FL Gators:Exactly! |
~Bluetooth:I will say both. Just like what enjoyment1 earlier posted here; the Prison head, would have been the chief head here, who allowed his subjects indulge in this act. They (warders) would have really been actively involved in this. Remember, that they will be the same persons, that will allow Ogbuh entertain visitors, even outside regulation time, and enjoy same treatment like Bode George. The Prison head would have just given his subjects the go ahead, to do things THE USUAL WAY FOR WHOEVER THAT CAN PAY THE PRICE. |
~Bluetooth:Hmmmm! They are all guilty, based on the story. |
Otobroto:Hey, dont take it too far. When a person decides to sound derogatory, you will obviously know what kind of person he is. I tell people, it is the product of their home-training, that people always exhibit in public. What could make a sane man call his fellow man names, 'unprovoked'? |

Nchara:What makes them all Yoruba? The guy is a Super Crook, and that is all. He is now a certified crook, with registration or prison number as the case may be. Meanwhile, even if they are all Yorubas, has he not broken Yorubas record? |
eledesi:They should just remove their uniforms, and let them join the guy in prison. |
All the prison warders connected to this, should be fired. What a nation! |
This is the crook!

Super crook • Convict serving jail term inside Kirikiri dupes banker N12m By MATTHEW DIKE Thurday, June 24, 2010 A prisoner, who was prosecuted by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, (EFCC) and sentenced to 15 years inprisonment in 2008 over advance fee fraud related offences (aka ‘419’), has defrauded a banker of N12million from his cell at the Kirikiri Maximum Prison, Lagos. The prisoner, Ikechuwku Ogbu (alias Prince Eze), investigations reveal, created a 419 syndicate from inside the inner recesses of the prison, with which he had been duping unsuspecting members of the public. His forte is what is known in advance fee fraud as love scam. He advertised himself as an eligible bachelor who desperately needs a wife. Those who responded to adverts, ended up adding to the long list of his victims. However, the riddle which EFCC operatives are trying to resolve is how a prisoner managed to place an advertorial in the love links page of the Vanguard Newspapers of March 7, 2009. In the advertorial, Ogbu wrote: “I am Prince Eze, 46, from Anambra State, live in Lagos. Genotype AA, Blood Group 0 needs a working class business lady between 39-45 to settle down with on 07057928637 or 07085350598. Several women that were desperately looking for husband called these numbers. One of them is a lady, who works with the National Assembly in Abuja. After making contacts with her proposed spouse, she flew to Lagos, to ensure that others didn’t beat her to her prospective husband. She received the shock of her life when she landed at the domestic wing of the Murtala Muhammed Airport, Ikeja and no one was there to pick her. This prompted her to call Ogbu, who now told her that he was actually detained in Kirikiri Prison by the EFCC over money laundering matters, whereas he is serving a jail term. He told the woman to come over to the prison to meet him. She did. On getting to the prison yard, she was accorded VIP treatment by the warders and this gave her the impression that Ogbu was an influential personality who was detained over a minor issue. When Ogbu finally met her, he told the lady that theirs was love at first sight. He painted the picture of a blissful marital experience for the couple once he gets out of prison. The woman couldn’t believe her luck for getting a husband, a rich one at that, so cheap. While the woman was thanking God, Ogbu moved to the next stage of his plan to pull off a massive scam. He told her that he was a drug baron and that someone was sending $25 million to him from the United States, but that he was afraid of lodging the money in his own account for fear that it could be seized by EFCC. The woman fell for the bait, and suddenly made it her business to look for an account for the fraudster. Instead of returning to her station in Abuja, she flew to Port-Harcourt to meet her brother-in-law, a manager with one of the new generation banks and told him about the business. The banker immediately flew to Lagos and met Ogbu. And the story changed. He said the person bringing the money from the US said he would not release it until he came out of prison. The challenge now was for the banker to arrange his release which, supposedly entails bribing key officials of the prison service and the EFCC as well as the judge. He gave the bankers number to fake EFCC officials who were members of the syndicate. They started calling the banker, demanding for all sorts of money (in millions). And he paid. At the end of the day, he lost over N12million to the fraudsters, yet Ogbu was not released neither was any payment in dollars received. At this juncture, he realized that he had been fleeced and reported to the EFCC. The commission’s investigations revealed that Ogbu lives like a king in Kirikiri Prison. Although he was not supposed to have access to telephone, five cell phones were recovered from the unrepentant prisoner when EFCC stormed the prison last Thursday, June17. It was also discovered that he had been receiving huge sums of money in the presence of warders. http://www.sunnewsonline.com/webpages/news/national/2010/june/24/national-24-06-2010-003.htm |
desgiezd:This is a very reasonable post, and not the kind of Myself2 |
Myself2:You are taking it to another dimension. The issue was direct attack on someone else's post. In a forum, one has every right to choose a positive stand or a negative one. Why not emphasize your own point, instead of direct attack? ![]() |
Myself2:What is wrong in one airing his or her comment? Are you a judge? Why not judge yourself first! |
Kobojunkie:I wonder what made him generalize that statement? I am really baffled! What has Jonathan's govt done so far, apart from campaign posters everywhere? ![]() |

Soyinka, Fashola, Bakare Call For Fresh Voters’ Register Nobel Laureate, Prof. Wole Soyinka, Governor of Lagos State, Mr. Babatunde Fashola, the convener of the Save Nigeria Group, Pastor Tunde Bakare, and other eminent Nigerians have called for a fresh voters register for the 2010 general elections. This demand was made at a rally organised today by the SNG at Onikan Stadium, Lagos, Nigeria. The rally was to sensitise Nigerians on the need to demand for credible elections and it was largely attended by numbers the civil society group, politicians, students and members of the public. In his speech, Soyinka said that Nigerians have allowed themselves to be cheated of their votes. “Very often, people don’t appreciate what they have. You have a vote and allow people to snatch it from you. What defines a place is a lack of will. Over 100 million people have allowed a bunch of rogues to deny them,” he said. Soyinka said Nigerians are behind the new INEC chairman and President Goodluck Jonathan as long as they do what is right. Governor Fashola in his own contribution urged Nigerians to come out and vote. “I do not accept that it is not possible to produce a credible voters’ register. Technology is the answer. If it requires us 10 days to stay at home, so be it. It is one day that will determine our gain or pain –– election day.” The Lagos governor said that he did not believe that Nigerians need to deploy 20,000 policemen on the day of election as if there is war, but people should rather protect their votes. The SNG convener, Bakare, made a similar call for a fresh voters’ register. He said this is the time for younger Nigerians to participate in the election of their representatives. Other speakers like former FCT minister, Mallam Nasir El-Rufai, Publisher of Ovation Magazine, Dele Momodu, Joe Okei-Odumakin, Mr. Ayo Opadokun, Prof. Pat Utomi, Chief Bisi Akande, and Gen. Alani Akinriade called for fresh voters register, a free and fair election and condemned the shenanigans in the National Assembly. Also present at the occasion were artistes, Daddy Showkey and Rooftop Mcs, who thrilled and encouraged the audience with their songs. http://pmnewsnigeria.com/2010/06/23/soyinka-fashola-bakare-call-for-fresh-voters%E2%80%99-register/ |

FG to sack 50,000 workers •Plans after service training for those to be affected Written by Clement Idoko, Abuja Tuesday, 01 June 2010 THE Federal Government may have resolved to lay off over 50,000 of its workers in the next three months in line with the ongoing reform in the Federal Civil Service. A source close to the office of the Head of Civil Service of the Federation told the Nigerian Tribune that the process of collation of names of the workers in the mass sack had been ongoing. It was gathered that the workers to be mostly affected are in the executive cadre, and to perfect the plan, the source said the Head of Civil Service of the Federation, Mr. Stephen Oronsaye, had issued a circular to compile the data of the affected staff. Besides, it was gathered that Oronsaye had inaugurated a committee to advise him on how to reposition the Executive Officer cadre in the Federal Civil Service as part of efforts to reinvigorate the service for effective performance and efficient service delivery. The head of service, in the circular with reference number HCSF/CMO/RCM/106, dated April 7, 2010, entitled, “Repositioning the executive officer cadre in the federal service” and signed by one M. Zakari, stated that “the head of the civil service of the federation has appointed a committee to advise him on how to deal with the multifarious problems associated with the Executive Officer Cadre in line with ongoing reforms of the federal civil service.” It was also gathered that forms were attached to the circular sent to ministries, departments and agencies, to serve as template for documentation of relevant information on the affected personnel. The circular, which is already causing apprehension among the affected staff, further said “the exercise will require ministries, departments and agencies to provide information on executive officers to the Committee on the biodata on all categories of executive officers in all MDAs in the template attached herewith; the number of executive officers needed in each MDA according to a given format.” Apart from alleged redundancy and in effectiveness in the discharge of duties, the source said “The exercise was meant to totally reduce the number of diploma holder, either National Diploma (ND) or Higher National Diploma (HND) in the civil service,” adding that government was planning to engage them in post service training that would help them get integrated into the business after service.” Some directors and permanent secretaries were similarly eased out of office early this year following the implementation of the new policy of eight-year office tenure in line with the ongoing public service reform. But this is coming even when the government is still struggling with the payment of the backlog of the severance package and pension arrears of about 30,000 workers affected in the right-sizing exercise of the last administration under former President Olusegun Obasanjo. Reacting to the development when contacted on his mobile phone, the Deputy Director in charge of Press and Public Relations in the Office of the Head of Civil Service, Mr. Tope Ajakaye, denied knowledge of such plans to sack workers. He, however, said that he was aware of a committee that was set up by the Head of Service on how to reposition the executive officers’ cadre, and that the intention was not to lay off workers but how to strengthen the capacity of the workers. He said: “There is no truth in what you have said. I’m not aware of any such plans.” http://www.tribune.com.ng/index.php/front-page-news/6220-fg-to-sack-50000-workers-plans-after-service-training-for-those-to-be-affected |
