Oh Starlink is on KU Band? Wahala.
And the Device is small again so another issue. I don't think there is any solution then

Can’t say about the band. Just the technology in principle. I expect it would improve as they launch more satellites.

How true is this for those who have used inside rain?

https://nairametrics.com/2023/03/07/starlink-users-in-nigeria-lament-poor-connectivity-whenever-it-rains/

It is to be expected. Anything wey DSTV dey do, just expect Starlink to behave the same way. It is based off the same technology (satellite). What is left to understand is if there are any solutions that low orbit satellites can offer to mitigate this experience.

This highlights one of the reasons this service isn’t to ultimate broadband solution for Nigeria. I think however, that it’ll drive competition in the right direction though.

I find it interesting that, even though Starlink hasn't received the returned kit, since I shipped it out today, yet it has already processed the refund. Now I just have to wait for my card issuer to credit my card. Hopefully, it doesn't take long.

This is impressive customer service. I have 4 Hynet routers and one 5G router all from MTN. Take you crap and go dem go do like say dem no get eat.

Please I want to find out when the amount ($600) for the kit will be deducted. I had placed order since on 24th February. Only the subscription fee of $42.16 was deducted. The kits have not shipped and $600 has not been deducted from my card. Do I have to make a separate order for the Kits?

Typically you may find that the service address you used is marked as coming soon. If that is the case, you will not be charged for the hardware yet. You could also check your billing information to understand what you paid for.

One thing is sure, your dishy isn’t among the dishys that are landing in Nigeria next week.

Bro, u no gree pass message.. Na yab u just yab me for your response

I had to put the duplex thingy for u to know my Dilemma

Now, if u can simplify your response with zero emphasis on the duplex.. I will be glad

Well it’s clear you’re gonna need the Ethernet adapter for your DUPLEX. You’ll need to connect it to a small 4 port switch (30k) and run cable downstairs to your setup box. Or you can get a wifi extender and plug the cable downstairs to it to extend the wifi signal if your setup box has wifi.
Starlink says the wifi coverage of the router is quite good so it should be fine for your DUPLEX. Unless it’s also a very big DUPLEX, in which case you should have bragged about that too. If your DUPLEX is indeed quite large, wifi extenders or an additional access point is the way to go. People who live in DUPLEXES tend to hire professionals for these things though. I’m a professional by the way. I have a lot of experience with big DUPLEXES.

Been a while since I’ve been here o. Una do leave the brother behind! Update:

Just finished playing The Witcher 3: Wild hunt. NxtGn Edition. That was my entire December and most of January.

Spent the last two weeks on Gotham Knights. Got it immediately it came out but didn’t play because it was riddled with bugs. They have fixed some so it was playable. It just made me hungry for some Arkham Knight. Will probably try to play that again soon.

Currently playing Dying light 2. Wasn’t a fan of the parkour games but this one is growing on me. The open world is really something and that night chase if you make a mistake really gets the heart pumping.

Interesting, I actually started flirting with the idea of getting the Meta Quest 2 as a Christmas gift for myself. Was a bit skeptical initially but seeing the videos, it’s something I have to try. I do have a VR capable rig at home. My issue now is the cost of these games especially with our exchange rates and Olympic hurdles to pay for stuff outside Nigeria. I think I’ll get that quest this week!!
Literature / Ghost Writer Needed by seunpayne(m): 9:35am On Apr 02, 2022
Hey guys, I would try to keep this short.

I need three Ghost Writers to work on a series of books for a client. The genre is High Fantasy. Here are a few things you should know:

*Each book akready has some background. Either a few chapters already written or a framework already built.
*The tone of most of the books is dark humor. The writer will need to have a strong control of this tone all through.
*The view is first person. Emotion, environment and perception descriptions will be very important in building the story.
*The backdrop is Africa. Mostly Nigeria but the writer is allowed to explore other locales.
*The writer is allowed full creative freedom but will have to get approval for high level ideas.

Each book will be treated as a seperate contract. Each writer may only have one active contract at a time. A writer may not be able to pick up another contract until the current contract is signed off and paid for. Each writer will be required to sign a few documents including but not limited to an Attestation form, MNDA and Waiver. Location is not very important. However, each writer must be able to demonstrate the required skill, access to required worktools and availability for review meetings. The timeline for each book will be between 2-7 Weeks. Agreed payments will be made on a milestone basis and will be subject to review.

Please, if you are interested, or know anyone who is, send a message via email to info@farocon.com.ng or a whatsapp message to +2349063503300.
Health / Re: Me And My Lower Back Pain by seunpayne(m): 1:12am On May 06, 2021
CandyOps:
Most guys are just careless about their health they wait till it's worse before they act.

And I guess you didn't do an intensive Google search on your back pain because if you did you wouldn't have gone through all those stress.

I mean I just search the term "major causes of back pain" and amongst the results that popped up includes 'prolonged sitting'

See the image attached.

... But then you missed it like Yakubu Aiyegbemie.

Google is actually one of the best places to seek first aid from especially if you're isolated or can't access healthcare immediately.

It was even Google that taught me it was better to use cold/ice compress on inflammations like when you have Koko on the head, or sprained ankle. Before na so so hot water press. Injury wey suppose last 2/3 days go take almost 2 weeks because of say we no sabi use Google

When using Google for health issues, use elimination method to remove the options or suggestions that are far off from the symptoms you feel till you have 1 or 2 options that best suits your case
.

Then move with those 2 till you figure shit out

We learn everyday. Thank you sir
Health / Me And My Lower Back Pain by seunpayne(m): 11:46pm On May 05, 2021
I am sorry, I am not quite sure where to post this but its back and pain so I figured heath section would work. Dear Mods, no dey offended if I make mistake. If no be here put am where e need be.

Hey guys, so my back has been killing me of late. I initially thought this was caused by my recent increased consumption of Schweppes (Virgin Mojito flavor). However, after cutting off my supply and riding my bike about 40km over the last few days…guess what? My back still hurts.

Time to hit the oracle and find out what is doing me. I open up google and type “LOWER BACK PAIN). You know there is a reason they tell you not to google your symptoms, right? You don’t listen. We neither do I. Apparently my problem may require surgery if symptoms don’t clear out within four weeks. I’m already rounding off the second week!!

So clearly google dey mad!

So I do the next thing any educated young man with mind bending back pain will do. I open up WhatsApp and ask a friend for advice. You know how we all have that one idiot that is in super shape, can’t get fat and seems to always never get sick…no? Well, I have one of such and he tells me to take this agbo (herbal concoction). I take it o. I take it like it’s a six-pack of my favorite Schweppes (which by now I am beginning to doubt was responsible for my predicament). Do I need to mention that it tastes like bile? No? Good. It was so bitter even my teeth tasted wrong for an hour after.

I am very amazed. This has to be science. Apart from the very embarrassingly smelling incident that occurred a bit too frequently in the rest room the next day, I would say the AGBO DID NOT WORK!! I think I lost some weight though. (To Do list: Get a scale) (To Do List to Do: New blog post about weighing 90kg to the Glory of God).

I admit I was really stumped at this point. The pain was getting worse and there was no end in sight. I don’t take painkillers, mostly because I am superman’s junior brother but also because I fear I may abuse them, and I don’t think I would make a very attractive drug addict.

Then I had a conversation with a friend and just like that the cause revealed itself.

Guess what was causing my back pain…MY OFFICE CHAIR!!!

Honestly, e shock me. I use it every day. Admittedly, the chair is in terrible condition. The rollers are broken unevenly which makes the chair wobble, the cushion is all but flat and the lumber support is more a requirement than actual support. I have been spending a lot of hours in this chair over the last few weeks o. My poor back.

I finally decided it was time to change my trusty old bumbum device. I hope into jumia and what do I see? The chair costs 95,000 Naira and is on discount from its 120,000 Naira original price!!! Wait o, it is chair I want to buy o not conference room. I do some more searching and to my dismay, no be scam o. Chairs are expensive.

I have decided to go to the market tomorrow and see for myself.

Meanwhile, the takeaway from my back pain for you is this: Chairs are expensive!!
Please stop using them anyhow. When your employer has spent all this money to provide you with such a basic and most important work tool (that protects you from back pain), the least you can do is use It properly.

• If you are in the habit of leaning back in awkward angles that may break the struts, stop.
• If you are on the big side, get a chair that can carry your weight. The smaller chairs with smaller frames tend to break after a while if you are too heavy.
• It is not a toy. Stop spinning in your chair
• It is also not a car. Get up and walk to the photocopier Brenda. Stop rolling the chair all the way.
• Mr Michel, you and your sweaty bumbum will spoil the leather, use a cotton cloth between your sweaty self and the chair.
• It is one person to a chair, stop sitting on the arm of the chair.

Look I know you lot wish you had better jobs and salaries and you may feel taking care of your chair is not your business after all they will change it. But just think for a moment, if it was you buying the chair for over 100,000 Naira, how would you treat the chair now?

To all the employers out there. God will bless you for protecting our backs.

Now I am accepting donations for my new chair. The one I like costs 150,000 Naira.

Thank you for attending my TedTalk!!!

Lala, please move to front page so others can learn.

When you say best what do you mean?

You haven’t given enough information to really aid in making a choice. What form factor are you after? Are you going to be overclocking? Do you have a budget in mind? Truth is most x570 boards are good as long as you’re not hoping to snag one for $100. The ROG STRIX is Top of the line. Good price with great build qualities in the PCB and heat management. Also quite stable with heavy overclocks. Built a ryzen 9 for someone in June with it. Really great board

Car Talk / Re: Toyota Camry 07 Head Lamp Not Bright by seunpayne(m): 10:20am On Aug 10, 2020
EngRichie:
That year's Camry doesn't have a bright low beam.

Remove the HID that you put there. Even though the low beam is projector type, it is designed to work with a filament bulb.

Check if your alternator outputs at least 13.6 volts when lights are on..

Check the age of the filament bulb that you used. The filament should be clear. Filament bulbs don't last very well before aging too.

Aim the headlight properly

You didn't state whether it's both low beam and high beam lights that are not bright.

Brightness isn’t the issue. The white bulbs are plenty bright. It just doesn’t point down. I’ve had a mechanic adjust it twice now and still nothing. Full beam brings in minimal improvements but it’s still poor overall.

I’ll do the alternator check this week. Last option may be to just change the whole bulb housing to an aftermarket mod. Saw some really nice ones on carparts last week.
