Christianity EtcRe: How Can I Be Free From Sin Completely? by Settright(m): 9:05pm On Nov 29, 2020
It is good that you know you sin and I hope you do ask for forgiveness but it will be much better to stop sin. It will take determination and your willingness to submit to the person of Christ. Faith cometh by hearing and hearing the word of God. Study the word of God the more and pray unto God.

EducationRetracing The Lost Glory Of Education Sector In The Country by Settright(op): 2:39pm On Sep 14, 2020
RETRACING THE LOST GLORY OF EDUCATION SECTOR IN THE COUNTRY
Overtime one will begin to wonder if actually what was sang into our ears when we were young, which seems to be national anthem is actually true, that education is the best legacy parents can give to their children. If one will compare the current happenings in our society and what was obtained in the past, one will be filled with doubt. Our society has grown up to be a place where merit is no longer consider in selection anymore. I'm very sure the octogenarians and above amidst us will actually be able to testify to this that this is never the country they grew up with but overtime things have fallen apart, we no longer appreciate brain work. The country has turned out to be a place whereby before you get to any position or get admitted into schools of higher learning it is on the basis of who you know.
When impunity becomes order of the day things will actually fall apart. Education is really the best legacy a citizen could have from both parents and government at his or her tender age, education is the root of any development. People in my category were not born during the era of Chief Obafemi Awolowo but many of us have his story on our lips, up till date after so many years of his demise, many generations after him still benefits from his selfless contribution in the education sector and till date the western region of the country is more developed because many of them were privileged to know the value of education, courtesy of Chief Obafemi Awolowo. What will the elders of this generation use to convince the youth of this generation that education is the best? When they could see people without education making it in a big way compared to their counterparts struggling to make it through education.
No doubt about it with the way we are handling education in this country we are sitting on a gun powder which will soon explode if care is not taken. Majority of our leaders and those that matters in the society who can question those in elective position are selfish because they can afford their children schooling abroad not knowing, this has its way of causing havoc on the economy of the country. The little foreign exchange which would have been useful for other things are spent on education which wouldn’t have been necessary if our education sector is in good position in the first place. How will our economy thrive when we spend on things we can actually achieve here in our country? The greatest disservice any leader could do to his people is to pay leap service to the education sector, such a leader has successfully put its citizen in the dark whereby they can’t even ask for their right.
Though such leaders might be winning right now because they are able to acquire wealth illegally but certainly they will lose at some point. If the citizens go into illegality activity who should take the blame if not those that refuse to make things work well. Before I drop my pen, I will like to offer my suggestion, if anything will be better in this country, we must actually get both our education and politics right within the same period because either of them will not work unless they both improve at same time. In the same vein if the education sector will be better the politicians both those appointed or elected must be mandated to make sure all their children school here in the country, not just schooling here but made to go to government owned schools, with that they will be aware of what is going on in the education sector. No doubt about it, we have missed the road a long time ago and we need to retrace our steps back before it’s too late.

PoliticsRe: Nicholas Mutu: Abandoned NDDC Projects Of Lawmaker Mentioned By Akpabio by Settright(m): 11:26pm On Jul 30, 2020
I was opportune to be posted to Odurubu for my service year but due to my health been so precious to me I decide not to stay in the village and i decide to stay in the local government headquarters though I would have love to stay to teach the student of odurubu college but I had to redeploy to d headquarter, because they lack physics teacher which was what I had to teach them for a short while. For the lawmarker not to have see to it that this wonderful project are completed is a great disservice to is people. My short stay in odurubu was great but the students life have been short change because of their leader who have mortgage their life's no electricity, no internal road, no health care facility. They only have one government secondary school.
Nigeria needs help because people like this don't know their right, the education that would have been use to open their eye is in great shambles. Until we all rise to put our leaders on their toes things will not work well

EducationLandlord Vs Students by Settright(op): 10:37am On Jul 16, 2020
LANDLORD VS STUDENTS
It's no longer a news, black and white alike are faced with a situation which has brought the world to it's knees. Many are dying and many will still die due to the pandemic. No doubt about it that as a result of the pandemic, economy keeps going down each day many are losing their jobs, death toll kept rising, no doubt the whole world is a victim of the pandemic.

Due to this pandemic, there is a surge in rape cases in Nigeria and if adequate measures are not taken, the next pandemic in the country might be between the landlord and students as unpaid rent might lead to jungle justice and death if adequate measure are not taken.

This piece reminds me of my days in the University before the Advent of this economy crises, I could see how some students suffer before they could get their school fees paid talk less of their house rent. Many rely on their friends to have a roof on their head, some had to scout in school hostels which is not easy at all as porter keep disturbing but in this economy crunch what will be the fate of students as schools are preparing to resume. There is a need for government intervention to take drastic steps to help the students. Though palliatives had been rolled out to cater for different groups, none of it actually faced the students.

All hands must be on deck so that the lives of young talented Nigerian which are the leader of tomorrow are not wasted on issues that can be easily averted. Accommodation is very important to students after school fees and as it stands, many house rent has expired during the course of this pandemic. What will the fate of some students who are few months away from graduating before the advent of covid-19 be? Many landlords will stop at nothing until they get the rent as this is their own source of income too.

We have seen in so many cases where landlord do unimaginable things to students all in the name of paying rent. This is a wake-up call for government in all level to help Nigeria students. These two set of people need the help of the government so that the Newsline in coming weeks will not be awash with jungle justice against students as it is about rape cases.

Support the
Students lives matters, say no to jungle justice.
The youths are leaders of tomorrow
Protect the young
Protect the future.
