Religion / Re: From Pastor To Atheist: Why I Will Never Be A Christian Again by Seunzz(m): 2:02pm On Nov 22, 2016
HardMirror:
CONTINUATION...
My gradual loss in believe in the bible kept growing. I can say 2010 was the year I was last a christian, 2011 was the year of researching christianity and asking the important questions, 2012 I made up my mind i have had enough of being afraid of the truth.

We give a lot of excuses for god when things don't work out the way we expect and we praise god when coincidentally things fall in place.

Had another incidence in 2010 which rattled my faith.
One of my favorite books was "GOD's GENERALS" and the story of Kathrine KULMAN was my favorite. I got very carried away by one of her proteges BENNY HIN and really loved his book GOOD MORNING HOLY SPIRIT.
I always felt I had a similar calling to Kathrine Kulman. So marriage was something I believed won't be for me. All I wanted was to fully give myself to God.
So when ever I have the opportunity, I made sure I let the Spirit work fully. Manifesting so people would know God is real and affects their reality.
I never felt anything is impossible for God.
So early 2010 (before the idanre Outreach), we were on outreach to Ajabuto, a farming community in Ondo state.
The head of the community was a blind man and they still served idols. In fact there was an idol right in from of the community head's house.

This Outreach was a turning point in the lives of all ASF members that were involved. (We must have been more than 40 that were involved).
Everyone that went on this outreach returned to futa fully convinced of the supernatural.
For the first time in their lives, they were laying hands on the sick and casting out demons.

That night as the villagers gathered and I preached, many never knew what to expect. When I began giving word of knowledge and people were coming out responding. I asked the other ASF members I was with to start praying for people laying hands on them. And the whole place exploded.
I remember a brother coming to meet me after the program excited and saying he could not believe he layed hands on people and they were falling and reacting to the power of God. Many ASF members that were on this outreach got baptised in the spirit with evidence of speaking in tongues.
It was spectacular. It was like being in the Shangrila of the Holy Spirit.

We were confident God was ready to do anything and everything no matter how impossible it may seem.

The community head did not attend the crusade so we visited him early in the morning the next day. Remember the man was blind and had an idol at the entrance to his house.

Long story short, this man gave his life to christ that morning, abolished idol worshiping.
BUT. How could we preach a God that is greater than all other gods, a God who is the Almighty, All powerful! All loving!
A god we claim is better than his idol and yet leave this man blind. NO way! This man will see today!
So we prayed that God should restore his sight. A simple prayer that did not work. Then we had to query the man if he lacked faith (I remember this incidence with sadness). The man was almost in tears, he kept shout ""Jesu Mogbagbo!"
("Jesus I believe!". )
Damn!
"Heal me! I believe!"
Seeing him in this condition asking Jesus to heal him touched me. I insisted we won't leave until he sees.
We prayed and prayed and prayed. You can guess the rest. The man stayed the same.

I could not sleep the night of that day. I kept asking, "why?"

"Maybe the man lacked faith" common you can't be serious this man wanted to see badly, he wanted God to heal him. He was begging God with all his heart.
"Maybe I was doing it to show off". Haba! I knew I wasn't. I felt bad for this poor man.
There was absolutely no reason why God should not have healed that man.
God was mute, he never told me why.
Yet he promises that, "ANYTHING WE ASK IN HIS NAME SHALL BE GRANTED. ANYTHING!" "IF WE HAD FAITH LIKE A MUSTARD SEED WE WILL ASK MOUNTAINS TO BE UPROOTED AND THROWN INTO THE SEA" don't try to twist these scriptures. They are simple and straight forward, Problem is it does not work. Even if you have faith as big as pawpaw you can never command grass to be uprooted talkless of commanding mountain with mustard seed faith.
God is a liar, he does not honor his promises. Deep in my heart I knew this was the answer, but I had a deep relationship with God that would never allow such to take root easily.
But if God could not do this what can he now do? What was the value of his promises. His word that he has exulted above all His names?

Indeed something was wrong.
I can't continue to blame myself, the devil and people for God not doing what he promises even after all criterias has been met. And most annoying is he won't even reveal why he is not honouring his word, you have to keep guessing.

Indeed something was wrong, I knew where the problem was, but it was terrifying to even think of it. So God takes glories for good things that coincidentally happens to man (hard work or coincidence), but we take the blame when God fails in his own end of the bargain

Wow... Such long thread but i read it all.

Bro... If being an atheist serves you best, kindly Proceed. We've all got the power and freewill to choose. Deut. 30vs19 part b. Also Deut.11vs26-28. You were once very hot for God, and you chase God's business with all you could. That's great. Now, you think its all fraud and want to be an Atheist, please follow that path as best as you can as well. You have something even God wouldn't interfere with, your WILL.

I stay abroad and was fortunate to have a friend who vehemently supported the idea of atheism. He was a fanatic who would use such heavy curse words against God. I remember most times i couldn't answer many of his 'mind disturbing' questions about God, lost souls, creation etc., as well. Long story short, he got terribly sick at some point and suffered a lot... (Sad one ...ehh). The good news was he died praying with deep sorrow to the same God he cursed, for forgiveness.

What happened to Taiwo? Well, i can't say. What happened and caused the change of mind and perception? I really cannot tell. But i just know something happened.

Where is he now? Heaven or Hell? I don't know - As i understand as a christian , that there's only two alternative destinations of the afterlife... Well, what i know as regards my late friend Taiwo is God is merciful still, and Just.

legendprac:

Do you know a OLD coza member? let the person tell us if they were having two services

Yes Coza runs two services. I was one of the foundational memebers while we worship at Kwara Hotel, Ilorin, before moving to a building off Tanke,Tipper garage, previously used as a club(sorry can't remember the name atm). Actually the church erected a new building on the property years after. Stopped attending COZA only some 2-3years ago when i felt i needed a change. I'm still trying to come to terms with all these allegations cos' i used to have a fiance in that same Pastorial care unit way back then. I knew something was up when Pastor wole, Pastor Flo an even Pastor Modele herself didn't help me talk some sense into her head when she started acting up.

Anyways, the Man of God is not supernatural afterall cos' i do wonder then how those Pastors cope around many of those ladies (church and depts.especially pastorial care) in short and very revealing dress without ever thinking of bleeping them.

Surely, God is ever seeing, ever present, and ever forgiving. Who am i to Judge, defend, or castigate either party? God help us all.

Religion / Re: Reasons A Former Pastor Became An Atheist by Seunzz(m): 11:46pm On Apr 18, 2013
To all Atheists...
Psalms 14v1: The fool hath said in his heart, There is no God. They are corrupt, they have done abominable works, there is none that doeth good.

To all Christians...
Proverbs 12v23 A prudent man concealeth knowledge: but the heart of fools proclaimeth foolishness.

Proverbs 14v7 Go from the presence of a foolish man, when thou perceivest not in him the lips of knowledge.

Atheists should know...
1Cor 1v25 Because the foolishness of God is wiser than men; and the weakness of God is stronger than men.

1Cor 1v27 But God hath chosen the foolish things of the world to confound the wise; and God hath chosen the weak things of the world to confound the things which are mighty

1Cor 3v19-20. 19 For the wisdom of this world is foolishness with God. For it is written, He taketh the wise in their own craftiness. 20 And again, The Lord knoweth the thoughts of the wise, that they are vain.

Finally, why a Christian should Never Argue with Atheists...
Luke 8v10. 10 And he said, Unto you it is given to know the mysteries of the kingdom of God: but to others in parables; that seeing they might not see, and hearing they might not understand.

European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga) / OFFICIAL: Southampton FC Sacks Its Manager, Nigel Adkins by Seunzz(m): 2:26pm On Jan 18, 2013
Southampton fc have sacked Nigel Adkins and appointed former Argentinian international, Mauricio Pochettino as manager.

Adkins has been relieved of his duties with the club concerned about a lack of activity in the transfer market.

The Saints are currently 15th in the table following a good run of form that has seen them lose just twice in their last 12 games, but that has not been enough to keep Adkins at St Mary's.

Adkins happens to be the newest of the many managers sacked by premier league clubs.

Sports / Pyramid And Triangle Signs All Through The Olympics Opening Ceremony by Seunzz(m): 1:15am On Jul 28, 2012
Just wondering if I'm the only one who noticed the illumi...whatever signs all through the opening ceremony. I stand to be corrected that there weren't lighting effects of the pyramid and Triangle signs all through the show. They were so evident during Sir Paul's performance. Also, youtube vidoes regarding the Logo are quite disturbing too.

meforkene: Nigerians should stop exhibiting their ignorance!please!there's nothing like illuminati anymore..what does it means,..simply:enlightened,the light.it existed in d times of michealangelo, einstien,da vinci, raphael di santi,..(These ppl were actually enlightened)...so sad that the da vinci syndrome that hit the world over 7years ago is just touching us now...and please illuminati is simply scientific n against religion..not these entertainment puppets

Obviously you've read Dan Brown's 'Angels and Demons' book but started reading from chapter 1. Else you would have be informed that cern, antimatter, and THE BROTHERHOOD OF THE ILLUMINATE are all factual.

Days when the illuminati used to be about science are gone. Now we have the darker and evil version

I just urge Nigerians to continue to be patient.

I have not spoken on the issue for strategic reasons, but I believe that at the end, Nigerians will come to believe and to see that for the 13 years that I have invested in championing good governance, accountability and probity in this country, that this last trial is a trial from God and I believe in the end we shall prevail.”

Was he otherwise saying, Nigerians are very patient people, and thereby, are fools. We should be patient while you and your colleagues in the 'Legislathieves' keep stealing and ruining our economy with your useless laws. YOU WON'T PREVAIL!!!!!!!!!

2) Where unavoidable, go along with your BB, ping Otedola, do not talk.
3) Never wear any form of head cover/cap: prevention is better than cure.

cool Memorize them.
9) Where you flout any of the rules, prepare to deny, accept, deny again, and finally confess.
10)Prepare for judiciary's cash/cut in the event that the devil entered you and you failed to heed these warnings.

Religion / Re: Is Nigeria Morally Better Than U.S? by Seunzz(m): 2:18pm On Jun 11, 2012
Each number of the 10Commandments started with 'Thou Shall not'. I believe Morals originated from there. If morals were objective, then there cannot be any law or justice cos' if Mr. A sees murder as bad, Mr. B could see it as okay(if need be).

Zodiac61:

You get me wrong. I am not arguing against objective morals.
However, in my experience everybody seems to to assume that they are more moral than the next man.
This, IMHO, is because when we start talking about morality, we assume that we are all starting from the same place. We are not.
Before we can have a meaningful discussion on morality, we need to define exactly what we mean.
I, for instance, would reject any attempt to define morality in terms of the bible or the koran or the gita.
Should there be one universal objective set of morals? Yes, there should.
Is there one universal objective set of moral acceptable to all? I am afraid that the jury is out on that.
Phones / Re: Nigerians May Just Save Blackberry From Extinction by Seunzz(m): 10:10am On May 28, 2012
Tinyemeka: I felt insulted when I read the part in the article where it said most people buy a BB for the reason of aspiration and creating the impression of having "arrived". Well, I'm not most people. And that is not the reason why I bought my BB and I'm sure a lot of other share the same thought.

I was tired of hearing all the noise people kept making about the superiority of Androids, iOS and other OS over BB OS. iPhones are grossly over-priced and over-hyped. I had a bad experience with Samsung and the rest all look like China phones to me and so I got a Nokia N900. The fone has been a dead weight in my pocket. I tried browsing (which is my main interest in phones) and my entire credit was wiped out in a short time. I tried downloading Operamini v11 (there's only the Beta version for the fone). Didn't work. Conflict with the phone's Maemo 5 OS. Opera 6.5 won't download and as I discovered, there is no Opera mini version for N900. Anybody with a counter opinion should pls shout it. Now I hardly browse with the fone for fear of burning my credit and I'm back to relying on my BB.

As far as I'm concerned, BB is the best phone for the majority of Nigerians. Not everyone is a phone geek, or gamer who has to constantly rely on phone cheats and tricks to get low-cost browsing. Let's call a spade a spade.

True. Those are basic facts
