Politics › Re: President Jonathan Sick, Flown to Germany for Urgent Medical Treatment by SenatorJames(m): 8:57pm On Aug 25, 2014 |
ceo4eva: Contrary to official claims that President Goodluck Jonathan travelled to Germany on a private visit, LEADERSHIP authoritatively gathered yesterday that the president actually took ill and left for Germany to seek medical care.
Efforts to get a confirmation from the Presidency failed up until the time of going to press, as several calls to his spokesman, Dr Reuben Abati, did not go through and he didn’t respond to an email enquiry either.
Similarly, the senior special assistant to the president on public affairs, Dr Doyin Okupe, did not pick or return several calls to his mobile number last night.
President Jonathan left for Germany yesterday after performing the closing ceremony of the National Conference on Thursday.
Prior to his departure, presidential spokesman Abati had issued a terse statement saying the president would be making a private visit to Germany as from Friday (yesterday)and would be accompanied by some of his principal aides.
It was gathered that the president, on arrival in Germany, headed for a private hospital for medical check-up.
It could not however be confirmed if he went to the same hospital he had visited with his wife last year when the first lady faced some health challenges.
Before his sudden departure for Germany on Thursday, President Jonathan was billed to host members of the just-concluded National Conference to a dinner at the Presidential Villa, but the programme was cancelled at the dying minute.
Although no official reason was given for the cancellation, it was gathered that the development was connected with the president’s state of health which required urgent attention.
An authoritative source in the Presidency told LEADERSHIP that despite assurances that the president would return soon from his trip, it was not likely as his health situation was not too good. He said there was uneasy calm and anxiety in the Presidential Villa yesterday over the state of health of the president.
Meanwhile, the situation has also elicited concern from prominent Ijaw (President Jonathan’s ethnic group) political leaders, some of whom converged on the home of a prominent elder statesman from the ethnic group in Abuja to deliberate on the matter. A source privy to the meeting hinted that the Ijaw sons were considering sending a delegation to visit the president.
The source said before the meeting ended, it was agreed that clearance would be obtained from the Presidential Villa on whether the president is in a state to receive visitors before it would be decided on who would visit him.
Some people had speculated about Mr Jonathan’s health just before his trip to Washington, DC, United States, where he attended the 2014 US-Africa Summit early this month.
http://leadership.ng/news/381803/jonathan-ill-flown-germany The only reason our super falconet lost the final match to Germany, we sacrifice the world cup for our president to receive good medical attention. #Getwellsoon# |

Sports › Re: Nigeria Vs Germany (0 - 1): FIFA U-20 Women WC Final On 8th August 2014 by SenatorJames(m): 12:25am On Aug 25, 2014 |
Havilah93: Asisat Oshoala scored four times as Nigeria reached the final with a thumping 6-2 victory over Korea DPR in the highest-scoring semi-final ever seen at the FIFA U-20 Women's World Cup. Oshoala also laid on two more goals in a win that leaves the Super Falconets to face Germany on Sunday at Montreal's Olympic Stadium, and the North Koreans to play for third place at the same venue.
Nigeria have had a tendency to score quick goals during their time at the FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup Canada 2014, and Courtney Dike continued that trend with a goal barely more than a minute after kick-off. Oshoala set the tone by setting it up, releasing Dike in behind Korea DPR’s captain Choe Sol-Gyong before the No8 expertly picked her spot just inside the far post. At the half-way point of the first period, Oshoala doubled Nigeria’s lead, capitalising on a poor touch from centre-half Song Kyong-Hui before rounding the keeper and passing into an open goal.
Less than ten minutes later, Ri Un-Sim – arguably the North Koreans’ most dangerous attacker throughout the tournament – pulled one back with a great bit of individual skill after receiving a long ball from midfield. Ri beat two defenders on the cutback and finished past Sandra Chiichii with a powerful shot into the top corner. From there, Korea DPR looked inspired in search of an equaliser but the score remained 2-1 at half-time before Nigeria swiftly put the game out of reach within minutes of the restart.
In similar fashion to her appearance and goal in the quarter-finals against New Zealand, Uchechi Sunday came on as a substitute and within a minute scored to restore her team's two-goal lead. Oshoala then put the game out of reach on the hour mark when she hit a stunning shot from 20 yards out that left Kim with no chance as it flew into the top corner.
Korea DPR had one last glimmer of hope two minutes later when Ugo Njoku handled the ball in her own area, allowing Jon So-Yon to score from the penalty spot. However, Oshoala’s quality shone through yet again in the 68th minute when she completed her hat-trick, beating Song and winning a foot race with Kim to once more fire into an empty net.
Nigeria were not finished there, though, and with five minutes from time the No4 matched the number on her jersey. The goal came as a result of another North Korean defensive miscue less than six yards from goal, resulting in a simple tap-in.
Germany defeated France 2-1 in the second Semi-final match to set up a repeat of the 2010 final, which Germany won 2-0

ffo: Let me share my experience:
I submitted some friends CV in my organisation few days back, after a lot of lobbying, they were ALL invited for test. 1. one of them submitted her CV with an invalid email address (got me wondering why she didnt change it) 2. One of them said i should try to help her influence the result that she didnt write it well. 3. One of them almost insulted me that the notice period was too short. 4. Another one said he doesnt have money for TP 5. Another one came very late for the test giving excuse of rainfall in abuja in the morning (even though i came to the office in the same rain) 6. out of 5 people that came for the test, only ONE of them thanked me for the opportunity. How many of them were later employed? Even though their actions are not good enough. I had similar experience though. It's a means of saying thank you God for being employed. |

I thank God for your life. "weeping may endureth for a night, but joy cometh in the morning". May the morning of other job seekers come quickly in Jesus name. Marvin67: Friends and relatives asking you for money, even though they know you're jobless.
Having to write those GMATS test which even the HR can cannot answer all in 3 hours, yet he expects you to answer all in 30minutes.
Relatives using your situation as an opportunity to invite you to their church programs, (as if God doesn't answer prayers in your own church).
Using your last #500 as tp to the head office of a telecomms company, just because a concerned friend asks you to do so. You get drenched by the rain on your way there, only for you to get there and be told by the aboki at the gate to go to their website. (Meanwhile, the website says no vacancy, and there's no provision for submission of CV.
Going for interviews, only to discover that it's a DSA job for a bank, with ridiculous targets.
Old friends call you and the first question they ask is "how work?
Things plenty jor. Let me leave space for others to drop theirs. All the same I thank God these are all stories now. |
