Yewande, O4Real: You're right, there probably won't be a next time. Well, with that last set of pictures, I can't say I didn't experience the solar eclipse. Isn't it funny how we're all obsessing over a solar eclipse? ![]() Maxflame: please post your pictures and videos as soon as possible. Send them to me if you want some pre-processing done or if the videos are very large. I can upload them directly. |
Wait, there are more pictures. The Eclipse is now at it's darkest point but the digital camera I borrowed is already out of battery power, so you'll have to manage the ones below: https://www.nairaland.com/img/eclipse.2.1.jpg https://www.nairaland.com/img/eclipse.2.2.jpg https://www.nairaland.com/img/eclipse.2.3.jpg https://www.nairaland.com/img/eclipse.2.4.jpg kajad: right now it's dark like it is at 7pm, but it's 10:25am! You can take the pictures directly now! No water basin needed! |
Thanks. I was lucky to get one good picture (out of 46) despite poor preparation. Here's another one which is badly distorted because the surface of the water in my basin was being pumelled by the wind. https://www.nairaland.com/img/eclipse4.jpg Bad, bad preparation. |
https://www.nairaland.com/img/eclipse1.jpg https://www.nairaland.com/img/eclipse2.jpg https://www.nairaland.com/img/eclipse3.jpg https://www.nairaland.com/img/eclipse3.closer.jpg These are the best pictures I got from the water-in-basin approach. The wind was not cooperative but I got really lucky in picture 3 above. Yay! Next time I'm going to have dark goggles on hand, definitely. |
I can't take the pictures with a digital camera; the sun is just too bright. i will try the water in basin approach. Running to fetch a basin. it's 9:15am already. Run, run, run! |

You can ask him. |
My sister is not going to be a poor helpless lady who needs an abusive husband to provide for her material needs. Her going to school is not for nothing. I have no intention of being a poor man; I'll be capable of supporting 10 sisters if necesary, while their abusive husbands are busy facing trial. Some women are too masochistic. ![]() |
Even if it's partial, we'll still notice it. I've never experienced a solar eclipse! |

Why do you think CHrist is frowning over your normal American life? |
I don't know what I'd do, but one thing is clear: he'll get his bones broken and he'll spend some time in jail for battery and assault. ![]() |
I'm thinking, wasn't Kokscity deemed a permanent liability to the forum? |
Yeepa! ![]() |
It loses meaning if you say it too much. You lose your pride. |
Affirmative action is necessary to break the vicious cycle that gives more opportunities to people in a particular class or race. Just try to comfort your friend. Are you trying to say she only has a good score because she's white? That would be a very unfair thing to suggest to a hardworking student who just happens to be white. If you've suggested that, please apologize! |
He's trying to say that once you tell some girls "I love you", self-control flies out of the window and they are willing to do anything with you. Once you say "I love you", no more toasting is required! |
Is Doctors' Quarters still running? Can you give us episode summaries? |

BellaROuge: Please don't decieve yourself. Nigeria is only good for those who are willing to generate their own power, dig up and refine their own water, maintain their own private police force, et cetera. Life in Nigeria is only tolerable to those who are used to it, not those who have spent a lot of time abroad! |
I'd write about the epidemic of religion that has done nothing to reduce corruption. |
