https://www.instagram.com/p/DBY89u_uOCs/ Egbon, perhaps you're right but on a norms, the babe no get sense. Was there a need for the poll? Nigerians born in diaspora are also Nigerians and deserve a chance to play for the national teams at all levels. Its the reason I was pissed when that Irish-Nigerian gal was tossed around from U-20 to U-17 and the coaches ended up not picking her. Okobi displayed intellect myopia and scored an own goal with that post |

BascoVanVeli: So she can't shout out our U17 coach again? Even if she is throwing a jab at Waldrum, who cares Is he a better coach than Pep who gets attacked by former players? That's part of the game and now players are allowed to say their mind since he is gone. Basco, calm down o. Meanwhile. is she a former player? |

AkinDS: I think it was more than the poll itself - there were subtle jabs at the FB players (prompting the retorts from Tonie Payne and Alozie), which is not surprising in itself, considering she has always put her foot in her mouth whenever she is on social media (poor comments about Waldrum after a WAFCON, crass comments about her being left out of the WC, etc.). This is certainly not outside of the scope of what she would say.
The issue with here is she is still living in the past and is fiercely refusing to move into the future. She cannot seem to wrap her head around the fact that we live in a world where Nigerians in diaspora are also Nigerians. She has always been very myopic in her thought process. Unfortunately, people like her always become a relic of the past and end up being left behind. I agree wholeheartedly. Also, it was a subtle famzing of the coach |

[quote author=seankafor post=132704817]I like the gangsterism attitude in Brazilians.. dey don't give a fúck who you re..
I like how the coach shoved Marcelo and told him to go sit his ass back 🔙
player is bigger than a coach.
A player should always adhere and play to the manager's instruction because the manager bears the brunt and takes responsibility for the team's successes and failures. |

aicon4s: Sorry Sir, FIFA recognises and plays 3rd place matches in ALL its competitions. CAF is part of FIFA and not UEFA and so CAF having 3rd place matches is not out of place. By and large, having a 3rd place match is a more deterministic and conclusive method of choosing a 3rd placed team. I concede the point of FIFA playing 3rd place matches. Still, it doesn't negate my point that a 3rd pace match is not necessary to determine the 3rd placed team in a football competition. Make we just agree to disagree sha. |

aicon4s: That 3rd place match is important. Any of the top two teams can be disqualified for any possible reason and a third placed team will be selected. I disagree sir. Third place matches are unimportant and absolutely unnecessary. No team likes to play 3rd place matches as players are usually demotivated and low on enthusiasm and zeal. Furthermore, the third place team can be determined by the performance of the two losing teamsn at the semi-final stage or throughout the competition. It's the reason FIFA and UEFA don't have 3rd place matches in their competitions. Specifically. FIFA determines the third-place team at the World Cup using a number of criteria, including: Points: The team with the highest number of points from all group games Goal difference: The team with the best goal difference from all group games Goals scored: The team with the highest number of goals scored from all group games Fair play: The team with the best fair-play record from all group games Drawing of lots: If teams are still tied, FIFA will draw lots to determine the third-place team CAF should adopt this method to determine the 3rd place team in their competitions rather than have teams go through the rigours of a match they'll rather not play. |

I don't know if it's the same for football awards but in music awards, the winners are given replicas on stage during the awards.
The originals are mailed to the winners after their names have been engraved on the plaques.
So if it happens, nothing spoil. The winner will be given another dummy. |

Started watching from 75 minutes.
Not so impressed by the few minutes I watched.
We couldn't hold possession for long and we turned the ball over too often with Esther Oyenezide being the main culprit.
Also, our defenders were caught napping twice and Algeria would have scored if their #9 was more clinical.
Good save by our short chubby substitute keeper at the last minute
The gap in quality between the foreign-based and the home-based is 7-up. |

deltafly: Thank God you notice this . When players have space instead to pass they shoot anyhow ..I hope coach correct this ..this game is tight From game 1, this has been their modus operandus. Sometimes you see players shooting far from the 18 yard box and you're wondering. kilode? Why not simply pass and progress the ball forward? I posted days before that this match will be won from the bench and that's exactly what happened today. Clearly, the Americans studied our tapes and came up with a plan to neutralize us But Coach Bankole just selected players to put on the field without a clear cut strategy to win. Like lovewins said, the difference between Nigeria and USA today was in the coaching. I don't know the kind of coaching they teach in that National Institute of Sports Sutulere where the majority of our coaches qualify and get their coaching badges but there must be something wrong if our local coaches appear mediocre and clueless when they face off with their foreign counterparts. |
