Pennywise:Why didn't the doctors sit the parents down, and explain all the above and the need for the mother to always bring the baby for follow-up? Why did they have to explain this to Public Defenders, instead of the mother?. Had it been all these processes where duly followed, the situation wouldn't have degenerated to this. They doctors had an interior motive initially, before later admitting to this. |
desgiezd:Please tell us, because it has been 10 years I went there, and might not be going there soon!. |
mbulela:I wonder why a man like that can still be bl***ching. Anyway, it is a personal issue. Talkiing governance, the man has failed in his capacity, while his colleague in Lagos at least is doing something no matter how gigantic or small. My only problem is, will he finish all this projects? We are only fortunate that Fashola came to continue what Tinubu started. What if it was Obanikoro that won? |
Ujujoan:What do you expect from a frustrated woman? I know for sure, that he who refuses to listen to the cries of the poor and the oppressed, will someday cry out, and not be heard!. |
Fhemmmy:Indeed good news, but are these big projects not too many, considering the time limits left for Fashola? Anyway, he will win a second term in Lagos. |

Sonofpeace:This is really bad. This should not be happening in 2010. I expected more from these medical guys, not this, and worse of it all, mismanaging the situation. Even a probe panel and adequate compensation, will never be enough for this inhuman act!. We are talking about a human life here, please. |
Fashola is at it again. I just hope all these gigantic projects come to reality, and Lagos will be better for it. |
Lagos Plans N60 Billion Alternative Road To Ikorodu Ikorodu Road Lagos The Lagos State government is proposing a N60 billion alternative route to link Ishawo to Ikorodu in order to decongest the daily traffic gridlock in the area. The proposed road is under the Public-Private Partnership (PPP) programme of the state government and is expected to be built by foreign investors. Mr. Ayo Gbeleyi, Director-General, Lagos State PPP Office, said the project is expected to increase the real estate potential along the Ikorodu axis and reduce considerably the number of man-hours spent on the road. According to him, the road would be built in four phases and the indicative cost of the project is N60 billion. “The road will be tolled and include a bridge. Preliminary feasibility studies, design and detail drawings have been submitted,” he added. In the area of housing, Gbeleyi said the state wanted investors to partner with it, as government has provided opportunities for affordable housing as well as enabling housing supply. “Government has initiated programmes to promote housing demands by providing land subsidy to private developers and providing home buyers initiative,” he said. He also spoke on the proposed Alausa Greenfield Captive Power Generation Project which is expected to generate 7.5 megawatts of electricity to illuminate the Lagos State government’s seat of power. The project is scalable to 12.5 megawatts. A 10-15 year Power Purchase Agreement is to be signed between the state and concessionaire. http://pmnewsnigeria.com/2010/05/06/lagos-plans-n60-billion-alternative-road-to-ikorodu/#comment-680 |
These doctors are wicked. They all need to be prosecuted, and their licences withdrawn. What kind of mistake is that? |
namski:When you hear billions being mentioned, you wished they could be translated into modern infrastructure, employment and the good and betterment of us all. |

Check this thread and similar ones, anyone that calls anybody daft or retarded, is actually referring to himself. Some of their posts are actually uncalled for. Read them word for word, and you will get the message. This is not all about Ibori's status, which is no longer news, but even the points raised to support it. I am baffled at some posts here. May GOD deliver us. |

Jesus Christ: AC attacks Obasanjo MONDAY, 03 MAY 2010 00:00 VICTOR ORIOLA The Action Congress (AC) has described as blasphemous, uncouth and unbecoming of a self-acclaimed born again Christian the statement credited to former President Olusegun Obasanjo that not even Jesus Christ can organise free and fair elections in Nigeria. In a statement issued in Lagos yesterday by its National Publicity Secretary, Alhaji Lai Mohammed, the party said the painfully flippant, highly insensitive and deludedly messianic former President may be stretching his fabled luck too far by blaspheming against Jesus. “To paraphrase world class author Prof Chinua Achebe, Obasanjo may have had his palm kernels cracked for him all along by a benevolent spirit, but we must warn that that spirit may not back him now that he seems to have challenged his ‘chi’ - or personal god - to a fight, so to say!” it said. AC said contrary to Obasanjo’s postulations, Nigeria is capable of organising free, fair and credible polls. “The 1993 presidential election is widely acknowledged to be free, fair and credible, and was not organised by a spirit, but by a human being, a Nigerian named Prof. Humphrey Nwosu. “However, that election was annulled and Nigerians have not forgotten Obasanjo’s role in the annulment, especially his statement that was meant to pull the carpet off the feet of the acclaimed winner: That Abiola is not a Messiah!,” the party said. It said Obasanjo’s statement also trivialised the ongoing clamour for electoral reform, saying unless politicians are reformed, electoral reform will be meaningless. “Again, we say Obasanjo got it all wrong by taking electoral reform on the superficial level. Our answer to him is that electoral reform is all encompassing. It involves strengthening institutions. Of course, strong institutions will checkmate crooked as well as do-or-die politicians,” AC said The party said since Obasanjo has missed, forever, the opportunity to preside over free and fair elections in Nigeria, he should not discourage those who want to write their names in gold by ensuring that the next general elections in 2011 are free, fair, credible and violence-free. “Obasanjo, as President, presided over the worst elections in Nigeria’s history. Obasanjo, as President, appointed the most biased and incompetent electoral umpire in Nigeria’s history. Therefore, we have nothing to learn from this self-important former President and he should leave Nigerians alone as they seek to chart a better electoral path for themselves. “Our prayer is that Obasanjo will live long enough to be put to shame by the organisation of an election that the whole country and the entire world will acknowledge as free and fair. Ghana has done it without conjuring a spirit. Ditto South Africa and many other African nations. Nigeria will not be an exception,” AC said. http://www.compassnewspaper.com/NG/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=47328:jesus-christ-ac-attacks-obasanjo&catid=672:top-stories&Itemid=794 |

Crude Oil:How I wished, BABA GOD will revisit the script he wrote about Nigeria, and help us from this mess. Anyway, I hope this movie called Nigeria will not end in tragedy, because it will be too disastrous. Too many dead woods, called actors. The one that annoys me most in this movie is that, even those actors that have been shot dead (IBB, Buhari, OBJ, Gusua) still came back to life, and are now making case for the lead roles (IBB and Buhari). BABA GOD, na like dis we go dey dey? |

Woman breaches security at Lagos airport Latest NewsApr 30, 2010 By Kenneth Ehigiator LAGOS—The Murtala Muhammed Airport, Ikeja, Lagos, has again suffered a security breach, as a woman sneaked through a private terminal to board an Abuja-bound Aero Contractor flight without ticket. It was learnt that the breach has compelled security agencies at the airport to stop most of the charter operators using the terminal from operating therefrom. A source told Vanguard that the woman, who is currently being held by Air Force Police, was said to have walked by the new terminal of the airport (MMA2) last week, moved through the Air Force-guarded hangar housing the NAFIS Unit of the Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority, and Kings Air, to gain access to the air side and MMA2 tarmac. Having accessed the tarmac, the woman headed for the Abuja-bound plane and boarded. It took the alertness of the airlines’ ground staff at the tarmac to apprehend the woman and her handed over to airport security personnel, who immediately alerted Nigerian Air Force personnel at the private terminal. The action of the woman is said to have resulted in the closure of the hangar and termination of operations of charter operators flying from the private terminal. Staff of the NAFIS Unit of NCAA are said to be having problems accessing their offices since the incident happened last week. VIPs who patronise charter operators have had to now shift their movement to the Presidential Wing of the airport where airplanes of the operators are taken to for their flight. Former Vice-President, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, was reportedly caught in the shut down of the private terminal last Sunday and had to fly out through the presidential wing. Alhaji Atiku has not, since leaving office in 2007, flown through the presidential wing of the airport. Former Governor of Lagos State, Senator Bola Tinubu and Managing Director of UBA Plc, Mr. Tony Elumelu, are among the personalities who have in the past week relied on the presidential wing to embark on their trips into and outside Lagos. Vanguard also observed yesterday that most of the pilots whose operations revolve around the shut private terminal now use the car park of the presidential wing for their parking purposes, just as staff of Kings Air and NCAA’s NAFIS Unit now use the entrance leading to the fire department of the Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN) to access their offices via the air side. FAAN’s General Manager, Public Affairs, Mr. Akin Olukunle, told Vanguard on the telephone that he heard about the incident, but claimed not to have the details. http://www.vanguardngr.com/2010/04/30/woman-breaches-security-at-lagos-airport/ |
I guess, this is the real heart of OBJ. To install Jonathan. |

Presidency Never Zoned To North – Obasanjo •Says It’s Up To Jonathan To Run In 2011 By Chinedu Offor Correspondent, Washington DC The drum beat is sounding louder for Acting President Goodluck Jonathan to go the whole hog and run for President next year. Former President Olusegun Obasanjo raised the ante on Thursday; arguing across the Atlantic in Washington that the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) never zoned the Presidency to any region. “The President can come from any part of the country, and nothing in the Constitution says he must come from a certain part of the country,” he told the Voice of America. He reiterated that Acting President Goodluck Jonathan “says he wants to focus on moving the country forward,” and “I think Nigerians should support him to do that. The decision to run or not is his to make. “He should not be distracted from the huge task he is faced with.” Until now, what was bandied about was the agreement in the PDP, which is not in the Nigerian Constitution, that the Presidency and principal posts in the National Assembly (NASS) should rotate between the North and South. Particularly, going by the deal, the Presidency will rotate between the North and South every eight years, on the back of the two-tenure term Obasanjo, a Southerner, served in the Villa from 1999 to 2007. Umaru Yar’Adua, from the North, took over as President on May 27, 2007, but has since November 23, 2009 got off the stage through ill health, paving the way for Jonathan to be in charge, albeit in an acting capacity. The crisis in the PDP is expected, Obasanjo clarified, because of the different personalities of its officials and members. Obasanjo, who visited Washington on a private business, also credited himself with “the democratic progress” made by Nigeria since he left office. “(Jonathan) is from a minority tribe (from the South South) and the number three citizen, the Senate President (David Mark), is from a minority tribe from the Middle Belt. “Ordinarily these ethnic groups may not have been able to produce such senior elected officials if it were not for the democratic decisions I took,” he stressed. To him, insecurity, especially armed robbery, kidnapping, and violence are not peculiar to Nigeria. “Other countries have their own problems, the killings in Jos is not religious or ethnic, as people want the world to believe. It is just borne out of frustration because of poverty and disagreement over land.” Obasanjo again defended picking ailing Yar’Adua to succeed him, but admitted he may not have done a thorough background check on him when he was Katsina State Governor. “I saw Umoru through the prism of his elder brother, Shehu, who was a close friend and loyal officer. If he had lived, he would have been my Vice President because we were very close.” He said Yar’Adua has the temperament and vision to be President but that he had no idea his health could not withstand the rigors of the job. “The job of President is very rigorous, especially in a country like Nigeria. I received assurances from at least three medical experts who said although he has had dialysis, his health was strong enough to perform his duties.” Obasanjo criticised those who said he actively sought a third term while in office. “I never wanted a third term in office. As an officer, I gave my word on two terms. I handed over power to Shehu Shagari (in 1979), contrary to the advice of several African Heads of State, so there was no way I could have worked for a third term. “There is still life after the Presidency.” http://independentngonline.com/DailyIndependent/Article.aspx?id=12834 |
