I think, until a more stiffer law is made against acts like these, desparados will still exist amongst us. Let someone be Sharialised, and many will learn and think twice, before engaging in such. By the way, just as someone said, what did they need the guy for?

CrimeImo Police Rescue Teenager Sold By His Brothers For N500,000. by selingel(op): 9:53am On Aug 24, 2011
The Imo State police command, at the weekend, rescued a teenage boy of about 16 years old, who was ab ducted from Lagos by two of his brothers and sold to the wife of a pastor.

The state Police Public Relations Officer, (PPRO) Mr Linus Nwaiwu, who briefed newsmen, gave the names of the suspects as Simon Nwaogwugu and Ugonna Okoro of Eziama Obiato in Mbaitoli Local Government Area of Imo State.

According to him, the teenage boy, whose identity was being withheld, was sold to one Rita Anujuo of Emeabiam Azara Obiato, also of Mbaitoli Local Government.

Nigerian Tribune, at the arena where the buyer was paraded, reported that the buyer had paid the sum of N300,000 as advance payment out of a N500,000 bid.

Reports reaching from Owerri, said the buyer had promised the kidnappers that she would effect the payment of the balance in few days.

Meanwhile, the command is making the Nigerian Tribune efforts to ensure the arrest of Simon and Ugonna, who fled on sighting police team.

This is hilarious. Do they think mikel owns central bank? Buncha unreasonable thieving thiefs. Thank God they were caught. Bastardos.
Why wouldnt they demand for their share, when every sector of the economy is infested with corruption. They shouldnt have gone for Obi (Senior). That family is just trying to fend for themselves. They should have aimed at the current President, ex-Presidents etc. They would have just driven so many bullion vans to their hide-out. Shekinah!.

It is now official, that Mikel Obi's kidnappers  demanded N600billion, lol.
Even Federal Govt wouldnt have been able to pay this ransome.

Please dont start that Ibo, Yoruba thread here. We all should celebrate the release of an innocent man, whom men of the underworld, wanted to make quick and cheap money from.
I just pity the lady amongst them, because she will be USED, by all, before she is eventually sentenced.
As for the Police Force, I urge them to do same for the ordinary man on the street, and our nation will be better for it.

Sometimes, I wonder why we dont eventually see every investigation to a logical end in this nation to serve as a detrrent to issues like this? Now an ex-Police officer is involved, and there is suspicion that, those arrested in Kano might just be either serving military men, or ex. Most annoying is the presence of a lady. I thought this was mostly associated with the Yorubas (considering the rate of women's involvement in one chance), but the name Nkechi, is now making me think otherwise. (Please not out for any tribe). It is well.

Please help copy the fully text on the topic, and post here for all to read. Thanks.

Anyone against this bill, should have his head examined. Anyhow it is, lets start somewhere! It is better than the N85o,ooo per annum, that is being collected today, and they barge into peoples' homes, under the guise that, they want to inspect fake and inferior gadgets installed by their useless land-developers. Once again, whoever is against this bill, is one of those shylock landlords, or is related to one.

Maybe I am blind. Please can someone read the topic again to my ears? I read, "Ramadan" and "six weeks recess" in the post. Is the recess not religously motivatd? My guy attend to issues, and dont divert. I hope, I didnt sound insulting?
PoliticsRe: Nigerian Legislators On 6 Weeks Recess For Ramadan - Good/Bad? by selingel: 5:56pm On Aug 02, 2011
Let us all be objective, on issues.
Sanusi is about starting Islamic banking system, and some people protested, while others shouted them down. Now, I strongly want to believe, this is one of the reasons people shouted at the top of their voices against Islamic bank, and not Islamic banking system itself. Are we not heading towards Islamising this nation (when policies like dis begin to trek into our laws)? How can the house go on six (6) weeks break, even when they all wake up in the morning to feed themselves full? Okay, wont NASS do same, when the Christians are fasting too? Remember, theirs is 40 days, so, who will suffer during this period, just as it is about to happen now? Remember, their colleagues in US, worked over the weekend to get something good out for Americans. So, what is happening in Nigeria, religious-wise?

I will only counter the statement that has spilt another lie. It didnt happened in 1914, yet you lied again about 1925. Same was repeated in 1975. Now you are saying the world is coming to an end in days again. These statements are one of the reasons, why people hate witness. I didnt want to say anything, until you came up with these war lies. Say another thing, and I will keep listening and enjoying the contributions, but no one like "Iro", lies.

PoliticsRe: Who Is Nigeria's Most Respected Statesman (dead Or Alive)? by selingel: 7:16pm On Jun 20, 2011
Well, we are all entitled to our own opinions!.
To me, I will give it to the 3 Wizards:
1. Dr. Nnamdi Azikiwe.
2. Chief Obafemi Awolowo.
3. Tafawa Balewa.
These men were wonderful one way or the other. Whoever does not see what they did, does not know Nigerian history. They may not be the best, but merit being mentioned by me!.

My only observation on this thread is that, it has already gone on the tribal end. In fact, I even read where someone said, Awolowo was tribal. If the other 2 were as tribal as he was, I think this nation would have been better. Till tommorow, even non-Yorubas, will ever live to remember this man called "Awo". In fact, under Awo (as 2b, I will mention Lateef Jakande). Awo was tribal, as it may seem, but his people loved him because of all the developmental structures that are even still available till date. I will ask here, what legacy did Zik leave for the then Eastern Nigeria (except for his stand at the national level)? I have been to most places in the current South Eastern land, and even South-South which is even my base, but can hardly say, yes Zik gave us this, so I wont forget him for life. For a tribalist then, the list is endless. I am waiting to be proved wrong. Look at the current South Eastern country, they are still at the beginning level, despite all the greats they too can boast of. So, what did Zik really do? Pardon me, Ojukwu has more respect to me, than Zik. Ojukwu never fought a personal course, but needed the same development he kept seeing in other parts of the nation, and wanted to stop the endless killing of his people, out his domain. Is that man not better than a nationalist, who kept taking of visitors, but members of his house were dieing of hunger, illeracy, erosion menace, and massive killings up there?
In summary, they all tried, but dont nail one for being a tribalist. If one could win one or two stuff for his end, and his people love him for that, then is part of development. Mine is simple, dont do this at the expense of others. Dont even do it the Ibori style (steal and develop your place), for some day, you will go to LONDON, lol.
Just leave a lasting legacy, which people will remember you for. Naming of streets after a man, is not any legacy please! Lets correct that, else people like IBB, will be mentioned amongst the 1st 5 in this nation.
This is my humble observation, and opinion. I think I am entitle to it. Please, rather than quote me, please say your own.
PoliticsRe: Massob To Join Boko Haram - Uwazuruike, Leader Threatens: I May Join Boko Haram by selingel: 6:11pm On Jun 20, 2011
I think this man is hard up, and needs some cash. I also think this man suddenly remembered that, it has been long Nigerians heard from him. So, now is the time for him to talk and be heard. Which Igbo man will leave his International spare-part shop, to die (via suicide bomb explosion) for Biafra now? Who even told him, most Igbo people are in support of his out-dated Biafran struggle? Who wants to lose his investment scattered all over the nation? Just as they need Nigeria, Nigeria needs Biafra. June 12, 1993 struggle taught Lagosians how important we need each other. Those who left for South Eastern part, for fear of war, came back, with long necks and many even had to sell properties in thier villages to be able to return to Lagos. What does that mean? They were missing their businesses, just as those who had no where to go (the Yorubas) celebrated their return. Thats why I rarely read this rubbish! To even think, is from SUN Newpaper, is the funniest news of the day!
Next news, please!.

It baffles me on how Jimoh Ibrahim intends to run Nigerian Eagle, or whatever name they now call it (though we know it as Virgin Nigeria). Till date, he has not told us what happened to his former airline, Nicon Airways. Meanwhile, a few days ago, his company was shut down in Lagos due to tax evasion. How he will manage this current one, time will tell, else, it will join the catalogue that we have in this thread.
