Momentum dey always swing like clock pendulum on social media. At some point, it was Agba John Doe, Wizarab and ThatBoyYom that were propagating this kinda message. Those ones don fizzle out, and no dey trend again. Now na GehGeh dey carry the mantle. I doubt anyone is taking him seriously because people are just creating spin-off and cruise contents with his videos. I expect he'll fizzle out soon too with time. At the end, everyone go revert to their innate and learned behaviours. Trends dey come and go, but character remains the same, and people no dey change. |
oweniwe:I knew you'd notice ![]() |
raumdeuter:I kinda agree but India must have weighed the social cost against the economic benefit and concluded it wasn't worth it. Economic benefit - Job creation, more taxes, income and revenue to government coffers from Bet companies. Social cost - gambling addiction, de-incentivization of work, debt and financial ruin, broken relationships/families, substance abuse, alcoholism, mental health issues, increased crime rates etc |
He surely lined his pocket. Still. I commend him for this initiative cos he has impacted knowledge and skills, and has taken some delinquents off the street. Meanwhile, make una go on TikTok and type Celebrity Carpenter Moses Wife into the search bar. Una ears go full. |
GloriousGbola:Oh okay. Now I understand. Ese gan. |
GloriousGbola:When did PET bottles become unrecyclable? |
CrystalTiger:Smart move, good development and long overdue. I recall Cowbell started the sachetization of milk in the 90's and that move turned milk from a luxury product for the rich to an everyday product. It also changed the whole FMCG industry because other companies also adopted sachet packaging afterwards. I believe the same thing will happen with engine oil because more brands will adopt sachets to cut production costs, increase sales and profits, and widen their market share. Consumer behaviour in Nigeria don change gan and na satchet everybody dey buy now, and it makes sense to. For example, 1000g Nestle Cerelac tin (Made in Nigeria) cost #12,000. The same Nestle Cerelac in 50g sachet cost 3900 per roll of 10 sachets. So two rolls which is the content equivalent of the 1000g tin is #7800. A whopping difference of #4200. Person like me wey dey buy 3 tins of nestle cerelac every month, thats a saving of #12600. Man gats make every kobo count in this economy. |
Revolva:Yes, I don't believe the stats and I will continue to trust Nigerian women. My mum, wife, sisters, cousins are Nigerian women who are trustworthy. It's not my fault the women in your life and around you are morally loose, deceitful and promiscuous. |
I am beginning to doubt all these DNA test statistics. It seems people are now making up these numbers to bash ladies. |
iamoyindamola:Welcome baby. Congratulations to you and madam. |
JohnBullMySon:It is NOT 50-50. It is a certainty and is definitely going to happen. Going by precedence, the 3 points and 3 goals will be deducted from SA after the last round of matches in the WCQ as it was done in 2018 in the case of Nigeria for fielding ineligible Abdullahi Shehu. |
swiz123:Those melons are quite the sight. Even the babes wey shook mouth for her matta for this thread confirm am. I bin dey think say no be follow come and na Dokita mould dem but when I come see her flat back I change mind cos most Naija babes wey dey do body work dey opt for the premium package of breast augmentation, tummy tuck & BBL. |
Raum, wetin dey sup for Nebraska? |
Social media wasn't really a thing when I served, but I still remember the long talk my parents had with me the night before I travelled, and the words of advice they offered. ◾ No waka anyhow. ◾ Avoid trouble, and do not get into any disagreements and fights. ◾ Be careful where you eat and drink. ◾ When going out in mufti, always have something visible on you that identifies you as a Corper. ◾ When travelling, always board vehicles at the parks, and do not stand by the roadside. ◾ If the path to your PPA is lonely, always walk in groups with other corpers. ◾ Don’t poke your nose into local politics or community squabbles. ◾ Keep your head low, do your service, and come home in one piece. If na now, I guess they’ll have added, “Be careful what you post on social media. You never know who’s watching or how far it will spread.” Now imagine you’re a parent. You’ve laboured and sponsored your daughter through school, paid rent, fed her, sacrificed your comfort for her education. She goes for NYSC, and in the middle of service, she posts an unnecessary, critical and derogatory video about the state she’s serving in, a video that blows up online, attracting attention and trouble. I don’t know about you, but me, I will be maad furious. Yes, she’s an adult. Yes, she has freedom of expression. But there’s also something called sense. She be VA remote worker so maybe she feels she doesn’t need the NYSC certificate. But after one year of service, what’s she bringing back home? Social media popularity, followers, and podcast invites? Fame that will fade in a few months. Because when the noise dies down, na family go still bear the strain. Her online supporters that were egging her on, shouting, "she's brave, she's speaking her truth", where dem dey now? Sowore, Inibehe Effiong and the other activists that were following her around, where dem dey now? See, this kain thing dey only sweet when it’s not your own person. But when it is, you’ll wish they had just stayed quiet, finished their service without any drama, and come home. There’s a reason people say when in Rome, behave like the Romans do. NYSC no be activism bootcamp. It's not the time to prove you can save the world. Sometimes, wisdom is knowing which battles to fight, and which ones to walk past. |
TemporaryHansel:Current rate is hovering around ₦1,550 and its squeezing life out of people. But you’re here wishing for the Naira to fall to ₦2,500. Do you realise what that would do to the prices of food, groceries, value of salaries, and the cost of living? The kind of hardship you’re hoping for says a lot, and you are truly a despicable person. |
mostob:Actually, that shouting and directing play from the touchline is a thing our coaches picked up from the grassroots. Hardly will you see any coach at that level who doesn't do it. |
Spy360:✔️ |
BlueRayDick:Customs needs a reformer like Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo. Which Ministry dem dey under? |
Apologies. I'm extremely busy offline this period so I'm hardly online. Hence, una go dey get patience for me to unblock your spambotted posts. @BlueRayDick, and others who have tagged me to unblock their posts. |
naptu2:Wetin she talk? |
Amigoss:Yeah, 100k USD loading. Make we see whether PBAT go panic ![]() Hopefully, the state governors and corporates go step up too. |
CornOak:After the uproar and furore over the Falcons 160m reward, you think say PBAT go get mind to reward these ones too the same? ![]() |
Queenslander:Na wetin me sef hear, and it's understandable. Football is 10x bigger than basketball in Nigeria, and BB isn't as popular and doesn't have a huge following. Hopefully, the team has corporate sponsors that can reward them too. |
100k USD loading. Make I see whether PBAT go panic |
PDPGuy:Supported. Make dem pick the top two teams from each continental confederation. Off the top of my head, e go be Europe - England, Spain Africa - Nigeria, Morocco North America & Caribbean - USA, Mexico Oceania - Australia, New Zealand South America - Brazil, Colombia Asia - Japan, South Korea. The tournament go maad gan. |
Did Didier Drogba really gift the Super Falcons 50m? |
OasisX:Why you dey tag me? If it's about the post below: Amoto94: FG want to give me a ₦10m loan that I will repay over 4 years or so to help my life. Meanwhile, I have a remnant of about ₦8.8m as the unpaid Earned Academic Allowance that is with the FG. I have about 3 and a half months' withheld salary, which is about ₦1.3m, with the FG. I have unpaid promotion arrears from 2017 to 2023 that I don't even know the amount and it's with the FG. There were other arrears that they deliberately refused to pay to university workers. If FG should pay me this money, which is even more than the ₦10m, I do not need their ₦10m loan. AbdelGhaffar AmokaThen yes, I can confirm that it's 100% accurate. The author, Abdelghaffar Amoka Abdelmalik, is a Professor at ABU Zaria. Nothing in that post is exaggerated. It's the truth, and nothing but the truth. . And lastly, @OBIdients, @BATists, @ATIKUlators, don't rope me into your narratives cos I don't do political cults or party affiliations. The quality of my life nosedived the moment PBAT declared subsidy is gone, and since then my life and income have been under pressure. Still, if PBAT does something that makes sense, I’ll acknowledge it. If he falls hand, I go talk am too cos I speak based off my lived experiences and reality Love and light. |
BlueRayDick:Well, I live in the South Eastern state that is famed for cultivating rice and here foreign rice is barred so we majorly consume local rice that we buy directly from the rice mill, not supermarket stores so that may also be a factor. I remember well cos I went with a bag from home to the rice mill that day, and when I got there, I discovered they had changed their bags so I had to buy the new one for N500. Na the rice we still dey chop for house, though e don nearly finish. My total expenses that day; Rice - 25k Bag - 500 Destoning - 500 Total - 26k. Una dey chop local rice? Trust me, its tastier and more nutritious than foreign rice, and you'd love it. As rice dey cheaper here, maybe I fit dey supply una. ![]() |
BlueRayDick:Actually, the price of rice was around 50k in May/June. I know cos I got a bushel of rice (25kg/half bag) in mid May for 25k, and then the bushel price ranged from 22 - 28k at the rice mill, so it wasn't propaganda. I hear it's back up now though. |
OasisX:Where Renewed Hope Estate dey? As at today, is it a completed estate or a project that only exists on paper? I ask cos na there President allocate 3-bedroom flats to the team members. |
GloriousGbola:Thank you for this. I watched the video and listened till the end. PBAT has a sense of humour, and is not bad when he speaks off cue. ![]() Going by experience of previous teams, na for that 3-bedroom apartment problem go dey because they may not receive the papers for years or never. I wish PBAT had just stuck to the monetary gift and award of National Honours. Still, good one from Mr President. |
