Jobs/VacanciesRe: How To Spot A Bad Boss During A Job Interview by SenatorJames(m): 10:18am On Oct 07, 2014
Vanellope:
Horrible bosses are too common in the workplace. In fact, one out of five workers have had a bad boss.

When searching for a new job, it’s important to find one you’ll enjoy and a boss who is a pleasure to work for. While it’s not always easy to have the best of both worlds, there are a few warning signs of a bad boss you can spot during a job interview:

1. They arrive late to the job interview without notice.

When a manager shows up late to an interview without informing you, you’re probably safe to assume he doesn’t value your time. Additionally, this behavior might be a sign the manager doesn’t enjoy his job.

2. They display poor body language.

Is the manager constantly watching the clock? Did they avoid making eye contact with you during the interview? This type of negative body language is a strong sign that the manager isn’t interested in performing the job interview.

3. They ask illegal interview questions.

If a manager asks questions about your religion, credit history, or marital status, it’s a good sign the manager isn’t trained on ethical interview practices.

4. They ask simple interview questions.

A good manager asks interview questions that challenge candidates to showcase their expertise. However, if the manager asks questions they could find answers to in your resume or cover letter, it’s a sign they’re not putting effort into learning about your experience.

5. They lack a clear vision for the company.

Does the manager have a difficult time explaining the company’s mission or culture? It could be a sign they don’t know what’s going on within their own company.

6. Their office is extremely disorganized.

Do you walk into the office and there are messy piles of papers left and right? Does everything just seem cluttered? If a manager can’t gain control of his office, it might be a sign he doesn’t have control of his team.

7. They won’t tell you why the last employee left.

During the job interview, it’s OK to ask about employee turnover. However, if the manager refuses to answer your question or makes a rude remark, it might be a sign that the company isn’t a good place to work for.

8. They can’t answer your questions about the position.

If you constantly stump the manager with questions about the position or company, it’s a good sign he's not very engaged with his work.

9. They display red flags of previous bosses you’ve had.

Although it’s important to go into each job interview with an open mind, you want to be aware of familiar characteristics of a bad boss.

For example, does the manager seem scatter-brained during the job interview? This characteristic might remind you of a previous boss you had who was disorganized and failed to lead your old team.

10. They can’t tell you how you’d fit into the organization.

If you ask the manager what goals they’d have for you once hired and they can’t provide a response, it’s a good sign that the position you applied for isn’t a priority for them.

What are some ways you’ve spotted a bad boss during a job interview?

FamilyRe: Any Woman That Can't Cook Is Highly Irresponsible. by SenatorJames(m): 8:05pm On Oct 05, 2014
butanep:
Any woman that can't cook is highly irresponsible and not also fit to be called a woman. It is part of the responsibility of a woman to learn how to cook as she is growing up either from her mother or foster-mother.

So when a woman fail to acquire the cooking skills as she is growing up, she has failed in her responsibility and therefore not responsible because she might end up producing children that are also irresponsible.

I get angry when with the statement " Men should teach their wife that don't know how to cook". That is ridiculous. If a woman don't know how to prepare a particular food the man like very much, that's a different case but to say she don't know how to cook... she is worth nothing, because she has wasted over 10 to 15 years to lean part of her responsibility...

A woman that can't cook clearly shows, she never assisted her mother in the kitchen or her mother don't know how to cook. That woman shouldn't be taken seriously because she will bring up children that are irresponsible as well.
She can't cook? Then why is she a woman?

You mean to marry someone like this in this century of many assorted foods (both local and international), a lady will not be able to cook? What a great suicide attempt for a man.

FamilyRe: Is Marriage A Measure Of Success In Life? by SenatorJames(m): 1:17pm On Oct 05, 2014
korel9:
I have often heard and fallen a victim of this circumstance where after one has been asked and congratulated on every aspect of his life, the question is popped
"Are You Married?"

If you say "No" they scream
"What are you waiting for again?"

This often gets to me and leaves me wondering
"Is marriage a measure of success in life?"
After reading many arguments on this thread, i will like to submit that

1) You can be responsible being unmarried, but you cant be married without being responsible

2) Marriage is never a measure of success.

3) Marriage is a status in life, so if you are not married yet, just know that there is a strata you have not reached yet.

Happy Sunday.
CultureRe: 10 Cultural Taboos In Yorubaland! (things You Must Never Do) by SenatorJames(m): 8:13pm On Oct 04, 2014
Jennydoris:
Scary Taboo especially Numbers 4 and 7 sad. Then No 9, seriously that dog is a demon sad.

Here are the Taboos and consequences in Igbo Land.

ADULTERY; When a married woman commits
adultery, she is likely to run mad and the husband is
liable to die if he eats her meal knowingly. When a
married man commits adultery,he is likely to have a
set-back in his business. (I heard this from an Arochukwu woman, Arochukwu is in Abia State)

TEENAGE PREGNANCY; This happens when a young
girl gets pregnant outside wedlock. It hinders the
young woman's ability to get married and when she
eventually gets married, she is either married as a
second or third wife OR married to an old dying Man though some of them are still lucky to get married to a young man that has not married before.

MARRIAGE BLESSINGS; If one gets married without
consulting his/her parents for blessing, problems
such as Barreness, divorce or death are bound to
occur while the man's business may wreck.
(except for orphans mind you)

HAVING intimate RELATIONSHIP WITH SIBLINGS;
This is considered as the Highest taboo, the
consequences are Epilepsy,blindness, being deaf
and dumb, poverty or even death might occur.

KILLING/EATING OF CERTAIN ANIMALS; Some parts
in Ala Igbo consider the killing of Python, monkey,
Cats, Alligator, Vulture, Bats as taboo. This might
attract a fine from the victim. Consequences are
Poverty and Death.

OSU; This is another highly respected tradition. An
Osu is someone who is considered an outcast
because he/she is owned by the gods, as a
result,no one is expected to have any dealings with
an osu in terms of marriage or business. Women
Osu are known to remain unmarried till the rest of
their life or marry late or marry a man who is also an OSU. While male osu are known to
be poor. (I don't know how true this is because I know many OSU men that are very very rich, I mean very rich).

USE OF LEFT HAND; you shouldn't eat, write,Give or
receive with your left hand. This is considered an
act of disrespect and highly frowned at. It has no
Consequences but it's better you write or eat with left hand but not to give or accept with the left hand. It shows sign of disrespect especially if you're dealing with an elderly person.

NB: some of these listed taboos have been obliterated especially with the emergence of Christianity and education.
Thank God for your last statement.

But I do tell people that "Grace is not an excuse to sin, it will make you to avoid sin"

I am really asking because i think some Girls are being used to achieve Sexual needs.

Take for instance, a student that is probably not going to marry in the next 5yrs.
And he is in a so called relationship; he doesn't spend on her, no allowance, yet a bleepful (sexful) relationship and every other sexual activities.
But she washes his clothes, does every domestic chores around his home and also satisfies his private needs!

Let me ask you officially

what do you gain from such a parasitic relationship ?

For the Boys, If you are not ready to spend on her, why are you ready to demand for sex?

RockMaxi: SEPTEMBER 23, 2014 BY NAN

Fifty fleeing members of the Boko Haram sect
were apprehended by soldiers in Biu, Borno State
on Tuesday.
Security sources revealed that the insurgents,
who were traveling from the Damboa area of the
state, hid under a truck and were headed for
Gombe.
A security source told journalists that the
arrested men were currently in the custody of the
Nigerian Army and might have been detained at
the Biu barrack.
The source said some youths in Biu suspected
that the truck, loaded with sheep and goats
might have other things hidden in it.
They were said to have gone ahead to carry out
a thorough search of the vehicle, and in the
process uncover the 50 young men hiding in the
truck.
The source added that the arrested men
confessed to being fighters of the Islamic sect,
Boko Haram, and were all on the run following
the reported killing of their leader, Abubakar
Shekau, in the confrontation of the sect with the
military at Konduga last week.
He said, the suspects who were pleading for
mercy, also promised to cooperate with security
operatives by giving them useful information on
the whereabouts of other sect members as well
as other group holding the Chibok girls.

He revealed that most of the suspects were
between the ages of 18 and 25 and speak Kanuri
and Hausa.

RomanceRe: 13 Advantages Of Virginity by SenatorJames(m): 5:37pm On Sep 28, 2014
lalasticlala: It's a mixture of medical and social advantages.

1 STIs: there is no way a virgin an be infected with STIs·

2 HIV-AIDS: There is no way a virgin can have AIDS or HIV infection, which is transmitted by sexual interactions. She may still be at risk with the blood infection through cut skin etc but this last category forms only 5% or less of HIV infections.

3 Unwanted pregnancies: There is no way a virgin can become pregnant

4 Falling in love: A virgin does not fall in love with any and all persons ho comes her way the way non-virgin do and therefore make some avoidable mistakes. To most virgins, love is not blind; it has some sense, although it may be a little vision impaired.

5 Lust: Most of the activities of non-virgins are borne out of lust which we shall define here as an exaggeration of the feeling of love to such a point that it becomes closer to hate than love. Most people have seen how those in 'lust' have harmed their objects of affection in the name of jealousy or anger etc. True love is calm and never violent and never wants to harm. What teenagers call 'crush', infatuation' etc are just naked lust. And most sexually abnormal behaviors, which tend to inflict harm, are all borne out of lust and not love. Here we define anything abnormal as one that provides more harm to the biology of the individual (that is his true nature), than good.

6 Love: There is a lot of true love in virgin marriages. A woman who marries as a virgin rarely sees, or complains of problems as often as the non-virgin. Sometimes (or most times) in interpersonal relationships, it is our perception of situation that created problems which ordinary do not exist.

7 Getting married: It is difficult to find a virgin who has a problem getting married and usually at very early age which biology teaches is the optimal time for conception and establishing long and lasting relationship. For most female this must be under 25 years. A woman of the age of 27 and above is considered in medical science to be past her prime of having safe first conception.

8 Preparation for marriage: Virgins tend to be better prepared for marriage than non-virgins because of excitement. The non-virgins are worried about the future and have to make conscious effort to let their marriage work if they so wish.

9 Fun: There is lot of fun and excitement for the virgin couple on wedding night. I know a couple he spent two nights trying to break a thick hymen. The bride jokingly told the groom to please hire someone to do it for him if he cannot perform.

10 Respect from Husband: Most men tend to respect virgins throughout their marriage vows. Virgins rarely have break up marriages. I am yet to see a man who will divorce a woman whom he married as a virgin.

11 Sexual deviation: It is difficult to define deviation in sexual behavior but we can say it is any form of sexual behavior that causes biological harm. But it is impossible to see a true virgin involved in any form of sexual behavior that may be considered deviant by any standard.

12 Infertility: It is difficult to find a woman who got married as virgin having problems getting pregnant. Although there may be some born with infertility problem, but the acquired ones are not found in virgins. For example STIs which cause infertility by scarring reproductive organs in both male and female are no found in virgins.

13 Beauty: The beauty of an innocent woman is indescribable. It is like new rose.

slap1: I presently teach English language in a private secondary school (awaiting NYSC).
Believe me, those girls are something else! The first day I introduced myself, they asked for my phone number, saying it's part of the rules. I wanted to verify from the principal, they laughed and asked me not to worry.
Unfortunately, they searched me out on Facebook and sent countless friend requests ( I accepted some). They also got my number from my profile before I removed it belatedly.
Now a lot of them ask (beg) to visit me. I've bluntly ignored them.Few of them have clearly asked for sex. These girls are tempting, but I consider that I'll have kids someday and karma is just there!
I get gifts from them. I accept from the responsible ones and turn down some. My decision is that if I ever feel I love any of them, I'll wait till she leaves secondary school before making any move.
May the Lord uphold you in this your great decision. This death trap is what many will consider as opportunity.
