cirmuell: I made reference to something like this. He does his wishes though.Yea because it is clearly my wish to unban people I banned with my own fingers. Pls stop saying these sorts of things. |
bacca2: Seun Barcanista was banned because You and your team removed a thread on PDP's TAN Chieftain alleged Subsidy fraud, he opened a thread to ask WHY the closure, your supermod Mukina2 Apologised and restored the Thread. You seun banned me afterwards. I maintained and still maintain that it was a Ridiculous ban, you went ahead and ban barcanista handle for 1month. You also banned whatlyf for 10years Seun.It is not surprising that you are defending barcanista and insisting that he did no wrong since you are barcanista. The directive was to contact mods directly if you have any complaints instead of posting threads that cause situations to spin out of control but you did not obey it. And you have disobeyed another rule by creating a second account. Your party supports the enforcement of law & order, so pls learn to obey rules. |
Genius100: First Seun,We generally appoint people who spend a lot of time in the sections they are to moderate. In the case of Politics, they tend to be partisan. All the people who are not clearly pro-PDP are clearly pro-APC. It's difficult to find people who care about Politics a lot and have no bias. Second, your actions make it glaringly obvious that you definitely lean PDP/ GEJ.I am not so much pro-GEJ as I am pro freedom of speech, because Nairalanders will always criticize and insult any government in power. If certain people that are trying to get into power through APC are criticized the way President Jonathan is criticized, we will all be in trouble. That's not why I might be seen doing things perceived as pro-PDP. E.g. banning trolls who happen to be APC members or posting threads that happen to be in support of the Nigerian Army or Nigerian Government. I do these things to correct my moderating team's unintentional bias. |
Brahms: @Bold: That rule is not applicable here. Ngwakwe is a GEJ Supporter, Fact! How do you expect an Anti-GEJ to cooperate with him?It was me he refused to cooperate with. I said any complaints should be reported to mods or supermods and even promised to ban all violators. |
Younevajam: Give a attack-dogs an inch today, they'll ask for a mile tomorrow. We'll see how it unfolds. We will not accept any continued violation of our rules. We won't become any party's tool. But we will address all cases of apparent unfairness. |
egift: Seun, do see the suggestion on Nairaland Rule 22:Thank you for your suggestion. This more of a community issue than a political issue, so let us set it aside for now and remain focused. |
barcanista was originally banned for not coperating with the admin which is a violation of rule 20, which says: "20. Please cooperate with the moderators, super-moderators, and administrator. Treat them with respect." The admin who is the highest authority on Nairaland asked Nairaland members to report their grievances to the moderators using the Mail Mods feature or to the Supermods using the Mail Supermods feature, in order to resolve a serious situation. barcanista refused to cooperate with that and that's why he was banned. When he came back, he lied that he was banned for a "non-existing reason" which is false information. Rule 8. So the only condition under which such a person will be unbanned is if the person promises to start cooperating and stop posting false info. |
Sincere9gerian: This is taking partiality to a whole new level. Why would Seun set out to please only the supporters of APC to the extent of moving hardworking moderators? Dont members of other political parties also have grievances? This does not make sense and might end up as a very costly mistake. I wish all of you goodluck! We'll be impartial. We'll serve no party but the party of the common man who wants to be ruled by the best people regardless of their parties. barcanista was banned for lying against us. He said that he was banned for a non-existing reason and we don't ban people for such reasons. |
Actions Taken So Far: 1) I have posted an apology for mistakenly suggesting that APC fans support Boko Haram when in fact they don't. 2) Cramjones has been unbanned and will surely remain free as long as he continues to obey the rules of the forum. 3) Ngwakwe has been removed as a moderator of the Politics section but we will also remove other partisan mods. I will now investigate the issue of barcanista's ban. We cannot unban people just because you demand it, but we will review each case. |
Dear All, I hereby publicly apologise for indirectly implying that certain particularly passionate APC Fans support Boko Haram. APC Fans are patriotic Nigerians and as such, they are 100% in support of the question to defeat Boko Haram by our brave army and govt. Best regards, Seun Osewa. Brahms: Deactivate? Was expecting you to ban the Handle instead. What if he got banned wrongly again and needs to open a thread on it? Remember this not the first time he got banned for the same offence.Yes, I'll have to ban it as per the rules. If he gets banned again then as a law-abiding progressive he should follow the proper channel of mailing the mods or supermods or me. Creating another account is against the rules and we believe that rules must be enforced. |
NgeneUkwenu: Address our demands as outlined by me! Then we will finally unveil our grievances fully.Since no one has spoken otherwise I will assume that you are the leader or spokeswoman of the vigilant APC Progressives on Nairaland. I have implemented the unbanning of cramjones since it appears that he could be excused for the reason that was given for his ban. However, the alternate id he created in violation of rule 18 has to be deactivated as it's against the rules, & APC is not a rule-breaking party. |
I have also decided to transfer Ngwakwe to a different section of the forum since he's perceived to be biased. This is rather unfair cos he's been working hard, but I believe it will serve us well to have moderators who are less biased. |
branen: Again, Seun (Nairaland) banned me because of the following reasons Seun banned cramjones for Still impersonating a politician and trolling.. Ban expires at September 09, 2024 at 11:11:34 AM.I have decided to unban Cramjones. It seems that banning him for the reason of impersonation was a mistake on my part. However, please note that any comments alleging that I am on the payroll of a party will be treated as a violation of rule 8: "8. Don't post false information on Nairaland" Also note that your account branen will have to be disabled since it was created in violation of rule 19 which says: "19. Don't create a new account when banned for breaking a rule. If you do, make sure we don't find out." |
Dozzybaby: Sorry but the very fact that you referred to us as APC 'warriors' instead of supporters smacks of deceit and it comes across as condescending.I hereby apologize for this. I have changed the title of this thread and my first post. I will refer to you as APC Progressives. Hope this is ok? If you are sincere which I doubt, you need to open up and tell us which party you support. We can start from there. Most people will insist that they are neutral, but I believe in being open and honest. I am a Nigerian and so I naturally have an opinion about who I would prefer to have as a ruler over me. I am not an official member of any party. If I had the power to put a party or a person in power it would not be the current party or person that we have in power. I would choose honest and smart people who want to make Nigeria better. |
NgeneUkwenu: Seun! You called us Boko Haram Supporters, right? Before we start processing your demands, the other APC fans should please confirm that you are their contact person on Nairaland. 1. An open and unreserved apology to all APC supporters on Nairaland for calling them Boko Haram Supporters.(This should be stacked on topmost page of this Section for at least 2 weeks)Sure. We will do this. 2. Unban with immediate effect, all Pro APC monikers, you unjustifiably imprisoned. We do not believe that we have unjustifiably imprisoned anyone. If we did, then it must have been a mistake. Let us discuss each case openly. 3. Fire some moderators on politics section.Good suggestion. Some of the mods on the Politics section have not been active. The supermods have been doing all the work. This is bad. Ngene UkwenuCan the other APC progressives please confirm that Mr. Ngene Ukwenu is their chief contact person on Nairaland? What is his official position? |
Caracta: We are yet to feel them in real life. All words, no action.Actually, we have. Some of them have claimed responsibility for the data loss incident and I believe them. The timing supports their claim. |
gratieao: Law 10 Infection: Avoid the Unhappy and UnluckyShutting down the politics section is equivalent to shutting down Nairaland because it's by far the most visited section. How could we do that? |
timawoku: so why only APC? Does it mean its only APC dat breaks rules? Oga ade, diaris Godddu oooIt's not only APC. Anyone that breaks the rules, if I notice it, gets banned. And the mods from both sides have been instructed to do the same. |
My point of view is that we have rules, and when you break the rules, you should be banned. We cannot have order if we tolerate rule-breaking. As progressives, I'm sure we can agree on this. Where would Lagos be today if Governor Fashola did not insist that all laws must be enforced? |
Dear APC Progressives, I know you're unhappy about some things that you consider to be unfair. Why not let's discuss this issue openly, since we're reasonable adults? Best regards, Seun Osewa. Actions Taken So Far: 1) I have posted an apology for wrongly suggesting that APC fans support Boko Haram when in fact they don't. 2) Cramjones has been unbanned and will surely remain free as long as he continues to obey the rules of the forum. 3) Ngwakwe has been removed as a moderator of the Politics section but we will also remove other partisan mods. 4) Gbawe unbanned because I now realize that he truly believed what he said that led to the ban. 5) Barcanista unbanned for apologizing and an implied promise to stop breaking the rules. |
Please take note of the grave threats made on this thread so that if anything happens to me or to Nairaland, everyone will know who did it. |
Exmay: If you (and others) believe Seun has been paid by PDP, then let's praise the PR team of PDP for recognising the importance of this forum and at the same time try get across to the PR team of APC to offer a better Deal...I want change as much as anyone else. I would have voted for Ribadu last time if he had any chance of winning. What do I hate, then? I hate the manipulation of our platform using propaganda, lies, and bullying by people who have been paid to promote one party over the other. |
Thanks a million for these suggestions. We appreciate them very much. We appreciate all suggestions so pls share any more that you have. |
Which of them could withdraw boinking privileges if you don't take her side? ![]() |
Please continue this diary bro. |
I have an iPhone 5C with a broken screen. I've been fantasizing about 'upgrading' it for a better camera, and touch ID, but the problem with iPhones in Nigeria is their abysmal support for 3G browsing in areas with weak network signals (e.g. most places in Nigeria and rural areas elsewhere). You can't force the iPhone to use 3G signals in such situations; it keeps switching between modes, making the browsing experience awful. The only reason I have an iPhone is that I really enjoy using it as a basic phone for making phone calls, sending SMS messages, taking pictures, etc. Browsing on the iPhone 5C is surprisingly enjoyable but I have to use an Android phone as a hotspot for the iPhone. So sad. I don't think I'll enjoy making calls on the new iPhones as much as I do on my cute little iPhone 5C. First of all, there's the size. Then there's the ugly backs which people around me are going to see whenever I lift the phone to my ear. It's not worth it. I'll just repair the screen on my 5C. |
I don't know how exactly it happened, but one of the high-rise buildings belonging to the Synagogue, Ikotun, collapsed.. ...and a lot of people trapped in the building, died.https://twitter.com/_OOF_ |
whatlyf: You know the "Usual" place you get information...I don't understand. What do you think about this issue and what do you think I ought to do about it? |
This is unfortunate. I'd like to know what you think about this and what you think I should do about it. |
Slymonster: manslaughter has a minimum years of 15 but he can appeal it...lol if it was naija, murder na murder as far person die and na you kill am......Our justice system need to learn from this...It's a maximum of 15 years but he could get 7 to 10 years. The judgement sounds very fair to me. He was careless and someone died. |
