No Etebo, No Problem – How Rohr Lined Up Eagles Midfield During Training Ahead Of Brazil Friendly

The Super Eagles of Nigeria are presently having their first full training session ahead of Sunday friendly game against Brazil under the watchful eyes of the technical crew of the team led by coach Gernot Rohr, Owngoalnigeria.com reports.
Already the coach has worked out a way to make up for the absence of Oghenekaro Etebo who pulled out of the game due to an injury yesterday bringing to four the number of players who have pulled out of the game.
Just like it was in the case of Ola Aina, Rohr didn’t replace Etebo unlike the duo of Samuel Kalu and Kenneth Omeruo who were replaced by Viv Solomon-Otabor and Tyronne Ebuehi respectively.
In the ongoing training session, Rohr lined up the trio of Alex Iwobi, Wilfred Ndidi and Joe Aribo as his midfield three for one team and later replaced Aribo with newly called up Ramon Azeez as he bid to find the right mix in the absence of Etebo.
For now it’s a straight fight between Azeez and Aribo for the spot of Etebo with Aribo presently favoured to get the nod ahead of the Granada man who is staging a return to the team after a five years absence.

Guess its time to see the much talked about midfield trio of Ndidi-Aribo-iwobi

If Valdez and Kluivert don't see eye to eye then one has got to leave for the progress of the team, whether Valdez or Kluivert.

Kluivert's role is to make sure our cadet teams play the barca way, he is bound to clash with cadet team coaches.
The issue is, kluivert wanted Valdes to play 433 in a game where he had no wingers available. Valdes disobeyed and played a 4312 with the two attackers playing as wide forwards and the midfielder behind them playing as a false 9. He won that game 5-0.

My question is, can barcelona's pattern only be played with 433?
Valverde plays his boring 442 when he likes, why wasn't anybody bothering him?

I have been following Valdez since his appointment and he's been doing well, which is what saddens me.

Barcelona have sacked Juvenil A head coach Victor Valdes with immediate effect, amid rumours of a bust-up with Patrick Kluivert behind the scenes.

Disgraceful from kluivert and the board. Valdes get strong head but he was obviously doing something right.

Of course. Just pointing out how messi is heads and shoulders above everyone else. Normal football conventions dictate that the things he does should not be possible for someone his age. I mean, some others stopped doing those things like a decade ago and are still hailed for being 'super-efficient'. Messi still does those things and manages to keep his efficiency. Unreal.

As for Mendy, it's a loose loose situation for both Mendy and Chuwks. Chukwueze couldn't get past Mendy, yet Mendy couldn't contribute to the attack, cos he was busy man marking Chukwueze.

He was pocketed today because he is a very predictable player and apparently hasn't learned anything from his Algeria match at AFCON. Please tone down on the hype. The guy is average at best for now. All this hype should instead be heaped on Ndidi; the only sunshine I see in the dark clouds that is the current SE squad.

Do you know the reason mendy was given his full debut yesterday? Put Marcelo in his place and chukwueze would have him for dinner. Look how pegged back mendy was, rarely offering attacking support while chukwueze was on the pitch. Chukwueze was subbed out in the 55th minute and in the 56th minute, mendy was already joining the attack (he would continue to do so till the game ended).

Mendy matched chukwueze in defense but rarely went forward to deliver crosses which is an integral part of zidane's game. Chukwueze's mere presenceon the pitch forced that discipline.

Their plot lines are arranged in non-linear fashion in that you'd have to be on your toes to piece together the jumbled pieces. They're like a jigsaw puzzle. Basically, these tv shows encourage one to concentrate. They are cognition stimulants.

And the good thing about these shows is that putting together the pieces brings an additional eureka moment. It feels like you're enjoying something so esoteric, something so common but yet enjoyed by a certain few. That, in itself, is an extreme source of entertainment to some.

Semedo is just about an average player and haven't done anything at Barca.
