PoliticsJonathan Adds Turai's Name To Ministerial List by sentix(op): 10:47am On Apr 01, 2010
We are in trouble!!!!

NIGERIA NA REAL ARRANGEE GOVERNMENT!!

Acting President Goodluck Jonathan took Nigerians by surprise Wednesday with his last-minute nomination of President Yar'Adua's wife, Turai, for a ministerial position.

Mrs. Yar'Adua's subsequent confirmation by the Senate instantly took her into the history books, not only as the first ever Nigerian First Lady to simultaneously hold a cabinet-rank position, but also as the only Nigerian ever to be screened for a ministerial position in absentia.

The inclusion of the First Lady's name in the list of nominees took the Senators by surprise, becoming known only after the final batch of nominees had been screened. Moments after Mr. Segun Aganga, the last of the candidates scheduled for Wednesday, took his bow before the Chambers, the Special Adviser to the President on National Assembly Matters, Mohammed Abba-Aji, was sighted making his way to the front of the chambers, where he spent minutes conferring with the Senate President.

Bharti moves closer to seal $9 bln Zain Africa deal

By Devidutta Tripathy

NEW DELHI (Reuters) - Bharti Airtel looked set to wrap up its $9 billion deal to buy most of Kuwaiti telecom group Zain's African assets, giving India's top mobile operator a foothold in the frontier market in its third attempt.

Bharti, which failed twice to acquire African telecoms operator MTN Group, is desperate to expand in new markets, as cut-rate competition in its home turf -- the world's fastest growing -- squeezes margins and clouds growth outlook.

Controlled by billionaire Sunil Bharti Mittal, who started his career selling bicycle parts in India, Bharti is battling newcomers such as Norway's Telenor and Tata Teleservices, part owned by Japan's NTT DoCoMo.

"It's a good deal because Africa is the last bit left among emerging markets. And Bharti gets access to a lot of synergies in value-added services," said Girish Trivedi, deputy director of the South Asia and Middle East technology team at consultancy Frost & Sullivan. "Imagine the time it would have taken them to build a leadership position in so many countries through greenfield expansion?"

Well I used to use it before. All you need to do is to power off the phone and then connect it to the system. Allow the phone to show the battery charging and then power on the phone. That was how i used it for almost 6 months.

Hope this helps

ComputersRe: Amazing Windows 7 by sentix(m): 10:05pm On Dec 18, 2009
I dont know what is wrong with this Mac boys. Try installing wolfenstein 3d on a mac or linux box. Also try installing any software that is more than 8 years old on any mac or linux and see what you get. Only Windows gives your the ability to create your own programs, install what ever program your like and do what ever you dream of. Why should I spend 240k on a system that I must be content with whatever it comes with. Try installing the newest hardware on a linux or mac system and see trouble.

If something is good please accept dont find faults. If your windows 7 is giving your problems that I advise you to UPDATE!!!!!!

Like the update that apple sold for 29 dollars.

Even Federal Government cannot run their 'legal' refinery why should they bother to close the ones that other people are running even if it is illegal. And all the money they make selling crude oil does not have effect on our lives.

Takes for ever to get the tiniest bit of information from most of them by mail.
Nairaland GeneralYar'adua's Christmas Gift - Fuel Scarcity by sentix(op): 8:28am On Dec 16, 2009
At a time when the whole world is moving forward we are still crawling and we are doing do backwards. At a time when every country is trying to make sure that their citizens have something to celebrate in this recession. All we can do is find reasons for people to be sad and frustrated.

It beats my imagination what kind of government we have.
PoliticsRe: Can A Nigeria Police Refuse Bribe? by sentix(m): 8:45am On Feb 18, 2009
Hi guys,
Well you don't have to give any policeman a bribe provided you can do the following:

1. You have a lot of time on your hands

2. Do not argue with them, ask them to take you to the police station (which might be hours later cus they will carry your around with them or stay in a place for a long time)

3. There is somebody you can call or you have the phone numbers of some high ranking officers (navy, police or army)

4. You are an all go no quits person.

I have had numerous runins with them and have always refused to back down. But I am usually saved by my brother who call their area commander. If you don't have all these be wise.
