contra: @Seun, what if you make the "quote" icon behave like the "share" icon like what you've on Facebook. You might be able to track it that way.

This will stifle Nairalanders quite a bit. We often want to quote more than one person in the same post. We often want to break the quoted text into paragraphs or sentences so we can rebut the arguments made in each paragraph or sentence.

Can you post it as an attachment? I will resize it and send it back to you. You can also ask your designer to re-compress the original for you.

This is a much-requested feature but there's no bulletproof way to implement it. The ways we know would either cause you to be notified sometimes when you were not in fact quoted or there will be times when you would be quoted or mentioned but you won't get any notifications.

Ms Spaqs: My comment is directed at Seun,I have seen instances where some Nairalanders complained that their Usernames were edited by you it gives me concern cuz i wonder that if a Username can be changed by you wat else cant be changed.

A long time ago we may have changed some usernames for whimsical reasons, but nowadays we only change usernames in two situations:
1. If the user asks us to change his/her username to protect his/her privacy or security and we believe that the threat is credible.
2. If we think a user's name was clearly chosen to cause confusion by being very similar to a popular user's name. E.g. "Scun"

HisRib: Who knew Nairaland was "cheap men central"?! I'm simply appalled at the number of guys who've said they plan on proposing without a ring. You clearly have no consideration or respect for your future spouse. Reality is, every woman wants a ring -- and a beautiful one to be more precise.

Why not crowns? Crowns are more beautiful than rings. And more expensive too.

The engagement ring carries a symbol. It lets others know that the woman is officially taken. By putting a ring on her finger, you are saying "This is my woman & I want the world to know."

Putting a crown on her head will make the same statement, only much bolder! "You won't wear my crown? It means you don't lub me!"

The quantity of suggestions is not as important as the quality of suggestions. Ideas are not scarce, but good ideas are scarce and precious. It's better to discuss your suggestions publicly on threads like this one so we can find out how other Nairalanders feel about your suggestions.

From what I have read so far and from experience, it seems the best banks to do TB are:

FirstBank
Zenith Bank
Keystone Bank
Sterling Bank (My investment is here and it never fails, automatic rollover)

And the worst is
GTBank

Does anybody have additions or subtraction to the list, kindly add it. this will help our people invest in the right bank.

Can you be more specific about your reasons for saying GTBank is the worst bank for Tbill investment and that First Bank is one of the best?

mincuu: -Add a "Cancel" button to the 'New Post' or 'Reply Post'. I have looked for this button several times and can't seem to find it. Or, someone should help me out if I am missing it.

We feel it may not be necessary since you can just hit the back button on your browser ...

-Ads should be set to open on a new tab when it's clicked. As a constant web user, I may not like to navigate away from the present page when I click an Ad I'm interested in. This same system applies to sites that request for users to take a survey or a basic Google ad.

We feel it's not necessary since you can just right-click, ctrl-click, or long press ads to make them open in new windows. Forcing them to open in new windows will also make it impossible for people who prefer to open ads in the same window to do so; it will take away their choice.
