He didn't suck the lead out of your body. If the lead came from your body, you would have felt it moving as he "sucked" it out. It's a cheap magic trick. He simply hid the lead in his mouth and pulled it out after sucking your body. What we don't know yet is why you felt better instantly.

I think atheists should come together from time to provide for each other the community and social bonding that religion provides. We can sing, not to a God, but to each other. Prayer is completely useless so we will skip that, and replace the sermons with special guest Q&As.

My favourite musical is Les Miserables, which is a Christian musical. The idea of having someone up there looking out for you is very attractive. It can motivate people to do good things. But it's a fantasy; to be enjoyed but not believed.

I don't condemn Christianity. I just try to demonstrate that its claims are not true. I don't want people to believe things that are false, because false beliefs have bad consequences. If you believe you can fly, you might jump off a skyscraper and fall to your death. I wish to prevent that.

I'm glad that you saw some merit in Dan Barker's argument. In this video, he tells the story of his deconversion from Christianity.

I can point you to peer reviewed papers from astronomers to brain scientists that are literally re-writing scientific knowledge in favor of the bible.

Please go ahead and do that, but you should know that Sam Harris is a "brain scientist" himself.

The problem Dan Barker raises can be generalized to the popular issue of a good God allowing evil.

The problem of evil is a strong point that has never been refuted, but Dan Barker actually tackled a completely different issue in the first video, which is that God deserves no credit for saving us from himself. It's like a person who wants to be praised for not murdering someone.

Religion doesn't have a monopoly on using music to promote itself. Music can be used by any group of people who have something to say.

My children would be allowed and encouraged to question anything that doesn't make sense, including the lyrics of the songs I teach them.

Atheists don't depend on themselves entirely. We depend on our fellow human beings who are real, e.g. family & friends, staff, mentors, etc.

What would really make my day is to listen to a recording of little kids singing "beware of dogma, it has a bite ... there's no excuse for ignorance anymore!" and "use your mind, and you will find, that nothing fails like prayer!" When this finally happens, it will be awesome.

Don't you guys like Dan's music? His songs were well received by the adult audience, but I see them as being much more suitable for kids.

Families are a human social construct that came long before religion. Men and women formed stable mating pairs to raise kids, just like birds.

Atheists don't need to force their children to be atheists. They can just teach their kids to think critically, which makes them immune to religion.

If it's ok for religious parents to teach their kids religious songs, I fail to see why atheists should not teach their kids anti-religious songs. It is appropriate for little children to be taught to have a skeptical attitude towards things that cannot be proven or demonstrated to be true.
