SamuelAnyawu: Enugu capital of Biafra? no heebadan is capital of biafra I like the man's spirit. He is a core radical. In 2013 they were arrested for taking over ETV and announcing Biafra's independence. However i must say that we Igbos need to redefine biafra as an igbo struggle. Wat we should fight for is for a referandum in only igbo speaking parts of nigeria. We are not landlocked as we feel...there is a river port in onitsha..we can dredge it further into an artificial canal so that heavy ships can come into Biafra thru there...besides london, paris, brussel, geneva are some of the biggest cities in the world and they are landlocked or having only river ports just like onitsha. We need to remove the SS minorities from this struggle. I believe that an independent Igboland, ruled by sensible leaders like sam mbakwe, sullivan chime, okonjo iweala, peter obi, soludo etc will be at least as viable as lagos state and as developed as ghana. Let us re-draw the map of biafra and make it an Igboland only country. The north might support it. Afterall they offered Nnamdi kanu a biafra with only 5 SE states. Joining other parts of Igboland like Anioma and ukwuani wont be hard.

Before u argue with me, try and make out time one Sunday and drive around Lagos; from Surulere to Mushin to Agege to Oshodi to Isolo to Ikeja to Festac to Mile 2 to Ikotun to Mazamaza to Ojo to Iyanoba to Igando to Egbeda to Coconut and u will see that Lagos has collapsed when it comes to road networks.
Lagos state inter city roads are all gone!
Most street roads are dead! Roads connecting streets to streets especially around Oshodi-mafoluku area, Mushin, Isolo, Mazamaza, mile 2, etc are all dilapidated and looking horrible and causing serious damages to cars plying those routes.
It is really really shameful that Nigerians cannot make Nigeria beautiful and stress free, it hurts seriously Yoruba people go gree? Fashola tried in lagos but ambode is reversing all the gains made...and yoro peeps here are supporting him cos he is loyal to bourdillion |

alhassanyusuf29: it's essential and important to lay down bare facts regarding the infamous myth propagated by igbos playing on victim card mentality regarding the issue of hate, loath and antagonistic tendencies shown to them by other tribes okay this should be interesting. The 1966 Nigerian coup d'état(igbo coup) January 15, 1966, when mutinous Nigerian soldiers led by Kaduna Nzeogwu and Emmanuel Ifeajuna killed 22 people including the Prime Minister of Nigeria, many senior politicians, many senior Army officers (including their wives), and sentinels on protective duty. The coup plotters attacked the cities of Kaduna, Ibadan, and Lagos while also blockading the Niger and Benue River within a two-day span of time before the coup plotters were subdued. The General Officer Commanding, of the Nigerian Army, Johnson Aguiyi-Ironsi then used the coup as a pretext to annex power, ending Nigeria's nascent democracy. It was one of the events that led to the Nigerian Civil War. Conspirators Maj. Kaduna Nzeogwu (Igbo) Maj. Adewale Ademoyega (Yoruba) Maj. Emmanuel Ifeajuna (Igbo) Maj. Timothy Onwuatuegwu (Igbo) Maj. Chris Anuforo (Igbo) Maj. Humphrey Chukwuka (Igbo) Maj. Don Okafor (Igbo) Capt. Ogbo Oji (Igbo) Casualties Prime Minister Abubakar Balewa (fulani) Premier Ahmadu Bello (Fulani) Premier Samuel Akintola (Yoruba) Finance Minister Festus Okotie-Eboh (Itsekiri) Gen. Johnson Aguiyi-Ironsi (Igbo) Brig. Samuel Ademulegun (Yoruba) Brig. Zakariya Maimalari (fulani) Col. Kur Mohammed (fulani) Col. Ralph Shodeinde (Yoruba) Lt. Col. Yakubu Gowon (Ngas) Lt. Col. Abogo Largema (Kanuri) Lt. Col. James Pam (Berom) Lt. Col. Arthur Unegbe (Igbo) Lt. Col. Conrad Nwawo (Igbo) Maj. Hassan Katsina (Fulani) Truth be told this is horse shìt. These people u called are ambitious soldiers who were carrying out their personal ambitions. They at no time consulted the ohaneze ndi igbo or any of our elected officials..there was no rallying of igbos during the coup. These guys all stay in west or north at the time of the coup. The igbos were well represented in the 1st republic and so had no reason to truncate it.Their motivation was not ethnic but personal. And its possible that it was planned by westerners who were not part of the FG. Infact Nzeogwu who became the face of the coup is pro Awolowo and wanted to enthrone Awolowo. Dont forget that from 1939 that Asaba was part of western region. So kaduna nzeogwu was infact a beneficiary of Awolowo's free education in the west and must have believed that nigeria would be better if Awolowo was prime minister. Dont forget also that shortly b4 the coup, FG imprisoned Awolowo on suspision of planning to over throw the govt. Is it impossible that Awolowo may have been in on the coup and that Tafawa balewa got wind of it? Your guess is as good as mine. the seed of discord, hate and animosity was first planted by the igbo's through the 1966 coup, which led to the civil war and chain of events till this very present day.. Nobody hates you bcuz you're from the lineage of jews(as u claim),hard working, blessed or "the fear that the Igbos may eventually come to dominate the northern political space which eventually will erode the powerful traditional northern elite power structure, ull never be able to do that, base on the structure and population of the hausa/fulani and other willing minorities compared to that of igbo if i understand u well u are saying that it was after the coup that the igbo hate thingy started. Wat about the popular Saudarna's interview were he was saying that he would rather bring a whiteman than hire an igbo? Were he said that igbo always like to be on top? That was 6 years b4 the coup! over 3m igbos are doing business peacefully in kano alone and other various northern states.. Take a chill pill!! there are over 500 ethnic tribes in Nigeria before you start feeling all important,it's not all about you people pls! over 3 million igbos that u guys kill anytime the muslim world start agitating. U killed igbos just to protest miss world peagant which was to hold in abuja. U killed igbos just because some dude from dernmark drew a cartoon of mohamed. U were rejoicing because boko haram started with killing igbos. I remember wen they bombed a bus park in kano killing tens of igbos traveling east. U hate us bro and its not just because of 1966 coup...it goes deeper u claim the sole reason APC elites were agaisnt GJ was bcuz he mainly appointed igbos
its a fact that igbos are the most tribalistic people amongst all the tribes in Nigeria!! ain't no sugar coating it,you cant dispute that, plain truth!!,simple..its only this segment of people that try to defend, protest and protect a politicain from their region no matter the offence he/she committed simply bcuz his/she is from that specific region..is like their the only angelic being since inception that Nigeria had ever have regarding governace
no wonder you prolly didn't see any atrocities the angelic GJ commit during his reign of impunity solely bcuz his one of you, even though the ijaw have moved on..hypocrisy is deeply ingrained in you that's u overlook acts, such as:
1. Army raid on newspaper houses 2. Immigration recruitment scam and death 3. Extra judicial killings 4. Occupy Nigeria protests and soldiers 5. Boko Haram killings 6. Corruption "stealing is not corruption"
do any of these sound familiar to you?
the basic truth is that GJ got botted and rejected in the polls, bcuz he was ineffective, bereft of ideas and incapable to govern, not bcuz he appointed majority SE/SS indigenes
other factor that made him lose out was the breach of zoning/rotation agreement between north and south, which made political elites, including his beneficiary obasanjo to turn on him I voted buhari in 2015...so i am in the best postion to say why people voted against gej. The truth is that the north has been voting buhari since 2003. But because of pdp and the fact that buhari had no southern ally, he kept failing...that was until tinubu linked up with him. Tinubu did it in 2015 and not in 2011 because he hoped to control gej...wen he couldnt...he knew he had to wrk against him....and with the north already in buhari's pocket, all tinubu had to do was use the media to magnify gej's failures so that other southerners can turn against him too...people like me bought it...without realising the ethnic power tussle going on. Of course now that buhari is making all of gej's mistake and yet people refuse to turn against him, it has become clear that wat happened in 2015 was an hausa-Yoruba lashing out against an igbo president. Gej stood no chance. kiss the undiluted truth and stop wailing The undiluted truth is that the north is winning now, for how long u will keep winning will be determined by the Yorubas. Whenever they turn against u too, then its over for u. Enjoy it now |

Many APC fooĺs will support this without realising the bad precedence being set by buhari.
Buhari has kept showing that he sees the laws of our land as mere suggestions...but that is not even the issue here. The issue here is the millions of people who support a man who has done nothing to move the nation forward but instead has done everything to jeopadise the little peace we still enjoy by constantly supporting criminals in his circle, fighting opposition blindly and treating his fellow country men (se and ss) as enemies. |

Curlieweed: SE is landlocked? Still propagating that old canard. Lol.
In any case if you check other sources, Holland is still the second highest exporter even if you consider only locally grown products. Actually, this is common knowledge and Nwodo actually asked the team looking at SE regional development to look at Holland in crafting a development plan.
As an aside, the charts you showed was about production not exports. SE is not landlocked? I know china is the 2nd largest producer and exporter of agric...i wont argue about it again with u. Its not the aim of this thread. |

Curlieweed: Regarding the highlighted, “appearing” is very apt especially just before the seasonal bloodletting.
You’re being disingenuous blaming people from the North and West for dividing Igbo speakers when it’s your Bini “brothers and sisters” like Onochie et al that have been shouting from the roof tops that they are not Igbo. I am only accepting their words.
For me, even if Igboland comes down to only my hometown Nkwerre, I wouldn’t care. Lichtenstein with a population of ca 50k has one of the highest per capital incomes (true measure of national success). Holland is the second highest exporter of agricultural products in the world (after the USA) their population density probably exceeds that of Igboland.
We need cohesion and singleness of purpose. Quality before quantity, not adding all sorts of people of very doubtful loyalty. its not true that holland has the 2nd highest agric import in the world. Holland is not even in 1st 10. China, india, indonesia etc are. As for onochie...she is one of those that say they are not igbo...wat about the current king of asaba, the former ohaneze president from delta? Will u discount them? U say even if igboland comes to down to only u town u dont care. Well we sensible igbos who understand the politics care. And that is why we would openly campaign for the inclusion of igbo speakers in south south into south east. With all ur e.g of leichester or wateva...the fact remains that the map of igboland is bigger than the current south east and opens up to the sea in port harcourt and we must fight to keep it that way.

Curlieweed: Maybe I am thick but it's not exactly clear how adding people of very doubtful loyalty to you region helps you.
The benefits of a large underdeveloped "land mass" isn't also very clear to me as I can't see any correlation between land mass and prosperity. Actually, there is more evidence for the exact opposite. Conceptually, it requires less resources to develop a more compact area. The beneficial economies of urbanisation are easier to exploit in an area with a denser population.
I think we should spend our energies discussing things that are more beneficial to us rather than drinking Panadol for other people's headache. I personally have no business with all these Bini people you're talking about in Delta and Rivers state. We have already "dashed" them our language (since they can't remember their original Bini tongue). What more do you want us to do? Na we born them? well i wont drag anything with u. It is ur right to choose ur own believes. But Asaba people are proudly igbo and not only Asaba..many anioma people as well. so there are some of them who identify more with their bini roots...so wat? They are all anioma and they all want anioma state. Unlike us in the south who play childish politics..the core north knows the importance of appearing as ONE. Just imagine if all Igbo speakers are in south east zone (including ikwere people). The south east would be a force to reckon with. Right now we are weak because we are as divided as fvck. The north and the west knows this and would do everything possible to frustrate anioma joining SE. Why are u helping them in that regard? As for development and small land mass, there is a reason USA of 340 million people has a larger economy than EU of 540 million people. Land mass and population are the 2 most important assets that make a great nation. |
Politics › Re: Anioma State And South East Zone by selemempe(op): 6:28pm On Jul 18, 2018 |
Curlieweed: I don't understand the premise of this thread. WTF do we gain from adding Anioma to SE.
In the first place your SE or SS and all the other so called "geo-political zones" are not even recognized by your scam 1999 "constitition". So what difference does it make if you decide to pretend that Benue or Rivers or Anioma is in the SE? Does it improve our lives in any way? Revenue is not even shared on the basis of "geo-political zones".
In the second place, the way I understand the principal argument for the creation of an additional states is to increase the number of states in the SE to achieve some parity with other zones. I don't seee how creating a state in another region and pretending that new state is in the SE corrects that inequality. well if u are igbo u will see reason. 1. With nigerians clamouring for restructure and regionalism, the 6 geopolitical zones will be legalised at some point in the future. 2. If 1 above happens, the SE will be the smallest zone....with large population density. 3. If we however have ANIOMA which is a large land mass, we increase the area of SE. 4. If Biafra is being discussed at anytime in future, then we would know that we already have Anioma...so need to attach the whole of non-igbo delta state..unless they come willingly. 5. With ANIOMA created and joined in SE, the igbos and ikwerres in Rivers will be more open to associate with SE. Bro dont think that Nigeria will always remain one and undivided...that is not true....even china divided (taiwan)...even ussr and yugoslavia, sudan etc all divided. |

PabloAfricanus: This is such a cold blooded declaration of unbreakable enmity! What? Are you guys for real? That is not an innocent statement at all. The thought, reasoning and emotions behind that statement is one of implacable enmity. You Aniomas basically started a fire that engulfed and almost wiped out Igbos, A people you somehow speak their language, practice their tradition and customs, I mean without any sense of shame or modesty you guys practically tell the whole world you lost your Bini language to Igbo traders whom you keep on saying you never had anything to do with! How did you then abandon your language to them? How did the Igbos do it? Are you forgetting that Bini has always been next door and till today Edo people have never spoken Igbo?
How come the first Igbo man who declared himself as Igbo to the British in Nigeria was Obi Ossai of Aboh? Oh, you Aboh people suddenly developed selective amnesia and forgot your own history right?
So you are saying that even though the whole civil war thing was started by Aniomas, and Aniomas fought for the Igbos including Nzeogwu himself, it simply does not matter or count. What counts is your "sentiment" and whom you chose to share "your sentiment" with. That's cold mennnnn. What matters is that you would rather be known as others who are not you, than sympathize with the only peoples you share anything with? What matters is that you do not share in the sentiments of over 2 million people who were killed, starved and genocided for nothing...all because they refused to point out to the rest of Nigeria that actually you Aniomas are not Igbos?
What do you think would have happened if Igbo leaders and Ojukwu had publicly made the same announcement you are making now?
"These people who speak Igbo, bear Igbo names and basically practice Igbo customs and traditions are not Igbos, Nigerians beware and take note. Nzeogwu, Ifeajuna are actually Bini people bearing Igbo names and so Aniomas are responsible for Jan 15 1966."
What if the Igbos had teamed up with the Middle Belt, Yorubas and Hausas to bring the war to the very peoples who started the civil war? I mean its easy, all it takes is a statement pointing out that the Igbos do not share the same sentiments with these Bini people across the Niger who have been mistakenly identified as Igbos just because they speak Igbo and all that. How about that?
How many Igbo lives do you think would have been lost as compared to Anioma lives, if Ojukwu, Okpara and Zik had publicly denied you Aniomas in 1966? You know just the same exact way men named Emeka Esogbue, Elechi Amadi, Bini men bearing Bini names such as Nwachukwu, Chukwuma, Ifeanyi are publicly and without any sense of remorse denying Igbos? Who do you think the Northerners and the Yorubas would have bombed when they came to avenge Ahmadu Bello, Balewa, Akintola and Ademulegun? I mean the Igbos were basically in charge of the Army, you remember that don't you? Who stood to lose? Do you remember that the Eastern Region had the oil in the 60s and was poised to be the richest region? Who truncated all that? Bini people bearing Igbo names and speaking Igbo remember? How come the 1966 coup was never known as the Anioma coup? Or I forgot, Aniomas were Igbos back then, but stopped sharing Igbo sentiments after the war! You guys are silly jokers
Let me show you why the joke is squarely on you Aniomas any way this story turns, heads or tails. In fact your denial or non denial makes absolutely no difference.
These quotes are from "The Political Economy of Aboh, 1830-1857" https://www.jstor.org/stable/3601659
The first Igbo peoples known to the British and whom they traded with and introduced Christianity to were the Abohs! Ooops, I forgot or rather Obi Ossai and his sons forgot to tell the British about the Lufthansa flight that lifted them from Igueben LGA to Igbo lands in 1397! I know of course, those historical records do not matter to a people who would rather "choose to identify" as others than their ancestral lineage. The silliness of the pretend game you Aniomas are foisting on yourselves is just phenomenal!
Igbos should simply cut these people off, they are not worth having anything to do with. A people who possess such volcanic levels of self hate and inferiority complex are a ticking time bomb. They do not even hold a fraction of the hatred for the Middle Belt, Yorubas and Hausas who collaborated to kill them on their own their own lands during the civil war. They have even forgotten by choice, that they suffered gruesome murders at the hands of the Binis, Urhobos, Ijaws and other ethnic groups who surround them, just because they have always known them as Igbos. They would rather deny anything to do with Igbo and then keep on speaking Igbo, bearing Igbo names and practicing Igbo culture and traditions, while expecting Igbos and the rest of Nigeria to take them serious. This level of self imposed confusion is what no sensible people should allow in their midst.
In fact, I think it's the Binis who should be extra wary of these shape shifting deniers of history and ancestry, whose sentiments can determine their identities. LOL, what a funny people u finished that Aboh dude. Igbos really lost a lot after that coup. And the fall out was handled poorly by Aguiyi. He should have ruthless killed nzeogwu and co and then made adequate provisions for his own personal security...knowing reasonably that the north would try something. When aguiyi was killed..ojukwu should have gotten the west and mid west assurances of solidarity b4 going to war. There was no way the north alone would have defeated the south. As for Anioma...me thinks its time we add them to south east. Even if many deny being igbo, with them in south east..we can re-write that narrative slow and steady |
