Still, I'm beginning to notice a pattern with VDM. People he's advocating and fighting for seem to cut him off at some point.

So there's low-key scarcity of LPG(cooking gas) in Lagos ( I'm not sure of other states), and it's being grossly under reported in the media.

I also didn't know until this past week during the independence public holiday. I drove to a gas plant where we normally get gas at the official price and noticed they were shut. I spoke to one of the workers and he said they don't have stock hence why they shut their gates. Not far from there I saw a filling station with multitudes queuing up to get gas and I just had to leave there cos I wasn't going to lose hours of my holiday to queue for cooking gas.

I eventually bought at the cost of 1,400 per kg from a retailer not far from my my area and I just didn't give the whole thing much thought until yesterday I sa :Dw posts on social media showing people queuing up for gas in different parts of Lagos. I guess most people who still have gas reserve won't be able to relate for now.


If ur gas finish at this period, u either spend hours on queue to get it cheap or pay a very exorbitant price to refill from reatlilers who still have stock.

Cooking gas dey abundantly available for here, and coincidentally I even refilled my 12.5kg cylinder yesterday. Price is also down from #1200 I refilled last month to #1150 now. See attached pics.

As una dey buy fuel cheapey for Lagos, make we wey dey other parts of the country dey buy cooking gas cheaper. Equation balanced

Jokes aside, it seems to be a Lagos or South-west problem. No report of scarcity in the East. Scarcity of any kind is bad cos it drives up prices. and I know how pissed I get when I have to buy anything above the normal price. I hope supply is restored to Lagos and environs soon, and it becomes abundantly available.

You are very correct. There are many avenues of obtaining that money to japa that someone might not think about or might not be bold enough to explore.

I know a guy from a humble background that was a doctor in Nigeria hustling all those cottage hospital jobs collecting chicken change and he gathered money from his hustling and from friends to japa to the Caribbean.

He got there and was deported back to Naija from the airport. He came back to Naija owing people money. His father whose gratuity had just come through, gave the guy the money to enter flight again almost immediately. He and his wife are now both doctors working in the UK.

Most people will not try that 2nd trip he did with his father's gratuity, especially after getting deported the first time.

When I see all these pictures I always ask how they made it to UK or Europe if they were really broke because a person dealing with sapa will not be able to japa.

No be everybody wey dey japa hold bar. My daughter's home lesson teacher, a female corper I was paying 25k in 2021 to tutor my daughter enter UK like two months after she serve finish.

She didn't show for like two weeks when she was teaching my daughter, and when we called she said she had an emergency and had to rush home.

It was much later after she had passed out, and we saw registry wedding pictures and started seeing UK pictures that we pieced it together that she go do wedding things with her guy that period wey she no show. Na dependant package she take enter UK with her guy via study route. Dem sell properties, borrow money, still do POF runs just to raise bar for the waka.

There was an old French or Swizz Bank by that name, Societe Generale Bank so many erroneously thought the Nigerian Bank was affiliated to it, and had solid financial backing.

Saraki too cleverly never dispelled those thoughts cos it was to his business advantage. Maybe that one too follow hoodwink people into doing business with the bank.

The Nigerian Societe Generale Bank was a distinct business entity separate from the European bank, and was founded in the 90s I think.
