Travel / Re: General UK Visa Enquiries - Part 4 by Senatornuella: 7:39am On Oct 13, 2021
Would appreciate it if anyone has any advice based on the stated situation below

Senatornuella:
Hi everyone,

It is that time where you want to apply for a visa and your heart begins to do many summersaults. This is my first time on this thread, though I v used other segments of Nairaland and got good results. I v also done some reading backwards and I just like to present my case and get advice from gurus here.

I am a lawyer, and a certified arbitrator. I work with the government and my salary is about 163k after tax. I do several cooperative savings and about 39k goes to 1, 33k to another and 10k to the last. I pay for insurance from my salary, I also contribute to my pension scheme. After all these deductions what finally hits my account is N69k monthly. Thereafter, after I pay tithe, I send 50k to a thrift saving I am also involved in. (Please don't tire for me o). That is how my salary Waka every month. On the other side I am a home baker/caterer/event manager, I make beautiful cakes, pastries and tasty meals. I am also professionally trained nationally and internationally. (Although my international tutors met me half way in Ghana, but my certificate read that one from France and the other from Brisbane). I v attended about 4 big cake training institution here in Nigeria. How did you do it? Everytime I am on leave I attend a crash training program ‍♀️. I am married with 4 children. The 3 last children I had in the US. I have traveled to Dubai (severally) Ghana (once for my training) and USA (twice to have my babies. I used 1medical visa to birth 3babies, last ones are twins). I never stayed more than the duration of stay given to me. I applied for US visa thereafter cos I wanted to attend another cake training and was denied visa reason said was that I didn't get the hospital zero bal statement, just a letter showing that we had paid our bills fully and that was not sufficient proof that we fully paid our bills. After my refusal I searched for another training in Dubai, I had paid for everything only for Corona virus to strike. I put everything on hold and when it seemed like coast was clear, I revalidated my ticket, did another visa and that was the time Emirate and Nigeria decided to fight, tsek. I want to visit the UK and use the opportunity to attend a 5day cake training again (wetin lawyer dey find for inside cake).

Now apart from my salary account, I have another personal account where I run my business with. I have not registered my business cos of course I am lawyer working with the govt, if you get my drift. My business inflow and out flow in a month is over a million naira. I also coordinates contributions (osusu) this helps business people get liquid funds to plunge into their business and those saving to save and I use my personal/business account for it. I can sponsor myself for the trip, and my husband can but I intend to state that he is the one sponsoring me.

My question is this
1. As a civil servant, will I need tax clearance
2. Will I need to also show husband's tax clearance cos I didn't see people putting tax clearance as part of the documents attached
3. Will my US Visa refusal hinder the success of getting UK visa
4. The intended course is in Nov/Dec anyone I choose, should I state that I will be attending the training or I simply just say I intent to visit.
5. I do not pay myself any salary from my business oo, you know I make cake, I buy materials, I spend money from there also knowing that I should not eat up all my money. Simply put, my business doesn't have that organised structure yet. I intend to resign someday when I have finally gathered the mind and stopped being afraid to move out of my comfort zone, resign and open up my cake studio and academy, what I am doing is building myself up and building up my profile.
6. I was refused UK visa in 2012 cos then I didn't have all these ties even though I wasn't planning to run away then.
7. I have been married for 6years now, my passport is still in my maiden name. Been using it like that to travel

Please in light of the fact stated above, kindly advise me on how to go about my application. Thank you

You may need to shed more light on your question to enable good people give you the needed answers. The accommodation you inquired about is it to buy a house in their name, or to lease a house in their name. Do you intend that they stay in the accommodation on their own? Do you intend to stay with them? How old are your children

Hello my good people, I will like to know if is possible for a non-immigrant mother with a valid B1/B2 visa to apply for accommodation for her two children who are US citizens?
Very funny! A butterfly thinks itself a bird! Trying too hard at sarcasm but unfortunately you fail at it. I won't dignify your post further. However, kindly allow people to seek the answers they need from here without getting bullied. This place existed before you got here and will survive you. Gracias!

LOL! Why are you so bitter? Trying to get by force in my country? Or wishing we pay the B1/B2 visa foreigner living in America? Go claim your rights in you country. Good luck. You make me laugh.

Thinking ... I need to run to get Nigerian visa and travel from America to learn proper correct Nigerian English. grin
Why are you so assuming. The person who asked the question didn't say if she is Nigerian or not and you just concluded she is. You can't even hide your bitterness. Again, she didn't say if she wanted free accommodation and yet again you conclude. I think there is a problem with you understanding questions posed. Even your written English is difficult to understand and you are there dissing Nigerians. Ogbeni sumo!

The children are Americans, meaning all Americans children including mine. We pay taxes to provide schools, roads, health care etc. and if they go to Social Services, our taxes pay for their food and living. Why should I pay for a Nigerian visitor (a foreign mother, an adult) living? If her kids need help, leave them here and you go back to your country or this lady should work hard and give to her children a decent life as we all do.
Oh lawd! I wasn't even referring to you. I was just typing and answering so many people's post in one post. Almost like screaming 'take a chill pill' to anyone uptight on this matter(especially the country under review) and stop thinking that every action of a Nigerian is fraudulent even to the ones done in honest mistake. Well I got your diss and its fine. I will take u up on your last paragraph, and draw you an itinerary on places I love to go on you!

Lol!...Typical Nigerian...to now find faults and display bitterness in anything that no longer favours them.

I would have taken her rant more serious if she had said that because she now knows that America is not all that and that Nigeria is way better than the US she has decided to give up the American Citizenship of the four kids she had in the US and that they will now from now on claim only the Nigeria passport or Citizenship.

Why you feel the need to make my post about denial is what I don't understand. In all you read in my posts, did you see any talk about denial. Ogbeni go back and assimilate. Long n short of my post is stop the insult and diss on Nigeria as a whole and her people. I am tired of 'Nigerians are this', 'Nigerians are that'... This place called Nigeria and her people have so much to be loved for biko. Is it too much to ask for, or is it strange that someone can 'rant' about this. So go back and read my so call rant and see that I wasn't 'ranting' about denial of visa. If a country say we don't want to give you visa, you travel to another country especially if it is tourism based. So gba be!

overlord77:

I know, right! The pain no be here.
Come to think of it, getting a visa approved is not a right, why get upset.

Nigerian embassies abroad also deny some applicants na,haba.

If all the people you surround yourself with whenever you visit America are those who live from hand to mouth, it says a lot about you too. Show me your friends and I’ll show you who you are. Birds of the same feather flock together.

Some of you love throwing fallacies about how every Nigerian in America is suffering. If only you knew otherwise. If you ever get your visa back, and you’re ever in the West Coast of the United States, holler at me. All bills on me. Then you’ll know life is Gucci for me and my family. grin cool

There is nothing typical about this Nigerian. This particular Nigerian has decided to love herself and her country and not allow you to throw her country under the bus no matter what you think. Not to go back to the arguments but if you all turn around to hound us for your inadequacy don't blame us. I had my 4kids at different times they were not quadruplets and all on medical visa and each time, I presented my payment receipts. Now everything is so wrong with my payments. Nobody leaves Nigeria on birth tourism and spend as low 10k dollars cumulatively. So yes give me back all the monies I spent on each time, I still v my receipts and I will gladly give u back their passports. Personally, I v seen American citizens drive taxis, do menial jobs etc which goes to show that America is not heaven and does not give visas to heaven. so what is the whole buohaha about people becoming citizens through birth that you all v ganged all to bring up one matter against them. From calling them anchor babies to calling their parents liars, cheats and fraudsters. I am even beginning to see you all as bitter people and you v not said what is vexing you all on this birthing thing. People use addresses in the US to open bank accounts, nobody called them out for it o. Indians, chinese, koreans etc they use rhe same self pay agreement and you still give them visas. Wetin Nigeria do una. If una wan marry us tell us and stop this open hatred hidden love. If there is a problem in your system fix it and stop attacking those who did nothing. There are countries you cannot survive a long time there when your stay expires. I bet you that most people here insulting Nigeria and her citizens and carrying this matter on their head are even VOs. Una dooo. You won't stay there forever o.

Granted nobody wants anyone to over run them in their homes (and this is the only reason I v been ascribing to all these) and if this is so, shut it down nah, UK did so, so it wont be a first. Stop playing the card of big father to all, very accommodating country yet you are taking on countries you feel can't do anything. If my government won't say a word about this racial treatment, me I won't keep quiet o. Don't call me a thief cos I stole nothing, don't call me a fraud cos I didn't defraud nobody, don't even try to analyze me cos you don't know shit about me. Open this matter up to be subject of litigation and let's see how you will fare even in your courts. That you gave a quote and reduced it into agreements which we executed by signing and you turn around to say we defrauded you. How? I mean I am screaming 'how?'.

Omo las las ehn we go dey alright, Americans in a bid to show that Nigerians are bad, they are exposing themselves and showing that they are not as high tech as they v made people think. I read through pages and at first I was angered by some statements and mentality that Nigerians are the worst people on earth and I suddenly realised that a lazy man will complain of his tools and that people will normal fight those they think they are stronger than. Someone saying go and tell VO this and see whether bla bla bla. Omo highest you say you no give me visa and Omo person no go die ooo. Nothing thrills me about the America and this whole issue about discount and address on birth certificate is actually annoying, because America should be concerned about its own house than outsiders. Watch it oo, fall is inemittent. Before I travelled to the US I thought it was everything but now I know better. Nothing dey there oo. The economy bleeds their citizens that these people can hardly find time for leisure. No wonder they beef Nigerians. Nigeria sweet die, make una carry una country go o. If you dont want people giving birth in your country abolish it. Nigeria no good, e no good but daily you carry our money in billions under the guise of visa fees, shut your borders and see how u survive. You people should look within yourselves and solve your issues and stop giving Nigeria a bad name to kill us. If fraud happens in your country then you are not world best as you claim. (Kini big deal) I love my country die and I no go lie. I born for una country na because I like to and una allow am, so stop beefing. I don't intend to apply for visa to your country so don't bother. I will choose to travel to Dubai 20times before I choose America. When my children grow up, they can decide whether I made a good choice for them until then, make una carry go.

Vwne:
I have been following the thread for a while now and I wrote IELTS GT (MOD IDP) for the first time on July 6, 2019. Thankfully, the result came out as LRWS 9, 9, 7.5, 8.5

I would like to share some tips on the listening part. I understand it may not work for some but I think it helped me.

I used Cambridge books to prepare and increased the speed of audio playback (on exam day, the audio felt slower and I had more time to focus). It was difficult initially but I soon got used to listening to the audio, following the questions, and taking notes at the same time.

Before the narrator starts, I skim through the questions, underline key words and think of synonyms while predicting possible answers (or the format the answers could take). Sometimes, there are 'false start' answers; where the narrator corrects the answer while narrating (kindly pay attention).

https://ieltsonlinetests.com/ielts-exam-library#general-training is good for practice. Their listening test audio is faster than the usual Cambridge audio.

IELTS Liz, English Emma and E2 Language channels on YouTube are fantastic resources as well.

I can share the materials I used if you request.

I agree with you on the vibes, but it isn't my fault God blessed me with twin babies for my second trip. I have read many people who have done even 3 missionary journey. Again, my visas were both medical visas. That said. On getting home and going over the incidence of the interview, I feel really angry. For her to say that it wasn't possible to birth twin babies thru a CS and pay the amount I paid implied that I ran away from the US without paying my bills, I forged the documents I presented to her and I am a liar, n a fraud. Most people who use HNWMC pay much less. My bill got to that level cos they were twins in the first instance. My God! Yet such decision is not appealable. Isn't there a way to register such grievances. I need to clear my name. Only God know what she typed into that system. It could just be...bla bla bla lied about her bills or bla bla bla didn't pay her bills. I seriously need to clear my name for my children's sake

KaraDanvers:
Nah. It's kinda clear from this interview that the VO's mind was made up. The vibes are like senatornuella has reaped enough from the US and should not bother applying again. She didn't use tax payers money in anyway which makes it really weird. You can't truly say that they don't know about discount pricing. They see it all the time at interviews and POE. They must have even researched it so the VO can't claim ignorance.

Thank you. The whole thing got me irked. I mean I told her that the Bill sent to me for the process was in the correspondence exchanged btw me n the doctors for each of my trips n which I put before her but she was past reasoning. That wasn't an interview! The moment I told her I had 3 US babies she exclaimed like she was saying 'whaaaaat who let you pass through'. Each of this journey took good money out of our pockets. Flights, accommodation, bills n shopping for both trip I expended more that $60,000 which is over N20m into their economy. My hubby even added that we spent well over the hospital bills for those trips n could v afforded it even if it were otherwise, still it made no difference. I don't even feel like applying again. I can travel to any other part of the world. I don born chillden finish and they are citizens, nothing changes that. I will use my money somewhere else o

I think it is important to address how the "so-called" discounted price is calculated with doctors as it seems that many Visa officers and unaware of this and educating the people that are applying for their Visa's seems to be the best option for everybody.

I don't know what went wrong

I have 4 children, they are all US citizens. I came back from my last missionary journey in Jan. My husband wanted alone time with me and asked we renewed our visa. I applied for Dropbox for just I and my husband and we got invited for 221g interview. Today was the interview and here is my transcript:
Vo: you were in the US in 2017
Me: Yes
Vo: how long did you stay
Vo: 3months, and my husband 3weeks
Vo: why
Me: I went to have my babies
Vo:how many children do you have
Me: 4, all in the states. The last one were twins
Vo: let me see your receipts
I handed them over and she took like 10mins going through them then types for long then says
Vo: you paid a total of what for your twin children?
Me: I had then in Houston northwest and I paid a total of 8650 for hospital n doctor Dr xydas and 1500 for pediatrician.
Vo: for a CSC?
Me: Yes.
Vo: No that is not possible (emphatically ) you had twins with a CS n paid that amount. I am sorry you do not qualify for a visa.
Me: but I paid all my bills and all the receipts are there
Vo: thank you for keeping good records but you didn't pay all your bills. Cs in the US cost 20-30k dollars n you had twins. Not possible to pay this. I am sorry

Omo well did I go wrong.
