Pdp emergence is the worst thing to happen to Nigeria's democrasy. It is the reflection of greed, wickedness, selfishness and corruption of Nigeria as a nation. No doubt, there are few good ones among them but one or two trees can't make a forest and i believe that with the resources, apparatus, informations, man power and mechanisms pdp have, they are the only party that can transform Nigeria as at to day. But is Pdp ready to work fo the good of Nigerians irrespective of who is the president?

patrikobi: if governor T.A did that to create provision for his people who had no jobs ,its not a bad idea, after all many did it .....so am not against that idea in as much as he created a provision for Abians...why people are crying ,if we were the governor,we would have done the same
obinalihe: there was nothing wrong to try to make space for his indegenes,if you were in his shoes you would do the same to protect urs
No i don't think that is right and that is called protectionism which comands retaliation by the affected party, but the truth is no government have enough space for her indegines. Imagine how many abains will lose their job if other state do the same. This is selfishness and selfcentredness. If abia people also wellcome it, it shows that they are not hospitable and are xenophobic.

They are just doing business as usual and they really don't care.
The impact of the United state oil shale is beyond oil export to united state.
Even a country like saudi, uae etc are investing in alternative energy through mubadala, masda etc.

The way Ameachi's camp conducted them selves is comendable but the way oga's camp has been conducting their selves is ridiculous.
If u could not get the desired result, there is a mature way of doing things. U restrategise, plan and execute it masterly. To me now i think oga's camp lack wisdom and tactics to run complex and complicated political settings.
While we should not encourage anybody to intimidate the president for what ever reasons, president too should not be aplouded for doing wrong, distructive, shamefull and coward things he is doing now.

I know many emotional, sentimental or political jobbers on this forum will not reason with me, but i will like to ask them this.
(1) What is d diffrence between what Jona is doing now and what turai and her cabals did to him that we all condem?
(2) what is diffrence between what Abacha did to NADECO and what Oga Jona is doing right now to other people?
I know sentiment will not allow u people see it, but history will tell it later.

Politics › Dangote Invests $600m In Sugarcane Production by seunfly(op): 8:42am On May 24, 2013
President, Dangote Group, Aliko Dangote, has diclosed that the sugar arm of his company willinvest over $600 million in the production of sugarcane in Kebbi,Kwara and Sokoto states. Dangotemade this known during a visit tothe Governor of Kwara State, Dr Abdulfatah Ahmed, where he expressed satisfaction with the government’s effort at revolutionising agriculture in the state.
According to him, his company intends to replicate what it did in the cement industry by targeting about 65 million tonnes of sugar, which he said could produce about one million jobs for the people. Dangote emphasized that in the next five years; the company would produce and grow two million tonnes of sugar,as part of efforts to ensure that Nigeria is self-sufficient in consumables instead of depending on importation.
He said Nigeria was wasting quitea lot of money in the importation of about two million tons of sugar, adding that the company has identified Patigi local government area of the state for sugarcane plantation. Dangote further expressed hope that by cooperating with people and Kwara state government, the project would take-off before the end of the year.
Meanwhile, the Kwara State Governor, Abdulfatah Ahmed had pledged that his administration was committed to working with investors in bid to transform the economic lives of the people. Ahmed also gave the assurance that his administration would create enabling environment for would-be investors to operate coupled with adequate security for the growth of the economy. He noted that Nigeria would never get it wrong if it invests in agriculture as the northern part of the country was endowed witharable soil which could be utilizedfor agriculture as a foreign exchange earner for the nation.
It would be recalled that Dangote group recently announced plans to invest about $8 billion to build a 400,000 bpd capacity oil refinery in Nigeria by 2016, saying that sub-Saharan Africa need investments in this area. According to projection, if completed, this will double Nigeria’s current refining capacity.“This will really help not only Nigeria but sub-Saharan Africa.
There has not been a new refinery for a long time in sub-Saharan Africa.” The country currently has the capacity to produce some 445,000 barrels per day among four refineries, but they operate well below that owing to decades of mismanagement and corruption in Africa’s leading energy producer. Nigeria, the continent’s second-biggest economy, relies on subsidised imports for 80 per cent of its fuel needs.

For me i still feel that we need definate dressing code in most of our official things.
The dressing code which must decent, devoid of cultural and religious sentiment and good for the purpose.

If we countinue to import religion and cultural character into official matter, it will to anarchy.

I don't think it will be good if a male student sango worshiper wear skirt to school while female muslim use hijab and catholic girl wear her own sister gawn to school.
Politics › Hijab Ban In Lagos: MPAC, MURIC, Others Hit Back At Govt by seunfly(op): 6:45am On May 24, 2013
By Ishola Balogun

Muslim Public Affairs Centre, MPAC, has said it will engage all lawful means to frustrate the decision of the Lagos State Ministry of Education with respect to the recent ban on hijab, adding that it will continue to actively workwith other Islamic organizations and stakeholders towards expanding the coalition to achieve reversal of the ban inthe quickest possible time.
In a similar vein, the Muslim Rights Concern, MURIC, called the attention of senior citizens in Lagos, men of goodwill, the Nigerian security agencies, human rights organizations and the international community to wade into the matter immediately.
MURIC in its statement said: “Muslims are peace-loving people. They go their own ways until authorities push them to the wall. The Allah-given and fundamental rights of Lagos Muslims are being flagrantly denied todayby the Lagos State government.”
“Muslims are civilized and cultured people. We issue no threats, but let nobody make a mistake about our resolve to ensure that justice is done. Already, MURIC has reported this hijab case to some international and local human rights bodies so that the whole world will know what is happening here.
Letters have been forwardedto Human Rights Watch, Amnesty International, The Islamic Human Rights Commission, National HumanRights Commission as well asthe House of Representatives’ Committee on Human Rights in Abuja. This is just the beginning. All available legitimate options are on the table.”
MURIC however urged the Lagos State House of Assembly to re-open dialogue on the demand of Muslims in the state on the use of hijab in public schools; and to put in place apublic hearing on the matter that will be well publicised and attended by Islamic organizations. It also demand for investigation and sanction against the principal of Kadara High School who was reported to have caned Aishat Alabi, a JSSI student for wearing hijab.
In a seperate statement signed by the chairman of MPAC, Disu Kamor, the group expressed shock that the Lagos State Ministry of Education will prevent students in public schools in the state from using the hijab (the obligatory female Muslim head covering). The Commissioner for Education Mrs. Olayinka Oladunjoye hadsaid last week at a press briefing in Ikeja that “usage of Hijab and other religious materials in public schools was against government’s policy”.
According to MPAC; “it is in flagrant violation of the religious and civic rights of the pupils. MPAC is shocked that rather than speak on behalf of the Constitution sheswore an oath to defend, Mrs. Oladunjoye is taking the State in a course of confrontation and down the dead end of religious intolerance.
The Lagos State government should have seen the use of hijab in public schools in the state as an opportunity to reinforce common public perception of Lagos State as a melting-pot and a good example where diverse groups and ideas co-exist peacefully, thus upholding the democratic ideals of inclusion and diversity.”
Reacting further, the association said this decisionis capable of bringing Muslims who desire to obey the Qur’anic injunction of adorning the hijab in all public places into confrontation with the school authority as the hijab will continue to be used in schools and workplaces.
“One thing is certain, the decision of the Lagos State Ministry of Education, although shocking, will not prevent the use of hijab in public schools, or anywhere else. Rather it will strengthenthe resolve to fulfil aspirationto obey the divine injunction,at all costs.
Everyone who holds dear thevalues of freedom and equality that the people of Nigeria have struggled so hard to establish over the years

When ask about the state of Eboyin, here is his response.

Are you worried that in Ebonyi state that the clamour and consideration for political positions aheadof 2015 is overshadowing the attention that should have been given to good governance?

It is unfortunate that most times we don’t find statesmen who are politicians because as they say, politicians are always interested in the next election but statesmen are interested in delivering democracy dividends first to the people before they start talking about the election and on that note I want to say that our governor, Chief Martin Elechi is a statesman because right from 2007 when he came into office, hehas never really focused on the next election, rather his focus has always been how do I transform, change, movethe state forward; how do I give these people a sense of belonging; how do I tell this people that even though we are waking up late among our brothers in the eastern states, yet we will overtake them.
Yet Chief Elechi has continued to demonstrate in all ramification that we will not just catch up with our brothers in the south easternstates but that we will overtake them through whathe is doing.

Abagworo: http://dailyindependentnig.com/2013/01/ahiara-catholic-faithful-protest-reject-appointment-of-bishop/

The protesters added: “Should the appointment of Okpalaeke succeed, half of the Ecclesiastical Province would be controlled by bishops from Onitsha Province,” stressing that, “till date, no priests or bishops from Owerri Province have been assigned as bishops, whether auxiliaries or substantive, in Onitsha.”

Members of the diocese, who were in solidarity protest with the aggrieved priests, noted that the appointment of a bishop outside priests from the diocese would weaken the people’s faith. “Our opposition to the appointment of Okpalaeke draws from our perception of the paramount importance of the salvation of the souls of our people.”

Also speaking, the president of the Ahiara Diocesan Catholic Women Organisation, Mrs. Felicia Nwogu, noted that their position was not driven by chauvinism, but by equity, justice and fairness.

She added: “We believe we have credible priests who can be made bishop, instead of imposing someone who does not understand the culture of the people and we have an obligation to reject anything that imperils the faith of our people.”

The angry faithful, who barricaded the gate to the big Cathedral, displayed placards with inscriptions like: ‘We don’t want Okpalaeke as Bishop’, ‘The Pope should rescind his decision and appoint one of our priests’, ‘Cardinal Arinze should leave our Diocese alone’.
Why do some people like unecessary competition, it's their own not our own syndrome.
