Thanks for sharing this email address. With the amount of emails they'll be getting every day, Schlumberger won't need to post their vacancies in newspapers anymore! grin
Christianity EtcRe: Who Should Be Blamed For Our Misfortunes, God Or Devil? by Seun(mod): 3:45pm On Aug 23, 2006
The one thing that science cannot explain is sin.
The science of psychology can explain "sin" quite well. You should read more about it!

This is what is causing all the misfortunes presently plaguing the world.
Can you explain how sin causes volcanic eruption, earthquakes and Tsunamis? What about those who are bitten by snakes or attacked by wild animals? Can you explain how sin causes malaria and sickle cell anemia?
Christianity EtcRe: That You Are Born Again Does Not Guarantee Answers To Prayers by Seun(mod): 3:42pm On Aug 23, 2006
I can also answer your prayers according to my whim/will! If you ask me in prayer for something I want to do, I'll do it. If you ask me for something I don't want to do or can't do, I'll claim that it's agaisnt my will.

It doesn't take a God to provide unreliable answers to prayer. Any human being can do that!
LiteratureRe: We Need To Write And Publish More Books In Nigeria by Seun(mod): 3:24pm On Aug 23, 2006
let's not turn our publishing industry to "Nollywood" style, were we churn out several books in a period that leave no literary mark.
"Literary mark" my foot. You might not like Nollywood movies, but many people outside Nigeria like them. Isn't it better to have something like Nollywood than to have nothing? Isn't half a loaf better than none?

I agree with Orikinla, but if we want people to read our books we must write what the common man wants to read. Literary elitists and unenlightened critics be damned; what we need is what any Mama Put can enjoy!

How can "being susceptible to physical or emotional injury" be good? It sounds like a weakness to me!

Thanks for the lead. I was contacted by someone who works at Superflux International Limited, bu I'm still waiting for the quote. I guess they have so many customers already. I wish I could buy my own printing press!

Chinani, what do you mean by "the ability to be vulnerable"? Is that good or bad? huh
CareerRe: Working For A Stock Brokerage In Nigeria? by Seun(mod): 3:04am On Aug 23, 2006
10/15k seems small. Obviously the career opportunities are limited.

My advice is that you should consider self-employment. Someone paying 10-15k is not greater than you.

CareerRe: Working As A Personal Assistant by Seun(mod): 2:46am On Aug 23, 2006
The prestige and pay of a PA job depends entirely on the person you are personally assisting wink.

(if you were personally assisting Seun, you won't earn as much as the president's personal assistants)
Nairaland GeneralRe: My Personality Check: Please Bite Softly. by Seun(mod): 2:42am On Aug 23, 2006
Asking strangers to evaluate your personality is a recipe for humiliation.

I'm locking this thread. You should be able to evaluate yourself based on your personal standard.

We like you. Happy now? Case closed. Bye bye.

RomanceRe: When A Man Doesn't Want Commitment In A Relationship by Seun(mod): 2:13am On Aug 23, 2006
Maybe for girls the reasons might be complicated, but for a guy who runs away from a girl he's been sleeping with because she wants commitment, it's very obvious that he's in the "relationship" for the sex.

Men are not complicated. When they want sex, they look for a 'babe' to satisfy their cravings. It's so simple.

SportsRe: New Online Forum: Naijachelseafans.com by Seun(mod): 2:04am On Aug 23, 2006
That's a very narrow topic for a forum.

It would have been better to start a Chelsea fan forum that Nigerians, other Africans, and people all over the world can join. It would have been easier for such a forum to achieve critical mass.

"Naija Chelsea Fans" means "are you not Nigerian? Not a Chelsea fan? Then get lost!!"
LiteratureRe: God's Errand Girl: A Story by Seun(mod): 1:54am On Aug 23, 2006
Damsal is alright. I am not taking offense. The style I chose for this story might not appeal to ladies.

Currently I'm reading the most popular girl's manga "fruits basket" in a bid to understand their needs.

What I've noticed so far is that ladies seem to be entertained by complicated relationship problems. huh
RomanceRe: Should A Guy Beg A Girl On His Knees If He Offend Her? by Seun(mod): 1:50am On Aug 23, 2006
It's not the bending down on your knees that should matter, but the resolution of the cause of breakup and the assurance - based on reliable facts - that it won't happen again. Players are good at begging.
TV/MoviesRe: Snakes On A Plane by Seun(mod): 4:48pm On Aug 22, 2006
Snakes ON A Plane did not bomb a the box-office. It was the highest grossing film that weekend. And they are going to make a profit on it because they saved the money they might have spent on making the story good.

You cannot expect a B-movie to perform like an A-rated movie, but it can be profitable like this one.

There's are many good formulars for a good relationship, which naturally brings feelings of love.

There's no formular for shallow love. Fortunately, that kind is not important except in movies.

LiteratureRe: God's Errand Girl: A Story by Seun(mod): 4:53am On Aug 22, 2006
Hmmm. I don't see what the UK has to do with this. Let's leave that train.

What is the hero is trying to use his powers establish a pure capitalist society because he believes that's the way the world can move forward? And what if politicians have ganged up against him because they feel his views are wrong? What if the hero-kid dies and the girl now has to take his place and achieve what he could not achieve?
LiteratureRe: God's Errand Girl: A Story by Seun(mod): 1:34am On Aug 22, 2006
Hmmm. Can you name some of these modern writers?

Last time I checked, Harry Potter was the most popular book in the world with good and evil characters.
LiteratureRe: God's Errand Girl: A Story by Seun(mod): 9:59pm On Aug 21, 2006
A group of Nigerian scientists discovered a new and mysterious force in nature. This force could fall upon a person to guide the person, and empower the person to perform supernatural acts.

For the sake of national defense, the scientists studied how to use it for various purposes. A wicked general involved in the project tried to kill all the people involved so he'll have the power to himself and take over the country. Fortunately, a genius son of one of the murdered scientists discovered the plot and used his mastery of this mysterious force to overcome the deranged general.

To make his father's death meaningful, this little boy decided to start a secret team of people using the mysterious power to fight crime and improve the world. Guided by the mysterious force, whose origin is unknown, the little boy was led to work with a special young lady in order to achieve his noble goal.

What is the true origin of this power? What is the role of this young lady? You will find out in the upcoming story!

What about the above story-line?

I don't know why a few Christians think the story is anti-Christian. Afterall there are angels in Islam, too.
