billante: Excuse Excuse Excuses! Just get d work done we don't want to hear any excuses......was he expecting not to encounter any challenges, if its GEJ now he is clueless....when federal govt says the contractors working on its road project are being kidnapped and affecting d pace of d work, the ACN laptop gang will starting the regular sermon of cluelessness of GEJ, now their master is giving excuses upon excuses and they clap for him.Why do people just criticise with sentiment and with out thinking deeply? U are comparing President with all his resources, power and finance to governor. U are comparing second niger bridge to fourth mainland bridge, is it the size, the distance, the lenght and the cost that u want to put side by side? The last time i check 2nd niger bridge is just 600m with an extention span plan of 2150m and u are comparing with fourth mainland bridge of 21km(21000m) with extension span plan of 5km(5000m) U are talking about stumbling block in construction of bridge in less developed/virgin area compare to developed city with high value on real estate and poor master plan for infracsture. Even though i don't like people who abuse the president despite that he has disapointed us but that does not mean we should'nt think properly b4 we vindicate him out of our despiration. |
eGuerrilla: From the same article ...it's a shame dt it's people like Orubebe that many people are pushing 4 d governoship post despite his bad track record everywhere he has head in history. That is why i hate their party, why can't they bring gud person or lure people like Ogboru or Keyamo into Pdp and present them. |
News BY EMMA AMAIZE SINCE South-South leader, Chief Edwin Clark, exploded, May 9, against the Minister of Niger-Delta, Elder Godsday Orubebe, over the alleged ambition of the latter to become the governor of Delta State in 2015, associates and aides of the two prominent politicians have withdrawn to the trenches in different parts of the state from where they have been firing sporadic shots. A source familiar with the goings-on said some leaders, who Orubebe spoke to, advised him not to personally respond to the diatribe of the elder statesman. So far, he is complying. However, echoes of war are reverberating in Burutu, Warri, Ughelli, Ozoro and Asaba, as conscripted foot soldiers engage themselves. The substance of Clark’s vitriol is that whereas President Goodluck Jonathanhad directed his ministers and other appointees not to engage in politics as to declaring their intentions for 2015, Orubebe, who he nominated for the position, was not only flouting the presidential directive, but also doing so with impunity.
The 'West' are the ultimate sponsors . . . .after all where are all their 'arms' coming from. Western ammunition in both parties hands . . . . as usual.
they got their arms from the fall of Gadafi regime. Actualy many group had warned france about this when they were airdroping arms 4 rebel group to fight Gadafi but they seem to care about the fall of Gadafit than the repacution of their actions. Russia, China, Southafrica and some other human right group warned that if they(NATO and France) drop weapon 4 rebel 4rm d sky the way they did it, it will fall into the hands of wrong people dt will use it to destabilise Africa particularlly West Africa, but they refused to listen and now we are all suffering 4rm it. |
What do u expect when the section has been taken over by paid political agents. Every thing here is all propaganda 4rm both sides and it seems like the mods have intrest in their threads because no matter how bad d thread is, mod will allow it to survive while they relegate sensible thread just because it is not 4rm paid agent. |
Reski: this is bullshit if lagos is a secular state it simply implies everybody is free to practice and dress however he or she wishes if muslims decide to wear hijjab to school wats the big deal after all everybody is supposed to be accomodated in a secular society irrespective of weda u are muslim hindu christain or pagan wateva it is it shouldnt b the concern of the state. But law is a law irrespective of our religion, culture and tradition. You can't wear agbada to bank on monday as a staff nor can u wear pijamas to office as a police officer. But here in Nigeria we don't knw d diffrence btw rules and freedom because of our sentiments. |
That is a good move, why should we religionize every thing office, school, economic and politics. Yet the moral of the religion does not show in our behaviours. |
They will soon declear state of emergency in River state. |
Good move... |

They are all testing the ground to see the level of people's reaction to their ambition. |
Kemy11: I DONT KNOW OF YOU BUT TO ME CHUKWUEMEKA ODUMEGWU OJUKWU A K A EZE GDURUGBURU, NNA DI ORA MMA NDIGBO, PEOPLES GENERAL, IKEMBA NNEWI IS THE MOST CELEBRATED IGBOMAN ON EARTH. ZIK MAY BE POPULAR IN GHANA OR OTHER AFRICAN COUNTRIES BUT NOT REVERED LIKE OJUKWU.It is because our people celebrate wrong things and people, instead of us to act base on reasoning we act base on sentiment. Don't get me wrong Ojukwu is not a wrong person, but Zik is by miles better if u remove sentiments, politics and unfond rumuor out of the bases 4 ur judgment. If nigerians were to judge, people like Hitler will be hero and people like Mandela will be a bad person because we subject ourself to what we are fed with. |
I thought i was the only one dt noticed the trend, i watch as bayelsa, delta and co built government houses, how gombe, taraba, kastina and co ar building airport when many parts of the states are not accesible by road, i watch as eboyin, bayelsa and co ar building new ultra modern seceteriate when those org to occupy the sec ar not functional, i watch as Ogun built air conditioned pedestrian bridge when the whole state can't boost of enough road or stable electricity. I now wonder what is happening to those people that are leading us? |
That is very good, i hope other SW states can emulate this. The only thing i am concern about this is that government is a bad manager, normally NNPC should be operating at the level of Chevron, BP, Shell, petrobraz, Sinopec etc but as we all knw they could not manage it to operate @ the level. To day Fashola who can manage it is here as governor, who knows who will be there after him maybe someone like oyinlola or akala who will loot and mismanage it. My advice to them is that Lagos should make it joint venture with private organisation and Lagosian should also buy shares in it just like Nigerian flour mill, Nigerian brewries etc. |
Obj may have stolen alot of money, but it's not possible for him to steal $150billion in Nigeria. Even king fahadz of saudi arabia can not boost of such money in his personal account. |
I wonder if all this mouth peice of fed gov did not know that it was Yaradua that lifted the stumbling block of fed gov that restricted Tinubu on the rail project. They keep shouting 14years as if they don't know about 44 exclusive list. They also talk about kaduna-Abuja rail, i will like to inform u that work has stop since the begining of this year, even people have started building on the marked land in kubwa when they noticed gov is no more serious about the rail project. Bottom line is that people should rather ignore a thread that is poisonious to their agenda rather than coming here to lie and expose their own ignorance, shame and inefficiency. I must also say that this rail is very expensive sha when compare to south african metro, but that is for another day. |
The Kingz: If this country were like that great country in south east asia that nassarawa governor would have taken responsibility and resigned for failing as a chief security officer of what has recently come to be known as one of the top 5 most dangerous states in the federation. The day that is done is when things will go on smoothly in Nigeria because everybody will be responsible for their actions and inaction. But for where? Even president would have resigned so many times. |
The issue that is long gone is what op brought back to life 4 attension sake. Haaahaa!!! Because of disempowerment, life should be allowed to be sniffled out of innocent citizen? Because of okada plant our roads should not be save for users? Very soon u will say that people should be allow to drink and drive because of brewries or people should be allow to carry gun so as not to disempower some families that depends on gun manufacturing plant. |
The problem lies with our leaders and elders, they use that toolz when they want to remain relevant and rule us. An average Yorubas and igbos walk hands in hands on the street, but when politic set in we remember Awolowo, Ojukwu Ezegwo, ifenajuna, biafra etc. The truth is all those things are introduced by our selfish elders and leaders to carve a niche for themself without passing through normal procedure. Come to think of it, after we have hated, distroyed and killed ourself, all our leaders 4rm diffrent ethnics, religion and ideologies will come together to share our wealth. Even on nairaland we are best of friends, it is all this political agents that are dividing us, i bet u go to other sections and see how cool we are with each other. |
The only thing i see on politics section is that it has been taking over by political paid peaple, they promote topics 4rm all this paid political agent who have sold their future to their political masters. No matter how bad and senseless their topic is, it must stay longer above other sensible topics. Is this what seun want to turn nairaland to? How much do those political e-thugs(Papa decieve pikin and Amour personel carrier) paid him to sell his own comendable project that makes peaple happy. Lastly Oluwaseun must do something about it b4 neutral(majority) peaple begins to loose intrest in this great forum. Thanks |
PointB: Let's assume GEJ made the same comment. What will be the reaction of the ACN/APC goons? They are opposition and that is what opposition does any where in the world, they look for ruling parties weakness to garner support 4 themselves. It is a shame that we average Nigerian can't handle criticism with out taking it as enemity, tribal or religious. I guess that is one of the reason why our developments is slow, cos criticism improves our perfomance. |
fasok heritage: 9000sqm off arab road 35mThanks but i need it around fo1/kubwa 3 extention winner's side. |
If they can reduce corruption, they have solved our problems. They will not do it because if they reduce corruption, the purpose of them being in gov has been defeated. Otherwise how will the cronies and friends benefit. |
londoner: Definately Abuja....nobody will claim that the city does not belong to all, like you often hear lagosians say.I guess u are veiwing lagos 4rm Nairaland point of veiw, i bet u have not been there cos u if have been there u will know that no one will make u feel unwellcome except if u want to be sentimental about ur judgment. However all this noice u hear about Lagos being Yoruba on Nairaland is anoying fight of cat and dog between igbo and yoruba. It is just claim and counter claim of both igbo and Yoruba over ownership of Lagos. I don't think this is beyond nairaland. My advice 4 u is that, u should'nt judge Nigeria through nairaland, cos it will miss lead u and peaple here don't present a perfect picture of who we are. Most of the top posters and contributors are paid agent of one group or the other(political parties, ethnic and tribal organisation, enemies of Nigeria etc) to make propagander for them to achieve their aims. Last time i was watching SABC and i saw some guys(Nigerians) telling lies about Nigeria, then i wonder i much their organisation is paying them and what will SouthAfrican SABC gain from that. |
Waiting... |
Not a new thing, infact i don't believe it that we don't have such system in Nigeria. However you know our politicians, they don't know how to use government aparatus without abusing it for their benefit only. EFCC, ICPC, AMACON and many similar organisation are very good ideas but they will always abuse them and stop them from functioning. I have notice something about Nigerian government, if they fomulate policy u should know that: 1) it is either they want to steal from it. 2) they want to use it to fight their political enemies. 3) they just want to use it to campaign. But they will present it as if it is for the public benefit. I know many will disagree but this my own opinion. |
Oh boy this one is grand pa O. Well i will kill it roast it and eat it. |
Shugamania: Okay..lol.... @Shugamania, cleaning of courtyard and doing the main laundry is my best hobby. I can cut those bushes in the courtyard as well. My 190 will have to give way 4 me to come and render those services. |
I don't think u should base ur judgment on cheating in market cos of Language barrier, i think average Hausa marketers is little more honest in trading his wares than average southerners generally due to what they term over smartness. However city being cosmopolitan can be determined by 1) Style of living. 2) Blends of rich cultures from diffrent ethnic groups. 3) How independent peaple can express their selves without any cultural, tribal, religious and social hindrance. 4) Financial potency of such city. 5)population of such city. If u put all this together i will like to rank it in this other: 1) Lagos 2) Abuja 3) pourtharcourt this are the cities that u will believe to be more cosmopolitan in nature. U can speak any language and the next person u sit with in a bus will reply u back, u can walk out of ur house and find Calabar kitchen opposite ur house. Uchena and kunle will be sharing shop and hausa, yoruba or igbo man may be ur cab driver. may be Kano, kaduna should have been on the list but nowadays peaple have reduced the way dy express them selve due to violence. I think enugu and owerri are calm and beautifull cities but i doubt ur cab driver can be hausa or yoruba man. Ibadan, markudi, jos, yola, calabar and akure are big cities but i doubt ur next flat mate can understand ur language. |
DerideGull: It is really shame indeed.ACN is a tribally biased political party that has no place in Nigeria or anywhere else. How have ACN been tribaly biased? Do they tribaly stop other tribes 4rm contesting on their platform unduely? Have they disqualify anybody from taking up a position in their party because of his tribe? I don't just get it when people just tag something on some one/group's character just because u hate such person/group. If u call them tribalistic party because of their critisism of jonathan, then u have to learn about politics and the work of opposition party. Did u call them tribalist when they were busy lashing out on Turai, kitchen carbinent/cabals and pdp during yaradua saga? I don't just know why u people always attach tribal stuff to everything just to make them bad, after all the two fighting political parties are both Yorubas, so what is tribalist about it? Note: i am not a fan of ACN or any political party, but we have to say the truth anywhere we find ourself. That is the least we can contribute to this world to make a better place 4 our unborn generation. |
