PoliticsRe: Does Seun Support Gej Or He Just Hates Buhari? by Seun(mod): 9:51am On Apr 15, 2011
efisher:
Anybody who values freedom of speech and expression, such as the one you enjoy on nairaland, will NOT support Buhari. Buhari has always been a human rights violator amd an enemy of the press. Seun is only fighting for us nairalanders. Allow him do his bit.
Exactly.

I thought the open-secret ballot process was supposed to prevent issues like this. Why didn't people protest?
PoliticsACN And CPC Have Failed To Reach An Agreement by Seun(mod): 6:30pm On Apr 13, 2011
P.M.NEWS gathered that earlier deliberations by the parties at the meeting had concluded that the party which performed best during the National Assembly elections will produce the presidential candidate while the other will then tell its supporters to vote for the consensus candidate.

In this case, ACN which had more National Assembly members than Buhari’s CPC was expected to produce the consensus candidate but representatives of Buhari reportedly backpedaled, insisting that the retired general should be the consensus candidate because he still has broad support in the North despite his party’s dismal performance during the National Assembly elections last Saturday.

The ACN representatives, it was learnt, were unhappy with the turn of events and decided that the parties should test their strength on the political turf.

I think these journalists should stop interpreting the Wikileak cables for us.
Post the full text of the Wikileak cable and we'll interprete it ourselves.  Thanks.
PoliticsRe: Breaking News: Inec Suspends Nass Election Results For Bayelsa State by Seun(mod): 1:14pm On Apr 13, 2011
But there were irregularities. How can you blame PDP for the irregularities and violence and also blame them for cancellation of the election due to the irregularities and violence? That makes no sense; you can't have it both ways.

PoliticsRe: Spokesperson Threatens Next Editor Over Story On Petroleum Minister by Seun(mod): 8:13pm On Apr 11, 2011
You can read the story here: http://234next.com/csp/cms/sites/Next/Home/5688389-146/story.csp

The allegations are weighty, specific people are named, but the evidence is a joke.  We deserve better.

They didn't need to name the minister.  It made the story seem like a hatchet job to me.  Sorry.

9ijaMan:
Why not speak for yourself instead of blindly generalizing?
If you know little or nothing about someone, the history books are there. What we knoe of GEJ is enough to throw the Otuoke cowboy behind bars and let him rot there for the rest of his life if the nation were to have functional organs in the Judiciary. Only in Nigeria would one witness the celebration of mediocrity. BTW, from your comments it's obvious you know next to nothing about GEJ hence your blind support. I've known the inept man for more than a decade and can probably write a book on GEJ's malfeasance while holding any position of power.
What we know about Buhari suggests that he's a repressive dictator who hates human rights, the press and knows little about the economy beyond imposing hardship on people.  His supporters claim he has changed, but we don't know anything about this "new Buhari" they are promoting.

Please feel free to educate us about GEJ, using facts that can be verified, etc, and we'll be listening.

If you vote for GEJ, you will regret. Mark my word. I know you will say i told you.
I think we are more likely to regret someone like Buhari whom we know little about. We already know Jonathan's strengths and weaknesses from his time as the president. I don't see why we should regret or be surprised about anything later on.

PoliticsRe: Casting Demons Out Of Bakare by Seun(mod): 7:06pm On Apr 07, 2011
How about conviction? I don't trust Buhari as the commander in chief of Nigerian armed forces. I don't trust his knowledge of what the economy needs. I don't trust his human rights record. I don't trust his record on freedom of the press. I don't want to live in fear of govt harassment when the dictator inevitably starts messing up and you people start abusing him daily. Under OBJ, I spent quite a lot of time thinking of how to make sure the home page was not perceived as anti-government, but under GEJ, I have no such fear and that's how men should live. How about that?

PoliticsRe: Why Do You Support Goodluck Jonathan For President? by Seun(mod): 4:12pm On Apr 04, 2011
I think GEJ's human rights and press freedom record is the cleanest so far.
No newspapers or tv stations have been closed for criticizing the president.
PoliticsWhy Do You Support Goodluck Jonathan For President? by Seun(mod): 12:31am On Apr 04, 2011
Hi.  This thread is for the quiet, conservative folks out there who intend to vote for Goodluck Jonathan & Sambo during the presidential elections.  What attracted you to GEJ in the first place, and what leads you to continue to support GEJ despite the recent hysteria for some repackaged candidates? (please, no offtopic posts, thanks)
