And what about Ben Idahosa who died of a heart attack at a very young age? Or Bishop Oluputaife (I think) who was killed by Robbers?

Layi, Layi. Unsubstantiated stories. You have forgotten that Tai Solarin "mocked" more than anybody else and he lived longer than almost every Nigerian pastor that we know. Maybe we should ban unverified miracle stories just the same way NBC banned unverified miracle broadcasts?
Christianity EtcRe: Pastor Adeboye Says Satan Planned 49 Plane Crashes by Seun(mod): 2:49pm On Jan 07, 2006
No, this one is real and as you can see I was not even the first to mention it.

Aviation. Some of you will remember. (This is not part of the prophecy, I am just telling you history now} Last year, I asked you to fast for 49 days, if you check the 3 crashes that occurred, they happened within 49 days. I asked you to fast and pray, some of you did, some of you didn't. God honored those of us who prayed. The plan of the enemy was, that there was to be a crash per day for 49 days, and you prayed and God intervened.

Christianity EtcRe: Pastor Adeboye Says Satan Planned 49 Plane Crashes by Seun(mod): 2:36pm On Jan 07, 2006
My respectful questions for Pastor Adeboye:
- How did the enemy plan to prevent the president from grounding all local airlines after the first 2 or 3 plane crashes?
- What time exactly was the prescribed 49 day fasting period and did it coincide with the crashes?
- How come a dedicated woman of God was present in one of the 3 planes out of 49 that God permitted to crash?

CrimeRe: Pyramid Schemes: Quick Way To Make Lots Of Money? by Seun(mod): 1:36pm On Jan 07, 2006
A pyramid scheme is a non-sustainable business model that involves the exchange of money primarily for enrolling other people into the scheme, usually without any product or service being delivered. Pyramid schemes have existed for at least a century. In addition, other methods of conducting business known as multi-level marketing (MLM) and as "matrix schemes" often closely resemble pyramid schemes (although unlike pyramid schemes, which are almost always frauds, MLM and matrix schemes are in many cases regarded — at least legally — as legitimate business methods).

Most pyramid schemes are attempts to confuse potential consumers into complicated but convincingly fool-proof money making scams.

Christianity EtcRe: Pastor Chris Oyakhilome: Interview/Comments by Seun(mod): 11:52am On Jan 07, 2006
Anointed Pastor Chris Oyakhilome of Christ Embassy has exposed a plot by the Almighty God and his angels to put a stop to the broadcasting of miracles on Nigerian television. During the shocking exposé, he narrated how all efforts to get his miracles verified have been mysteriously frustrated.
It is a joke and I composed it. I'm not surprised that people are confused about its truth. The reason I picked him of all the Nigerian pastors for my story is that I know that he is a gentleman who preaches a gospel of love and shuns the attitude of "judgement, judgement" that donnie has obviously fallen into.

FamilyRe: Male Gender - Whats Up With This Mother & Son Bond? by Seun(mod): 12:33am On Jan 07, 2006
I don't think traditional (Yoruba) Nigerian daddies care about bonding with their children. They just want to flog them when they make mistakes, and hear "yes daddy" whenever they bark out their orders.

There was a report that the US has presented a list of five Nigerians who are caable of leading this country:

1) A former world bank official (obviously my pick, Ngozi Okonjo-Iyeala)
2) A South East governor who has had running battles with Obasanjo (Orji Uzor Kalu?)
3) A retired military officer from the Middle Belt (Marwa, the recent EFCC Guest??)
4) An outspoken former speaker of the House of Representatives (??)
5) A serving minister who recently accused Senators of corruption (??)

PoliticsRe: Who The Heck Is As Capable As Obasanjo? by Seun(mod): 11:57pm On Jan 06, 2006
Correcting a Common Misconception: The presidency is not about managing the 130 million Nigerian citizens. It is about managing the executive arm of the government that governs the 130 million Nigerians. The executive arm consists of the various government parastatals, the army, navy, airforce and police period.

The size of the executive arm runs into several tens of thousands but it's definitely not 130 million, so there are private companies that are larger than the number of people that the president of Nigeria is supposed to manage.

Look at it this way: I am the administrator of this site but does this mean I manage 10,000 Nigerians? No, I only manage myself and whoever is working with me to manage this website.
ComputersRe: How To Upgrade My Computer Memory (EDO RAM) by Seun(mod): 11:02pm On Jan 06, 2006
It is possible that the RAM circuitry used on that computer's motherboard is so old that the 128mb chip simply won't work on it. Sorry about this, I think you should have done more research before buying that obviously outdated PC. These days any PC that is capable of accomodating less than 256mb of memory is useless.

PrettyH, let's be practical. I understand that we need to express the way we feel, but we should not ignore what BiBi has said about how we can protect ourselves by knowing who to call if something like that happens.

PoliticsThe State Of Nigerian Prisons And The Legal System by Seun(mod): 7:06am On Jan 06, 2006
I stumbled accross a BBC article that describes how Nigeria is planning to free up to 25,000 prisoners who are awaiting trial. Apparently it is normal in Nigeria for people to spend 10 years awaiting trial in our prison system (2 out of every 3 people you meet in a Nigerian prison are still awaiting trial). So anyone accused of a crime is basically finished.

Nigeria is to set free about half of all prisoners to reduce overcrowding.

Up to 25,000 people, including the sick, the elderly and those with HIV will be freed, said Justice Minister Bayo Ojo.

Those who have been awaiting trial for longer than the sentences they face and those whose case files have been lost by the authorities will also benefit.

Correspondents say many people wait up to 10 years, often in awful conditions, for their case to come to trial.

This is a very terrible and painful state of affairs; something that one doesn't even want to imagine. How can we fix it?
