Honestly the more I think about this the more I feel it is an absolute non issue. In fact i don't know if i can say she was wrong.

Her offense was heading straight to the tunnel after getting subbed. That had everything to do with frustration and nothing to do with discipline. There is no rule that a player has to stay on the bench after getting subbed. For all we know she could have been in the back crying her eyes out.
Osasu and Asisat have beef history so I don't entirely believe that Osasu asked that question with a clear conscience.

Remember some years back Osasu Obayiuwuna was selected by CAF to vote on behalf of Nigerian football media for the CAF women footballer of the year, and when CAF released the vote breakdown, it emerged that he voted for Tabitha Chawinga of Malawi instead of Asisat Oshaola.

Asisat eventually won the award that year but many Nigerians dragged him on social media for not voting Asisat, labelling his action unpatriotic, sabotage and a betrayal. Osasu doubled down that he was there not to protect nigerian interest but exercise his professional judgement, and his assessment was Tabitha Chawinga was more deserving of the award.

As a result of that issue, Asisat blocked him on Twitter. I may be wrong but it's not impossible that Osasu asked that question of the coach with an ulterior motive.

Again, them say Randy Waldrum no good 😂

I miss that man d!e, baba go don tell them wetin to do, just go sit down dey watch from bench, and they'll do it, we had a 15 game UNBEATEN run under this man, playing Haiti, New Zealand, Australia, Canada, England, Ireland and other African countries (we won New Zealand and Australia, the two World Cup hosts as at that time o).

Where I respect Randy was in that RO16 match against England wey England coach dey pace upandan, the man just still sat down chilled.

Na who no know wetin he dey do, or who no get plan na him dey shout like Madugu for touchline.
Banky my gee. So you dey enter here too. Anyways, you don talk am before say Naija teams na your only football club grin

On Randy, I beg to disagree. South Africa outplayed and completely dominated us in the Aisha Buhari cup on their way to a 4 - 2 victory. Months later, the same SA still knack us 2 - 0 in our WAFCON opening game. Pray tell, did he not learn anything from the previous match against SA?

In that same WAFCON, we lost to Morocco in the semi-finals and to Zambia in the third place match to finish 4th. Throughout the tournament, Randy started deadweights like Rita Chikwelu and Onome Ebi even when it was glaringly obvious that they were off-pace and were past their best.

At the world cup, we drew Canada, won Australia, drew Republic of Ireland and lost to England.

Even when we met SA again in the Olympics qualifier, despite the Super Falcons winning 1 - 0 over the two legs, I felt SA was the better ball playing team.

This is what I remember about Waldrum, and it's an average record in my books

Madugu has not being a bad coach and the Falcons are not playing badly under him. It's just that we've lost our headstart advantage in female football. Other countries have levelled up by investing in their female football programmes. Some like Morocco & SA even have better structure, funding, planning and organization.

Also, exposure to better leagues abroad, better coaching, more competitive matches and the availability of foreign-based professionals and dual nationals to to these other teams has made them better and closed the gap on us.

So right now, the difference between the top tier african teams boils down to the quality of players, team selection and quality of coaching input, and Madugu has not being bad in this regard though I'll admit his team selection and deployment of tactics could be better

Also, the tactics teams are deploying against us in this WAFCON is not easy to play against. Our opponents set up ultra-defensively with the intention not to play to win but to not concede against us so they pack the bus.

With Madugu, we are dominating possession and only need to work on transitioning the ball faster, and improve on our finishing. In addition, we have been defensively solid. I see promise and believe if we overcome Zambia in the Q/F, there's no stopping us and Mission X will be accomplished.

Believe!

European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga)Re: EPL Chatroom - All Discussions by semid4lyfe(m): 12:28pm On Jul 14, 2025
Buhari came into power riding on the back of public frustration about the GEJ presidency especially insecurity, and its tolerance and disposition towards corruption. He promised change, integrity, war against corruption and an end to insecurity only to deliver the exact opposite on steroids. In his 8 years, Nigeria witnessed economic regression, worsening insecurity, ethnic and religious tensions, unchecked banditry, and a general collapse of governance.

Under his watch, the naira crumbled, inflation skyrocketed, jobs disappeared, crude production ebbed to an all-time low. Businesses folded, food and basic groceries became unaffordable, families became impoverished. The tertiary education unions spent more time on strike than at their duty posts. Ditto doctors and other healthcare professionals. The health and education sectors decayed. He cancelled the merit-based PRESSID scholarship scheme because it was being dominated by southerners. Young people fled the country in droves out of desperation.

Boko Haram, bandits and unknown gunmen thrived, and it felt like the country was under siege. Farmers couldn’t go to their farms. Fulani herdsmen wreaked havoc. Whole indigenous communities were wiped out while the government responded with silence and empty condolences.

He gallivanted around the world. Granted lacklustre interviews and made insulting remarks about Nigerians like Nigerian youths are lazy. He alienated an entire region by referring to them as 5 percent and a dot in a circle. He was so ethnocentric and his appointments were lopsided. His body language emboldened impunity and corruption thrived under him.

I could go on and on but make I stop for here.

The truth is Buhari's death is coming too late. Nigeria would have been better off if he had done a Yaradua, and Osinbajo had ascended to the presidency.

E no get how person wan spin am, Buhari was an unmitigated disaster and catastrophe.

I think having 4 kids at age 32 inside this economy is a whole lot.

If he were to be over 40 years of age, I would want to understand that he probably had all 4 kids before the last 6 years which was Buhari's second term + Tinubu's first 2 years. One can cut him some slack that he never saw this coming.

I don't see why anybody should be having more than 3 kids with that kind of income in this current economy if such person wants to really have savings o. This one no be matter of " I love kids"
Me thinks even 3 kids is aseju in this economy, and the perfect number for his income bracket is two.

The economy ain't smiling and everything don quadruple in price. Creche/school fees, food, clothes, rent, healthcare, transportion, utility bills, groceries, school books.....you name it.

So people gats align their family size with their pockets for peace of mind, financial stability and ability to invest QUALITATIVELY in their kids future, and not just drag them along.

Also, people gats abandon that shit of "make we try once more for a particular gender" cos it doesn't end well most times, and don make many couples born pass wetin dem fit handle.

Once una get your desired number of kids, just lock up no matter their gender. And in locking up;

No do withdrawal method❌
No do safe period method❌
No go dey ingest neem oil❌

Cos all of dem dey fail.

Couples should visit a health care facility, and adopt a proper birth control/family planning method guided by a professional.

Make I rest my fingers for now.

I don't think I can ever work for government in Nigeria sha. I so much hate the way government would just delay their salaries and there won't be any reasonable explanation. I have always detested inconsistent payday right from NYSC days.

If u are in the private sector, u would be so much used to getting ur salary on the fixed date. The date would've already been stated in ur employees' handbook and if that date falls on a weekend u will sure get ur salary earlier than usual because they will adopt the last working date before the weekend as payment day for such month.

At least thank God the University unions threatened strike and the FG quickly responded by paying on the 8th.

The only player better than Tosin is Christy Ucheibe. We have gone through this already. Tosin is better than Plumptre, let's stop this propaganda.
Not propaganda bro.

I genuinely think Demehin is error prone and not good enough to be starting for us.

I also believe Plumptre is more technical and an overall better central defender than her.

Uchebe can play central defence too but there's a little snag in her game which is slowness in pushing out of defence, and a lack of offside trap awareness.

My opinion is shaped by watching the players over the years, and my desire for the team to do well.
SportsRe: Nigeria Female National Teams' Thread by semid4lyfe(mod): 3:03pm On Jul 08, 2025
Demehin is a disaster waiting to happen. She's panicky, misplaces passes and miskicks the ball a lot.

I wish the coach can draft Plumptre to pair Ohale in the central defence, and have another defender play from the left back position.

This guy is a flip-flopper who talks from both sides of his mouth. I recall him saying earlier on that Osimhen was not Premier league proven and has to take a pay cut if he wants to come to Manchester United.

He even insinuated that Delap was a better striker than Osimhen, and now that Man U has lost out on Delap, Gyokeres wand Osimhen, he's changing mouth.

Abeg, make hin just mechionu. I was hoping one of Chelsea, Arsenal, Liverpool, Manchester United, PSG or Juve would have signed him and I don't like that he's decided to stay with Galatasaray but I'm glad the uncertainty is over and there's now clarity over where he'd be playing his football.

A good player is a good player irrespective of league, and Osimhen is easily one of the best #9 in the world. I'm wishing Osimhen well in the Turkish league, and may he also excell in their European campaign.

As someone in the system, I can confirm that it's true....and it's not just academic staff of universities but staff of all Federal Tertiary Educational Institutions (Universities, Polytechnics and Colleges of Education).

And this shit of delayed salaries began last year October when the FTEIs were migrated from IPPIS to GIFMIS salary platform.

My institution's Bursar released a memo on the issue and blamed FG for the delay. According to the memo, lack of cash backing from the Office of the Accountant General is the reason for the delayed salary.

◾Wage award we no see.
◾EAA still dey hang.
◾2023 arrears of 25/35% increment, yet to drop.
,◾Monthly salary wey we dey take hold body, delayed.

Sometimes, I dey feel like some of PBATs appointees dey deliberately sabotage hin government. Surely, it can't be that difficult to process and pay salaries timely. Also, PBAT needs to exercise better oversight over his appointees because the buck stops at his table, and na hin dem go blame for failures like this.

Me, I for no too worry if no be say I carry funds go register my last born to begin school in September, and paid first term schl fees of hin elder bro & sis. Also bought a new battery for the car and did some maintenance so account don red.

Anyways, hats of to all men cos na grit and grace many of us dey take run this life.

Edit: The salary alert don dey enter but e never reach my side.

I only started watching from 60 minutes.

From what I saw Ashleigh Plumptre was the best player on the field. Very technical player; sublime passing, good positioning & movement, calm and always picked out her teammates. Crosses were on point, defensive interceptions too. Also overlapped and ran the left channel effectively playing both 3 & 11. Not gonna lie, I was damn impressed. And I think she's even better as a central defender.

I wish her goal had stood. I could see that she really wanted to score and was willing the ball to come to her when Okoronkwo was about to take a corner kick.

We got lucky with Ashleigh. She no be white privilege. The gal na agba baller, and merits her place in the starting 11. I hope we achieve Mission X, and Ashleigh Plumptre contributes to our goal count.

This thing is my concern. In what world is the behavior of Wike that which a president of a country to condone?

The fact that Tinubu don't care about optics is always a worry.

For almost 19 days Wike was placing front page advertorial of the roads to be commissioned in the FCT. Country wey dem talk say we are broke and minister of FCT dey use millions dey place advert of commissioning inside all major newspapers.

Look at the way Wike conducts himself in public like a tout and then it seems Tinubu is okay with it. The guy even organizes media chat/briefing almost every month where he talks like he's the defacto president barking up and down
It worries me too. PBAT needs to rein in Wike's excesses cos he is moving mad like a dictator right under his nose. The president is even encouraging his antics by commending him and advising him to ignore his critics.

In hindsight, PBAT made a grave mistake making Wike a Territorial minister. A better fit for Wike would have been a portfolio with little relevance.

Tinubu might probably keep him as Minister until 2027 to deliver Rivers and Abuja, but after that I hope he can discard him or reshuffle his cabinet and post him to another ministry in which he'll be less in our faces and have less nuisance value.
