Family › Re: Is It Possible To Raise A Child Without Beating by SenatorJames(m): 7:48am On Sep 11, 2014 |
bamoza: Hello NLs I always have the intention not to physically beat my children when they misbehave (that I would rather talk to them or give them light punishment) due to the fact that my parents were people that believe so much that beating is the best method to correct a child but they were wrong because we only changed as far as the pain of the beating lasted, Infact it made us worse because we got so used to cane that we not scared of doing something wrong, so because of that, I believed that beating does more harm than good, and to support my new believe is when one of my uncle told me that he has never beat his children, though they(his children) left Nigeria at an early age, but even when in Nigeria he said he has never beaten them, though can't ascertain if his wife did not, but am sure when they got abroad they won't beat, because they don't beat dia. But recently I have a niece of mine that came to stay with us and with my knowledge that beating is not the best method of correcting a child, I try as much as possible not to beat her when she did something wrong, but lately have had to beat her twice because it seems she wasn't getting better or listening to the corrections when I say them but with a few strokes she got them perfectly, and am like, me that determined to never beat a child, but can't refrain myself from beating my niece, how sure that I won't beat my child with all this I just keep wondering is It possible to raise a child In Nigeria without beating the child? It is possible, pray that Lord give you a good child, but after correcting him/her verbally and still proving adamant, it's not bad to add little cain. above all be prayerful that God give you glorious children that will have the fear of God. |

perry2020: Kai sum ppl and funny comments sha. Anyways my own opinion of a wife material is 1.a lady who can submit herself(she isn't too proud, neither is she boosy, she doesn't put herself above her husband and family) 2.a very understanding lady(sum one who understands u bcoz d key to a healthy relationship is understanding, when they understand each other some quarrels can be averted). 3.a lady who supports u and completes u(sum ladies have d ideology dat "it's my husbnds responsibility to do everything dats why he is d man"its shouldn't be dis way. a wife should be a helpmate not a liability.(take her out on a date tell her u forgot ur wallet n plead with ha to pay n c her reaction) 4.a god fearing lady 5.a smart lady and a lady who is very resourceful and independent not one who at just dating level is expecting u to buy cream, pad etc f u start now just get ready to do it forever. 6.a lady who knows how to be economical and considerate 7.a lady with good morals, very contented, not much of a gossip bcoz if she is much of a gossip my dear u are in trouble ooo. 8.a lady who knows how to improvise and multi task. 9.a lady with good personal hygiene and keeps her house clean,if she doesn't keep her house clean den how will she keep ur's clean. SHE MUST ALSO CARE FOR HERSELF PHYSICALLY so it won't be a matter of blowing up after marriage and u end up saying my wife is fat and I don't love her. 10.a lady who respect her parents and listen to advice.(if she cant obey her parents forget it she cant obey u. plus if she doesn't listen to advice whats d probability that f she does sum tin wrong and u advise her she would take ur advice and change. 11.a lady who is economical and has a very good saving spirit (this is a very important factor dat a woman must have coz some men spend too much it is d duty of d woman to call her husbnd to caution and try to impact in him d saving spirit incase of raining days)not the woman who spends all her earning on Brazilian hair. 12.a tactful and smart lady that can give her husbnd good advice when he needs it and encouragement 13.a woman who is string spiritually bcoz battles will always come. a woman is d bedrock of her home,it is her prayer that keeps her husband, and kids goin. 14.dis is quite important to some men. IF I WAS A GUY.SHE MUST BE A VERY VERY GOOD COOK COZ I LOVE FOOD AND VERY GOOD FOOD.( VARIETIES OF COOKING SKILLS AND RECIPE)the way to a man's heart is through his stomach. If a lady cooks better for him babes forget ur nigga oo. 15.she MUST be ready to satisfy him sexually(dis is another thing i noticed that drives men away from home when she gives him 2 days in a week roaster AFTER Aff Pay bride price oo. And u expect him not to look out as a young man. 16.a lady who isn't promiscuous(if she starts acting bitchy while dating what's d probability she won't turn into a LovePeddler when u get married, now it's not only men that bring in hiv and stds even women do. 17. A lady who respects u,ur relationship and everything u value including ur parents and siblings. 18.a wife material must be matured aldoe age is just a number sum times, its abt maturity.Good communication is also very necessary. 19.make sure she is fun loving(picnic, games, strolls etc) if not ehennnn ur marriage will be so boring. 20.be a husband material before looking for a wife material.f u ain't a husband material don't expect to have a wife material
Hmmmm talking too much already. this ones are d basic sha,got to look out for all dis in a lady. standards and taste differ it's not compulsory she has all. Source: Your brain, knowledge or experience? Then you must be a wife material if you have all these in you. |

The funny part of this ebola saga is that, as its degrading some business like hunting its upgrading some like ewedu (vegatable farming). Who knows, tommorrow another research can say "giving anybody bearing James money can cure ebola", by then I can book for my duplex in bannana estate and my cars from Germany. Finally i can now go into my full time drama evangelism icnsystem: A consultant at the Lagos University Hospital (LUTH), Idi-Araba, Professor Adebukola Ositelu, has said Ewedu which is known in English as the Long-Fruited vegetable, is capable of preventing and curing the Ebola Virus Disease (EVD) by boosting the immune system.
Ositelu stated this at the annual African Traditional Medicine Day organised by the National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control (NAFDAC) on Thursday, at Ikeja, Lagos.
According to her, the vegetable had a high potency to boost the immune system such that it’s usage would prevent an individual from being infected with Ebola, or get rid of the virus in the case of an infected person.
She, however, noted that chances of being cured by an intake of Ewedu when a victim has gotten to the stage of vomiting was low, but could still be administered.
Ositelu, who is a professor of Ophthalmology at the University of Lagos, Akoka (UNILAG), said to administer the ‘treatment’, the Ewedu should be rinsed thoroughly with liquid vinegar “blend and cook with drinkable water, without adding salt or kaun (pottash) or any other ingredients; then take a 25cl or half a tumbler measure once a week, first thing in the morning before any meal” for prevention, adding that those already infected should take it every morning for seven to five days.

True talk bro natureblack: If "Twerking" could find its way to Oxford English Dictionary then I don't see any big deal to these ones. Buh get to think of it,English is kinda hard
we'll begin with box,the plural is boxes, But the plural of ox is oxen, not oxes One fowl is goose, and two are called geese Yet the plural of mouse is never called meese
You may find a lone mouse or a house full of mice; but the plural of house is houses, not hice. The plural of man is always men But the plural of pan is never pen.
If I speak of a foot, and you show me two feet, and I give you a book, would a pair be beek? If one is a tooth and a whole set are teeth why shouldn't two booths be called beeth?
If the singular's this and the plural is these, should the plural of kiss be ever called keese?
we speak of brother and also of brethren, But though we say mother,we never say methren. Then the masculine pronouns are he,his and him But imagine the feminine ...........she,shis and shim.
#EnglishEnglishEnglish but the plural of brother is brothers not brethren. Brethren is another word on his own, which can include both brothers and sisters. |
Foreign Affairs › Re: ‘yes Means Yes” The New Sex Law Of California by SenatorJames(m): 7:50pm On Sep 07, 2014 |
dotna: California Passes ‘Yes Means Yes’ Law
Here’s some uplifting news to read before you leave for your long weekend: California just became the first state to pass a ‘Yes Means Yes’ bill that would require all state-funded colleges and universities to adopt “affirmative consent” language in their definitions of consensual sex, Yahoo! News reports. The California senate unanimously passed the bill in May, and it’s now set to be signed into law by Governor Jerry Brown. The law defines sexual consent between people as “affirmative, conscious, and voluntary agreement to engage in sexual activity.” In other words, silence or a lack of resistance do not count as consent, and drugs and alcohol will not (not that they ever should) excuse unwanted sexual activity or touching. Governor Brown must sign the bill into law by September 30th, and if he does, it would be the first time a state would require such strong language to be a part of a school’s sexual assault policies, Claire Conlon, a spokesperson for Senator Kevin de Leon—who championed the bill—told Yahoo!. We love this idea, not only because it seems to do away with the old “No means no” mentality, but because it champions enthusiastic consent between students. Hopefully, it’ll encourage all parties involved to stand up for themselves and talk about what they’re comfortable with. There’s nothing sexier or healthier than two people who really know what they want and aren’t afraid to say it.
http://zealnote.com/yes-means-yes-new-sex-law-california/ Someone may say useless law, because in Nigeria we are faced with many serious problems that require vibrant and working law, but we can't blame them, because all other things are working fine there, they talk about silly laws like this to remind the people that the goverment still exist. |

Babafaros: Sunday, September 7,2014 TOPIC:THE BLESSED LIFE
MEMORIZE Beloved, I wish above all things that thou mayest prosper and be in health, even as thy soul prospereth. 3 John 2
READ Isaiah 45:1-3 1 Thus saith the LORD to his anointed, to Cyrus, whose right hand I have holden, to subdue nations before him; and I will loose the loins of kings, to open before him the two leaved gates; and the gates shall not be shut; 2 I will go before thee, and make the crooked places straight: I will break in pieces the gates of brass, and cut in sunder the bars of iron: 3 And I will give thee the treasures of darkness, and hidden riches of secret places, that thou mayest know that I, the LORD, which call thee by thy name, am the God of Israel.
MESSAGE
There is a divine purpose for sending you to Earth. It is this plan and purpose that will connect you to the blueprint of God in your life. Until this purpose is discovered, you may wander through life without any sense of fulfilment. A lot of people pass through the world like an ant: unnoticed and unknown. This is because they fail to understand the plan and programme of God for them. The master plan for your life is in the hands of God. It spells out phase by phase what is expected of you at every given time. This is what gives you clear direction and focus on what to do and what not to do. It gives clear-cut direction on what can make your life a blessing indeed. To have a blessed life means prosperity, excellence and extra-ordinary breakthroughs. Abraham is a true example of what a blessed life is. His life reveals what it means to be a blessing. He became a blessing because He discovered God’s purpose for his life and pursued it (Genesis 12:1-3) . The moment your life becomes an instrument of blessing other lives, there is no way you will not record outstanding success. It is clear to all and sundry that Jesus lived a blessed life. He came to the world and died on the cross for the salvation of humanity. Today, you and I are called children of God because of that sacrifice. There is no one who can enjoy a blessed life while living a double-standard life. You cannot be a channel of blessing if your life is not right with God. You need to be reconciled to your Maker. You need to be at peace with God before you can begin to taste His wonderful grace. Having a blessed life implies a life that is totally surrendered to the Lord Jesus Christ. The life of Jesus is a blessing because through His Name, the sick are healed, the barren become fruitful, deliverance is given to the captives and innumerable miracles happen on a daily basis. The steps of living in the realm of a blessed life revolve around having the mind of Christ. With the mind of Christ, you will be able to make a positive and lasting change in the world. You must embrace a life of humility. True humility and the fear of the Lord lead to riches, honour and long life (Proverbs 22:4) . Humility is a virtue that is expected to be seen in a life that wants to be blessed. When you are humble, you achieve greater feats. Jesus became obedient unto death. To have a blessed life, you must be willing to die daily; this means your self-will is subjected to the will of the Master on a daily basis.
BIBLE IN A YEAR Joshua 4-6 Job 34:16-30
PRAYER POINT Oh Lord, move me from the minimum level of life to the maximum you designed for me. Oh Lord, move me from the minimum level of life to the maximum you designed for me today in Jesus name. Happy birthday to me today, the 7th (perfection) day of September (delivery of good things) 2014. |

PeterKbaba: Yoruba Village London
The Yoruba Village is a mixed use development on a 1Ha site providing a wide range of community facilities. The aspiration of the project is to provide the community with a destination to celebrate the culture of the West African community in London. The proposals were presented to 400 distinguished guests at the Grange Tower Hotel in Tower Bridge in August 2013.
This will be a special scheme for Yoruba's in Diaspora and also a multicultural community that can learn about the Yoruba culture. The project has been designed to be as permeable as possible with the community through its facade treatment. The urban strategy has been strategically implemented to draw people into the scheme. It provides an 'extension to the main road by introducing a pedestrian’s concourse right through the centre of the scheme.
A flythrough of the project can be viewed on here
The scheme consist of the following • Public Gallery exhibiting Yoruba and West African Culture • Suite / Hall 01, 02, 03 - Seats 500 Dining - Seats 700 Theatre • Restaurant / Bar Facilities
• Retail Units x10 • Commercial Units x12 • Supermarket 20000 sq ft
• Car Parking - 1000 gross spaces
•Community Facilities (crèche, academic)
http://www.bolansgroup.com/projects/yoruba-village-london/ If it will be to better the life of common Nigerians in the diaspora, they have my support, if not, its not good enough, because unfair treament Nigerians are subjected to by the foreigners is too much. |
Romance › Re: Some Very Silly Things Guys Should Stop Doing by SenatorJames(m): 5:24am On Sep 06, 2014 |
You are a good researcher on this, I just opened my mouth as many really torch me LaurelP: Guys can be very annoying at times. I just don't know why many of us indulge in these irritating behaviors
1. Staring at a lady's backside: 90% guys do this. They just can't help turning around whenever a female passes, just to check out her backside. Its very irritating and rude too. Guys pls stop it
2.Calling a girl and saying "I just want to hear your voice": To me this is just dumb! And that's why that girl can never call you. She assumes you don't have a life. Guys, even if you're jobless at d moment, pls find sth to do even if its free, a hobby or volunteer work just to fill the time. Than to waste your time wanting to hear a girl's voice.
3. Thanking a lady for accepting their friend request on Facebook: As if they have won gold. Its so annoying and smacks of both desperation and lack of self worth. At worst, you should welcome the person and say that you're looking forward to knowing more about her. Not writing silly stuffs like "Baby thanks for accepting me as your friend".
4. Asking for a girl's number just too early: Many guys feel very fulfilled getting a girl's digits. Guys, there's no big deal in it! You might even end up not calling them at the end of the day. Take your time and let the girl wonder why you aren't rushing to get her digits like most would do.
5.Always wanting to please ladies: I'm not saying its bad to be a gentleman, its just that some guys take it too far. They go against their own morals and ethics just to please a lady. Come on! That she's not all smiles doesn't mean she's unhappy or worried. Some ladies just use these tactics to make you do what you shouldn't do.
6. Giving out large sums of money for sex: For God's sake guys, you won't die if you don't have sex. Stop acting as if your whole life depends on sex. Some guys would abandon their parents and siblings and be spending large on a girl who hasn't added nothing in his life save for the sex. Guys pls learn!
7. Agreeing to whatever the ladies say in order to become a gentleman: We see this on NL here sometimes. Some guys have earned that reputation of always supporting, liking comments made by ladies not because its true, but because they're ladies.
There are many of them.... Pls add yours I think I must change for the better. |

Babafaros: Wednesday August 27th 2014 REWARD FOR LABOUR Memorise: And I have given you a land for which ye did not labour, and cities which ye built not, and ye dwell in them; of the vineyards and oliveyards which ye planted not do ye eat. Joshua 24:13 Read: Genesis 31:3-7; Bible in one year; John 1:1-3:15; Job 29:21-30:8 Jacob sojourned with Laban and laboured for him for several years. At first, his host was cheating him at every opportunity, and the years of his hard labour were almost in vain. Down the line, God had to intervene to enable Jacob eat the fruit of his labour. For a reader of this devotional, in every area that you have been deprived of your reward in the hands of your employers or contractors, the Lord will intervene on your behalf in Jesus’ name. it is evil when your sweat serves to increase the wealth of another man without you having any benefit to show for it. After God decided to bless Jacob to redeem the years of his labour under Laban , the sons of Laban and their father conspired against him, believing that he did not deserve the wealth he had earned. When God intervenes in your situation, you will become what the enemy did not think you could ever become. God’s intervention brings reward for labour. This can be manifested in God helping you to set up your own business or company after faithfully serving another for a reasonable length of time. Jacob ran Laban’s business as his own; he was faithful to tending the flocks and the business grew rapidly under his care. Jacob later recognised that although he had served Laban over the years, the man was not eager to grant him independence. May the Lord deliver you from the wisdom and power of those who don’t want you to become your best. Reward for is obtained when the Lord delivers you from the hands of unfaithful business associates. Laban dealt fraudulently with Jacob; at several instances, he changed their business agreement just to make sure that Jacob lost out while he prospered. When the Lord chooses to reward your labour, He will not allow the plans of fraudsters against you to stand. Through fraud, there are many people who have lost their month- watering Jobs innocently. Some people have been imprisoned for frauds they knew nothing about. Some people have lost millions and billions through fraud; this will never be your experience in Jesus’ Name. Also, when the Lord chooses to reward your labour, He will not allow your sincere investment to go in vain. Jacob invested his time, skills and labour into the business between himself and Laban. Reward for your labour comes when God decides to judge between you and those using you for their own advantage. After over 200 years of hard labour in Egypt, God came down to deliver the children of Israel and He gave them a land where they would enjoy the abundance provided by others. May the Lord cause you to enter into an inheritance of rest in Jesus’ Name. Prayer Point: Father, grant me reward for all my labour and remember me for good in Jesus’ name. Please always use line spacing to demarcate each item, from topic, memory verse, bible in one year, message and prayer point. It will make it understandable and interesting to read. |
