorship will be withdrawn.
You'd have to work that out with your school and it's dependent on if the student is truly unable to travel because of the prevalent situation. The schools might have different latest arrival dates to reflect the situation of each country that their students are from.

Yeah. I thought so too
