Yewande, O4Real: You're right, there probably won't be a next time. Well, with that last set of pictures, I can't say I didn't experience the solar eclipse. Isn't it funny how we're all obsessing over a solar eclipse? cheesy

Maxflame: please post your pictures and videos as soon as possible. Send them to me if you want some pre-processing done or if the videos are very large. I can upload them directly.

Wait, there are more pictures.  The Eclipse is now at it's darkest point but the digital camera I borrowed is already out of battery power, so you'll have to manage the ones below:

kajad: right now it's dark like it is at 7pm, but it's 10:25am! You can take the pictures directly now! No water basin needed!

Thanks.  I was lucky to get one good picture (out of 46) despite poor preparation.

Here's another one which is badly distorted because the surface of the water in my basin was being pumelled by the wind.

Bad, bad preparation.

These are the best pictures I got from the water-in-basin approach.  The wind was not cooperative but I got really lucky in picture 3 above.  Yay! Next time I'm going to have dark goggles on hand, definitely.

I can't take the pictures with a digital camera; the sun is just too bright. i will try the water in basin approach. Running to fetch a basin. it's 9:15am already. Run, run, run!

CrimeRe: What If Your Sisters Husband Beats Her A Lot? by Seun(mod): 8:38am On Mar 29, 2006
My sister is not going to be a poor helpless lady who needs an abusive husband to provide for her material needs.  Her going to school is not for nothing.  I have no intention of being a poor man; I'll be capable of supporting 10 sisters if necesary, while their abusive husbands are busy facing trial.  Some women are too masochistic. angry

Even if it's partial, we'll still notice it. I've never experienced a solar eclipse!

EducationRe: Affirmative Action by Seun(mod): 6:41am On Mar 29, 2006
Affirmative action is necessary to break the vicious cycle that gives more opportunities to people in a particular class or race.

Just try to comfort your friend. Are you trying to say she only has a good score because she's white? That would be a very unfair thing to suggest to a hardworking student who just happens to be white. If you've suggested that, please apologize!
RomanceRe: Do The Words "i Love You" Still Mean A Thing To You? by Seun(mod): 6:32am On Mar 29, 2006
He's trying to say that once you tell some girls "I love you", self-control flies out of the window and they are willing to do anything with you. Once you say "I love you", no more toasting is required!

TravelRe: Is Life Really Better Abroad? by Seun(mod): 5:25am On Mar 29, 2006
BellaROuge: Please don't decieve yourself. grin Nigeria is only good for those who are willing to generate their own power, dig up and refine their own water, maintain their own private police force, et cetera. Life in Nigeria is only tolerable to those who are used to it, not those who have spent a lot of time abroad!
