codeline: Romney believes in God and not a free thinker.
Romney is a Mormon and Obama is a Christian. If you want to judge on the basis of religion, and you're a Christian, then Obama is your man.

CNN: 48% said Obama did better and 40% said Romney did better.

EDIT: We're all watching CNN!

shymexx: Don't say that, money and electioneering can change the dynamics...
I think Obama's campaign has lots of money too - probably more.

ogugua88: My exam went well cool

What I want to ask Mitt Romney is, if you agree with President Obama so much, then why exactly are you running for president? Walahi, the man was just short of endorsing the president. Desperate attempt to come to the middle. Surprising? Hardly. Newt Gingrich warned republicans of this back in January.
I felt he actually tried to differentiate himself but that there was no consistent viewpoint behind his disagreements with Obama. He was more aggressive than Obama on some issues and more "peaceful" on other issues; whatever made him look good on TV. So you can't say "this is what Romney stands for and that's why I support him". The only thing he stands for is that he's not Obama and can talk really fast.

shymexx: Its 59% to Obama and 39% to Romney right now, but 2weeks is a long time...

They have the money to spend to sway the independent voters..
I think that's significant. Many people are voting for Romney because they feel he was a good governor, but the people he ruled don't like him.

omo_to_dun: Also interesting is the fact that Nigerians know more about the manifesto of American politicians than that of their leaders.
We know our leaders' manifestos. Thief thief, lie lie. There's not much to know, so it's boring. The nuance and complexity of the American system is awesome.

Sky Blue: I no talk say you get big nose. Romney was smart in this debate, fashi how you feel things went, Romney knew what he was doing. Obama could have done a tad better to be honest. Romney had SO MANY foreign policy gaffes to go after. Romney said something like ' the middle east is a lost cause'. Then less we forget the series of gaffes from Olympics, to Poland to Israel that Romney gaffed through. Obama could also have made it MORE apparent that Romney was presenting NO novel ideas with many things he was saying (from Iran to Israel). The list is endless.
If Obama spent all his time going after Romney's gaffes, he would not have had time to get his own message out. I think he was right to ignore many of them. His staff will run Ads to expose the gaffes Obamas could not expose in real time.

By his state I meant the state where he was the governor. Isn't that Massachusetts? Who is leading polls in Massachusetts? (Checking)

CFCfan: There was definitely a swapping of ideologies today. Romney was the peace candidate, while Obama seemed to be the warmonger.
Romney attacked Obama from a leftist, peace-loving perspective.
I don't think you can say that. He just tried to differentiate himself from Obama in ways that were supposed to make him look better on TV.
Foreign AffairsRe: Obama Vs Romney: US Presidential Debate On Tuesday October 23 2012 by Seun(mod): 3:46am On Oct 23, 2012
shymexx: I know why you feel that way...

However, he used to be a governor there and he achieved a lot as a governor..
And according to polls, he's losing to Obama in his state. I think that means he was not a very good governor.

FoodNestlé Responds To Golden Morn Discussion by Seun(mod):
Hello Peterwins. Thanks for your comment on Nestlé Golden Morn. I’m Iquo Ukoh from Nestlé Nigeria.

We apologise for the confusion caused by the information which was added to the product label in June, 2012. The product was labelled as “Golden Morn is not an infant cereal. We have decided to modify the label to avoid any further inconvenience. We continue to clearly mention it is not an infant cereal.

We always communicate information that help consumers make informed purchasing decision and we encourage our consumers to choose a variety of foods to meet daily nutritional requirements.
Here's a follow-up statement from Nestle addressing the reason for the label change:
In our efforts to improve the information we provide on our packaging, we decided to change the statement in June 2012, which coincided with a packaging and recipe change we have done on Nestlé Golden Morn to make your favorite cereal more nutritious and delicious. And we are delighted to inform you that Nestlé Golden Morn is now fortified with iron and vitamin A.

Nestlé would like to assure you that Golden Morn is a nutritious cereal that is absolutely good to consume by adults and children as part of a varied diet and is produced from best quality Maize and Soya grains however it’s not developed for infants because it’s not an infant nor weaning cereal.

EducationRe: Sheila Solarin Of Mayflower School Is Dead (Tai Solarin's Widow) by Seun(mod): 6:32pm On Oct 21, 2012
https://saharareporters.com/sites/default/files/imagecache/news-page-images-480-wide/page_images/news/2012/Sheila_solarin_0.jpg
Saharareporters has just learnt of the death of Sheila Mary Solarin (nee Tuer), the widow of Dr. Tai Solarin, one of once one of Nigeria’s foremost educators and agitators for social justice. With her late husband, she had founded the famous Mayflower School in Ikenne, Ogun State.

A family source told SaharaReporters that Mrs. Solarin died this morning at Babcock University Teaching Hospital in Sagamu, near Lagos. She was 88 years old.

The English-born Mrs. Solarin was a dependable ally of her husband who spent a lifetime fighting as a voice for the downtrodden Nigerian masses.

She and her late husband had two children, Corin and Tunde.

Our source disclosed that Governor Ibikunle Amosun was on his way to meet with and console members of the Solarin family. Funeral arrangements will be announced in due course, said our source.

PoliticsRe: Let's Have Your Complaints, Suggestions & Enquiries Here by Seun(mod):
Jarus: We mods can't move thread to frontpage. But Seun and Mukina, who have the power, are aware of this thread and the election thread as well. They will do the moving if they consider it hp-worthy.
That's misleading. I'm not aware of most threads on Nairaland. Moderators are required to suggest topics for the home page from their sections. Mukina2 is required to check every topic suggested by moderators, and give reasons if they don't make the home page. So if your thread doesn't make the home page, it has a lot to do with Jarus.

1. Can you post examples of those imflammatories we allowed on the home page. I can respond on each individual one.
2. Can you give an example of the relevant info you posted and that did not appear on the front page, for evaluation?
3. Not a good question.
4. What kind of reward are you expecting from Nairaland? Have you ever been rewarded by Facebook and Yahoo and Google?

BusinessRe: Nairaland Advertisers: Share Your Experience Here by Seun(mod): 9:39pm On Oct 17, 2012
There's no doubt about the fact that Nairaland Ads don't work for everybody. If your product is relevant to only a tiny segment of Nairaland users, our direct ad system won't work for you. It works best for products that are broadly appealing. That's one of the reasons why our latest pricing model demands a minimum commitment of 60,000 naira from every advertiser - this causes those whose products are not a good fit for Nairaland Ads to lose interest, and the resulting increase in average campaign length gives us more time to help to improve campaigns that are not working. We now have many advertisers whose ads are a perfect fit for our platform, so we feel it's a big improvement.
