Car Talk / Re: TICAD7: Toyota seals deal to site Assembly plant in Ghana (Video) by seniwellsFX: 5:27pm On Aug 30, 2019
gabicon:
we need to think deeply about these things. It will be foolish for Toyota to setup an assembly plant in Nigeria because Nigeria does have a market for new automobile. let's analyze it, in Japan, USA, UK, Germany etc, a graduate who gets his first job can afford to buy a new car via a flexible payment plan. We don't have such a system in Nigeria, instead the likes of Coscharis, Innoson, and Nissan that assemble cars in Nigeria have to depend on banks, a few companies, government purchase via civil service, security agency, and MDA's to survive. Toyota coming to Nigeria will simply mean that they are here to compete for government purchases it simply doesn't make any business sense. And before we point fingers at Buhari, this trend has been in play for more than 20years, Nigeria has a huge population with low purchasing power that can't afford new vehicles.
Unfortunately, you are making zero economic sense with this statement of yours. I guess you are trying to shift blame from lame buhari by saying this trend started 20years ago. Do you know the cost of shipping a new or used car from overseas to nigeria? Do you know the cost, corruption and other unnecessary delays just a clear that car from our ports? Now if the said car is assembled in Nigeria, all of those cost won't be payed by the end user.making the said car more affordable. Individually, Nigerians are more than capable in buying new card in as much as the prices are not inflated due to external factors.

Car Talk / Re: Coscharis Debuts The All New BMW 7 Series In Nigeria (PHOTOS) by seniwellsFX: 4:58am On Jul 10, 2019
autojosh:

One of the most anticipated cars in recent times, the all-new BMW 7 series, is now available in Nigeria.

This beauty-on-wheels is currently available for viewing at the offices of Coscharis Motors - the sole franchisee of BMW brands in Nigeria.

The new BMW 7 series comes with a more distinctive, luxurious and outstanding dynamics.

It stands out with its prestigious, elegant appearance, superlative comfort and exceptionally sporty performance, a combination that only the this 7 Series delivers in its class.

Visually, the new BMW 7 Series looks like a completely new model – especially at the front and back. In many respects, it has become even more luxurious, with numerous highly advanced components. This includes more powerful and fuel-efficient petrol engines, a new, pioneering infotainment system and the latest driver assistance systems.

According to Cletus Aregbeshola, Marketing Manager for BMW, Coscharis Motors; “around three-and-a-half years on from the introduction of the sixth generation in 2015, the BMW 7 Series Sedan has undergone a wide ranging and effective updates. These updates have positioned the flagship model as a trendsetter, introducing world-firsts that are being copied by other manufacturers.”

The sixth-generation BMW 7 Series Sedan also sets standards in terms of providing both maximum ride comfort and a sporting and dynamic driving experience. This is due to an advanced chassis design complete with a self-levelling two-axle air suspension included as standard. With its intelligent mix of aluminium, high-strength steel and a body structure benefiting from magnesium and carbon reinforcements (Carbon Core), it also has the lowest weight amongst its competitors.

Other competitors such as the Audi A8, Porsche Panamera and Lexus LS lag considerably behind the two top models from BMW and Mercedes-Benz, both in terms of sales volume and in being perceived as the world’s most prestigious volume-produced luxury sedans (Rolls-Royce, Bentley and Maybach excepted). All models but the M760Li and 745Le xDrive are available in a short- and a long-wheelbase version.

Coscharis Motors offer sales and service networks for the BMW brands across Nigeria.

Currently, her BMW sedan range includes 7, 6, 5, 4, 3 and 2 Series. The X Range includes X6, X5, X4 and X3.

At Coscharis, orders have already been placed for this latest and first ever BMW X7.

Foreign Affairs / Re: Iran To Boost Uranium Enrichment Starting Sunday — President by seniwellsFX: 2:22pm On Jul 03, 2019
tundess:
The "Javanka" middle East peace plan is DOA; You cannot buy everything and everyone off with money. And the kiss of death to the plan is when double-indicted Netanyahu endorses said plan. Apartheid regime loading and hence Israel's increasing international isolation. When Arch Bishop Desmond tells you he knows apartheid when he sees it, you know wahala dey.
Iran is back to its pre-JCPOA mindset; whatever strikes or provocations the US/Israel/ duoply concoct, aided by MBS and the Emiratis, the Iranians are braced. They have had 40 years of US-sponsored aggression against the IRI. And to give some perspective, Iraq had a population of approx 25M. Iran has a population of 70M+. The US is still in Iraq. Imagine attempting to subdue Iran. Also, Iran will fight assymetrically. Northern Israel will be hit by Hizb'u'Allah missiles. Don't forget the Lebanese shia have been fighting in Syria and have acquired formible expertise. The much vaunted Israeli army was stopped dead in its tracks the last time they had a major ground operation in southern Lebanon. The Lebanese are not stone-throwing Palestinian kids.
The Syrian Arab Army is in the process of annihilating the western created, armed and funded unicorn "rebel" army in Idlib, with Russian assistance; Assad ain't going no where. He will rebuild and then start applying pressure re the Golan Heights.
The Yemeni-Saudi war is continuing apace; The bodies of dead children and of starvation are first to the mill of the wahhabist Sunni terrorists.
FUKUS manipulation of the OPCW reports about "chemical" weapons use by Assad has been discredited. Trump came into office with the opinion that global bodies should not get in the way of US pre eminence, so UNHCR, OPCW, UNDP etc, open to security service manipulations. The historical view is that of Powell at the UN with vials. Would you believe the US now that says Iran has nukes ?
No Korea talks have been reduced to handshakes and sound bites. China is in control and is leveraging NoKo influence in her trade talks with Trump. It is well known that NoKo techies exchanged info with their Iranian counterparts.
On top of all this, we saw the mass hysteria when tankers were attacked in the strait of Hormuz. Next year is election year in the US. Whilst the economy is good, it rests of shaky foundations (massive debt, QE and no real investment). Whilst reserves are aplenty, the economy does not need a ME war.
I recommend MENA (mid east, N. Africa) experts like Pablo Escobar @ Asia Times, The Saker, etc
Completely agree with your political illustration of the issue at hand. It shows how vast you are in international politics. But I completely disagree with you on the macro economic picture you painted about the US. The FED stopped QE few years back with continues increase in interest rates. The US currently has the highest fixed income yields across G10 economies and current macro economic data has being stellar with tight labour market.

US can even cancel your visa if you are transiting through one of the countries they have a check...
I don't believe US will just decide to cancel your Visa because one is on transit from Sudan, north korea or Venezuela except you are involved in some dubious group or activity that is under their radar. Or your visa is to enter US. Even with that, you must have done something bad that warrants them to cancel your Visa. Mind you, there are citizens from Sudan, North Korea and Venezuela resident in America

If the money is legitimate, why not declare on the customs form?
international aviation law doesn't warrant passengers on transit to fill custom forms. You only do that in the country of your final destination

If one is transiting a country and is not filling a customs declaration form, then they have no right to seize the funds.
Why should they even seize a transiting passenger's funds?
just a sign of another ignorant style of doing things in africa. Just like you said, a transiting traveler has no business whatever with the country he or she is transiting from. One can only declear funds if the country is the final destination of the traveler. Maybe Ethiopia is going through cash crunch, so they came up with such policy so as to raise additional income as a nation

Okay, it worked so well in Rwanda back in 1990s.

The Hutu just had to deal with those Tutsi cattle herders for years of oppression and injury.

And by the time the dust settled 800000 people were dead. Many of them were Hutu by the way. Killed by their fellow tribesmen.

An eye for an eye makes the world go blind. It has happened before, and it can happen again. Stop turning history upside, down..

No, the solution is to call the police.

Yes, our police are imperfect, and yes, they might let the thug get away..

But this one, does it solve the problem? Does the guy killed know anything about the case?

You Nigerians, yes....Fulanis and other tribes...you refuse to trust the police, and you want to take the laws into your own hands. Ok....just know that that is how you start a neverending cycle of violence.

Vote for politicians who would strengthen our police. Vote for politicans who would also plan better for Nigeria.
All this rubbish you vomit believing that you are making a point only exposes you as a fulani or a fulani sympathizer. Or you are obviously not a Nigerian. So what ever your stand may be, to hell with you and your minions here. Now na knacking knacking things. You back us, we nack you back. State security forces are compromised according to our observation as well as stated by TY danjuma and obj. We have no faith in your police.

Barbarians.

This is what happens when people refuse to trust the Police. Yes, the police is not perfect...but they are there for a reason.

Let's not take the laws into our hands...before it spirals out of control...and more innocent people die.

Modified...

I am not defending Fulanis at all....I am just saying that there are better ways to handle crime. Taking the law into one's hands would only make things worse.

What's wrong with this low mentality, crude, crass and unintelligent governor.

The sensible and legal thing to do is to obtain a court order and send in the police to enforce it instead of sending thugs to disrupt and destroy legitimate businesses.

This is why credible businesses don't venture into that part of Nigeria.

This is sad..
Wow...so you can be this rational in your thinking. When wike set a panel of enquiry to investigate the financial recklessness of ameachi and passed it to efcc, what did they do with it? Why you are treated same way you treat others, then you suddenly remember due process and rule of law. Swine
