Guys, kudos to you all. What can 150k fetch m in terms of building a budget gaming pc?
It depends, if you can scavenge some parts then you can make this work. 150k can get you a mobo, 8GB of ram, a nice Ryzen 3 2200G and a psu. You’ll have to scavenge the hard drive and case and I think you’re good to go for a basic system. You can expand from that point as money dey enter your hand

asus p8h77 mobo (had to change the dell xps 8500 mobo it was making my system restart/freeze)

Intel core i5 3rd gen

8gb ram (can I upgrade it to 16gb/ heard 8gb is okay for gaming)

400 watts psu
Get the 1050ti. Or get the rx570

I have a 400 watt PSU
That’s quite small, if you list out your parts we can calculate your consumption and see if you have room for either cards

Thanks for the reply, which decent card can I go for plus can I put an ssd into the desktop (with same connectors or I need an adapter )
About the SSD...noticed you didn’t get an answer. NO, you don’t need an adapter. You’ll probably need a holder or if you don’t mind you can tie it does with zip ties. Newer cases have ssd slots though. If your mobo supports it, you can go the NVMe way and just not worry about any cables

In what way sir?

I have both and when I first installed it, I monitored the usage. FiFa pulls lots of power from processor and graphics card.
At the minimum settings for both, PES requires more from your computer. As you step that up it becomes more about your settings. But on the regular, PES is actually more demanding.

Once it uses sata connection, yes you can use a sata SSD.

A 970 or 980 won't be bad second hand. But if you want newer cards then a 1050ti isn't bad for the price. Good for 1080p gaming, you might just have to turn down settings from time to time. Some of these games aren't well optimized, I struggle with my 1070 sometimes
Did you even read the original post? Please don’t buy any 1050ti o. Get an RX570 or RX580. Same price, better performance. The only reason I would say you can do the 1050ti is if you don’t have a good PSU because power consumption on the RX cards is more than the 1050ti but performance? No

Game pass for PC. Blew my mind. Then hearing Ubisoft is coming with its own subscription service in September...that’s awesome as well. The upcoming games...hmmm...very skeptical about release dates so far. The PlayStation exclusives though...makes a brother think...

I just do not understand why you decided to go with that GPU when you already have something like 2200G with inner APU anyway and visa versa you can simply obtain another processor from Ryzen and go with something else here really. So it will not matter that much.
I don’t follow, the Vega 8 in the 2200G is miles behind the RX580 in performance. No way you’ll advice anyone to pick an APU over a traditional GPU. Besides if you check the internet right now you’ll see it’s one of the best cards in terms of value. Ultra on everything I’ve thrown at it in 1080p. It’s a no brainer to me

Wow, it’s been a long week, finally built it. Runs like a charm. Overclocked it to run at 3.9Ghz at 1.37V. Ram was over clocked to run at 3000Mhz my benchmarks are good but she runs a bit hot. Max temp when I’m gaming hit about 70*C which for me is too high. I’ll be buying a bigger CPU cooler when I’m getting second stick of ram next month. Playing division on 1080p high at 70fps is what I call a breeze. I’m back to PC gaming and it’s amazing. Paid for Origin Access Premier so I can play anthem and fifa 19.

I’ll answer any questions you have to the best of my knowledge including buying and shipping options and best advice on budget builds.

In Nigeria. shocked please where did you get it from, tell us.

For those that build, we should have a list of places to get some items that aren't cost effective to ship.
I've been trying to get a 1440p monitor for a while now.
Abuja o. Wuse zone 3. I think it’ll be much easier to get in Lagos though. Those monitors are expensive o. Cheap but shipping is a chore. I import a lot of goods for work. So I usually try to add those heavy items to them to take advantage of shipping rebates. I’ll be ordering my monitor during Easter. Should be buying stuff for a job then. Until then I’m using my TV.

Please where did you buy it from? Cases are the bane of my every build.
I have to be the luckiest builder sha. Went to buy UPS for my build and while I was there I just casually asked if they had a case. They said the last one they had was bad. I said let me look at it. When the brought it I immediately saw that it had bends from bad handling, probably during shipping. Apart from that it seemed in excellent shape. I asked how much and they said 25k. After pricing sha, we settled at 15k. Didn’t even look hard at the specs until I got home. Pure luck my friend

I think you’re the one beefing o. Nobody’s said anything about if the ps4 can or cannot do anything. Ain’t no fuss, if you read my post you’ll see that I have an Xbox one. So I’m as much a console gamer as you are. I’m just here to enjoy the game. As soon as you can play civilization 6 on 4K please let me know. Until then please respect other people’s choices as to what platform they choose and chop life. It’s never the competition people make it out to be.

You know, I’ve always wondered how the console graphics compare to the PC. Console gaming has its perks but PC will always remain king. No fanboy should come and derail my thread o.

Same here am thinking of building a Desktop for Emulation but I will go with Intel. Your bro build is like yours but he runs dual GPU 1080ti, 32GB Ram, 1TB HDD, 256 Gb SSD, but sadly he's also using AMD Ryzen but since it's 3D it will be using more of the multi cores.
I think AMD floored intel with the ryzen though. Unless you’re really looking at single core performance, the AMD is a much cheaper and better choice right now. Still watching for the benchmarks from the 9th generation intel cores though.

Nice build btw. Real nice

4GB graphics card for sale.

Contact O9O73904042 for price
GTX 1050, as you can see I have already posted a price. Is yours lower than that? So maybe someone looking to build can test it. I never really understood why people hide their prices.

UPDATE
Price is N80,000. Says it’s negotiable though

Bro, I used one of these guys( Mayall) to ship from Amazon, they are good just that they delay. The NZXT case is around $70-79. Sometimes, it can fall to $60-69. It depends on when you buy it.

About the game codes, maybe my case is unique. Don't worry, you might get them. grin grin
Thanks man. The shipping on these cases is mad o. Because of their weight. I'll ask a friend to scour lagos for me. Please is there anyone following this thread that knows where I can buy ATX Desktop cases in Lagos? Help a brother out o

I am keenly following on this. Let see how it goes here on nairaland because I hope to build one soon. Thanks
That’s great. I hope more people jump into building again. It’s almost non existent in Nigeria. Most of the stores I entered have 2009 motherboards. Someone even offered me a core i3 second generation cpu with the claim “this one is the best you can get” smh

Good job man. The NZXT 500 is a good case (it's the case I'm using for my current build). If you like RBG lights, then go for the i500.

Good luck in your build.

P.s. most of those free games stuff is scam cheesy angry I think it's region specific. I bought my GPU two weeks back, but I did not receive the game codes. I did not kukuma disturb myself. Because, I did not like the games.
Please how much is the case and where can I get in Nigeria? Shipping a case is a lot of money abeg.

About not getting the games...hmmm...we die here o...they must give me my codes.
