I took mine in Sango Ota, Ogun State, where I live.

At the darkest point of the eclipse it was as dark as it is in the evening or when it's about to rain. That's the point at which I took the later set of pictures by pointing the camera directly at the cloudy sky. The first set was taken by pointing the camera at a reflective water basin. It was a partial eclipse in my area.

Yewande, O4Real: You're right, there probably won't be a next time. Well, with that last set of pictures, I can't say I didn't experience the solar eclipse. Isn't it funny how we're all obsessing over a solar eclipse?

kajad: right now it's dark like it is at 7pm, but it's 10:25am! You can take the pictures directly now! No water basin needed!

Thanks.  I was lucky to get one good picture (out of 46) despite poor preparation.

Here's another one which is badly distorted because the surface of the water in my basin was being pumelled by the wind.

These are the best pictures I got from the water-in-basin approach.  The wind was not cooperative but I got really lucky in picture 3 above.  Yay! Next time I'm going to have dark goggles on hand, definitely.

I can't take the pictures with a digital camera; the sun is just too bright. i will try the water in basin approach. Running to fetch a basin. it's 9:15am already. Run, run, run!
