Match Previews Liverpool vs Manchester United: Europa League Preview and Prediction By Kenneth Offor - March 9, 2016 Liverpool vs Manchester United UEFA Europa League Kick-Off Time After loosing the League Cup, Liverpool continue their Quest for Silverware this campaign as they host Manchester United at Anfield for the Europa League round of 16 tie. The two teams will renew the Rivalry between them as they face each other on thursday for the 1st Leg of the round. Manchester United needs to win this contest and maintain their winning streak over Liverpool from their last 5 meetings whereas Liverpool will be hoping to bring their winless streak against The Red devils to a halt. Both teams has averaged 20 shots per game in the Europa League this campaign with Manchester United having the highest average possession percentage (62%) Liverpool vs Manchester United: Form Comparison Liverpool are gradually getting their season back on track despite loosing out on Emirates Cup via Penalty shootout, The Mersey side reds seem to be back into the game winning their last games in high spirit which include 3:0 thrashing of Manchester City and a 2:1 comeback win against Crystal Palace. Liverpool vs Man United Team Form Comparison 10Mar2016 by LeagueLane Manchester United seem to have found their scoring form as they have scored 12 goals in 5 games with their youngster Rashford scoring 4 of the 12 goals after making his debut in 5-1 thrashing of Midtjylland and scoring 2 goals against Arsenal. Liverpool: Team News Danny Ings is still out on injury and won’t return till june. The manager Klopp hopes to get a better advantage at home and will play a more aggressive game, I think he will play the same team from last week’s game Liverpool: Predicted Line Up (4-4-1-1) Mignolet – Flanagan, Lovren, Sahko, Moreno – Milner, Henderson, Can, Lallana – Firmino, Origi. Manchester United: Team News Louis Van Gaal’s injury list is getting better as half of the injured players now fit. He now has 7 senior players on his injury list compared to 14 it was on January. Rooney, Schweinstiger, Phil Jones, Valencia, Luke Shaw, Ashley Young and Cameron Borthwick-Jackson are still out on injury while no player is under Suspension for European competitons. Manchester United: Predicted Line Up (4-2-3-1) De Gea, Darmian, Smalling, Blind, Rojo, Schneiderlin, Herrera, Mata, Martial, Lingard, Rashford. Liverpool vs Manchester United: Head-To-Head stats Liverpool vs Man United head-to-head stats 10Mar2016 by LeagueLane Manchester United have been victorious against Liverpool in their last 5 matches, scoring a total of 12 goals. The Red devils are not good away, as they have lost 2 of their last 3 away games. Manchester United’s last 5 Europa league games have seen more than 2 goals scored. Liverpool have kept clean in their last 3 Europa League games, and have been victorious in their last 3 home games. Liverpool vs Manchester United: Prediction Both teams are getting their season back on track and they are in good shape. Klopp would want to win this game at all cost to give them advantage before heading to Old Trafford but Judging by statistics. United has been beating them blue-black for 2 seasons now. Football is a game of 2 halves and it’ll all end in the pitch. I think the game will end in a goalless draw (0:0) being that both teams will be playing a cautious game. European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga) / Westbromwich Albion Vs Manchester United - (1 - 0) On 6th March 2016 by seydam21(m): 12:50am On Mar 06, 2016 |
Match Preview Manchester United boss Louis van Gaal called on his squad to believe that they can reach the Barclays Premier League top four as they look to make it five straight victories in all competitions when they face West Bromwich Albion on Sunday. Back-to-back league wins over Arsenal and Watford - combined with Manchester City's run of three consecutive top-flight defeats - have catapulted United back into the race for a UEFA Champions League spot that previously appeared to be out of reach. Van Gaal's team are now level on points with fourth-placed City having played one match more and also sit within four points of Arsene Wenger's struggling Gunners in third. But despite the recent turnaround, a victory is not a formality - West Brom have lost only two of the last six league matches against United, who have only won one of their previous seven top-flight away matches. United are nine unbeaten at The Hawthorns, though, which is the only time a BPL team has gone nine or more away fixtures against one opponent at the same venue without suffering a loss. "When you see that we close the gap on the top four a little bit then your belief shall raise," said Van Gaal. "I am talking to my players and saying that they need to believe in that. I believe in that, but they need to believe in it as well. "A title is [worth] more than fourth. But the Champions League is also our aim and we get that by winning the Europa League or finishing fourth. We have to beat West Bromwich Albion and that will not be easy. "Last year we played there and drew, so it is not an easy opponent and at home we also lost against them. But we won at home this season and we hope to also win on Sunday." That 2-0 win came in November for United, whose supporters are hoping Chris Smalling (shoulder) will be passed fit to play, while Van Gaal is reluctant to risk Marouane Fellaini, Phil Jones and Antonio Valencia until they have played for the Under-21 side first, although they are in contention if required. West Brom, meanwhile, are without Jonny Evans (hamstring) against his former club, as well as Chris Brunt (knee), James Morrison (hamstring) and Callum McManaman (foot). Tony Pulis' hosts are on a good run having lost just twice in their last 10 league outings, a streak that has given them a 12- point cushion over the bottom three as they sit in 13th position. "If we can get to 40 points in the next few games [West Brom have 36], we will then try to get more points than the club has ever got in this league," said Pulis. "They [United] are a good side, they have got some good players. We know it will be a tough game, they have had a great result again on Wednesday so they will come full of confidence. "It is just making sure the players enjoy the challenge. The big thing is to enjoy it. The last three league games, we have won at Everton, beaten Crystal Palace and then had a good draw at Leicester. The last two games, Leicester and Palace, have been full of goals as well so it keeps everybody quiet." Match Preview Manchester United manager Louis van Gaal has revealed that Anthony Martial and Matteo Darmian are ready to return for Wednesday's Barclays Premier League encounter against Watford. Martial missed out the wins against FC Midtjylland, in the UEFA Europa League, and Arsenal in the Barclays Premier League, with a hamstring problem enabling Marcus Rashford to break into the first teams with a brace in each match. Darmian also faces competition for a right-back berth with Guillermo Varela one of the stand-out performers in the victory over Arsenal, although either could also operate on the opposite flank. A late decision will be made on Chris Smalling, who has been out since picking up an injury during a collision with the advertising hoardings during their FA Cup fifth-round victory over Shrewsbury Town, while Marcos Rojo suffered what Van Gaal described as "a kick" which will be assessed ahead of the match. "Players are coming back in March, I think," the United manager told MUTV on Tuesday. "We need players who are coming back because our programme is very full. "Martial can play and also Darmian can play. Maybe Chris Smalling can play. We have to wait and see for tomorrow." The 3-2 victory over Arsenal has rekindled hopes of a late-season charge to finish in the top four, with United now sitting within three points of Manchester City, having played one match more. "There are a lot of points to take, but football is very quick so we now need to make sure that we win against Watford,” Morgan Schneiderlin, the midfielder, told MUTV. "We have seen this season all the teams above slip up and all the teams have some bad results. So it is up to us to exploit that. "We had a big discussion a few weeks ago, saying the results were not what we expect, but also that it is not only about us. It is about the whole city, about the whole football club. So we need to make sure we place Manchester United in the right place." Visiting Watford drew 0-0 at home to AFC Bournemouth on Saturday and have only lost once in their last five to sit in 10th position on 37 points. They have failed to score in five of their last seven league matches, though, and have lost all of their last 10 meetings with United in all competitions, including the 2-1 reverse at Vicarage Road in November. Captain Troy Deeney said: "Bournemouth was one of those games where both teams could have stayed out all day and not scored. We will take the draw, thankfully we didn't lose and we will move on to Man United on Wednesday. "We have got to be realistic, yes we didn't score, but we didn't lose and it's another clean sheet. We will take the positives from it and will have to up our game come Wednesday night. "There is no time to be reflecting on things, we have got Man United away and if we beat them it turns into a great week with four points from two games." Quique Sanchez Flores may rest ever-present midfielder Etienne Capoue after he was taken off against AFC Bournemouth, while Jose Manuel Jurado (calf) is still expected to be out. Manchester United (from): De Gea, Romero, Borthwick-Jackson, Fosu-Mensah, McNair, Riley, Rojo, Smalling, Valencia, Varela, Weir, Blind, Carrick, Fellaini, Herrera, Januzaj, Lingard, Mata, Pereira, Schneiderlin, Depay, Martial, Rashford. Man Utd v Midtjylland preview David De Gea was injured during the warm-up ahead of the first leg Manchester United will again be without goalkeeper David de Gea for the second leg of their Europa League last-32 tie with FC Midtjylland. The Spain international was injured in the warm up ahead of the first leg in Denmark and misses out again having failed to sufficiently recover from that knee problem. Louis van Gaal's side slipped to a 2-1 defeat last Thursday meaning either a 1-0 win or victory by two clear goals will see them progress. United recovered from that first-leg defeat to beat League One Shrewsbury 3-0 in the FA Cup on Monday, while Midtjylland have had a full week to recover and prepare for the game at Old Trafford with the Danish Superliga only returning after its winter break this weekend. Paul Onuachu (L) of FC Midtjylland scored the winner in the first leg Team news Chris Smalling will be assessed after sustaining a knock colliding with an advertising hoarding at Shrewsbury. Cameron Borthwick-Jackson and Will Keane are other doubts after sustaining knocks in Monday's FA Cup tie, while Antonio Valencia (ankle) and Adnan Januzaj (cup- tied) trained with the squad on the eve of the game but will miss out. Donald Love comes back into contention and the returning Marcos Rojo could play 20 minutes, but Wayne Rooney (knee), Marouane Fellaini (muscle injury) and Matteo Darmian (shoulder) are out, as are Phil Jones, Luke Shaw, Ashley Young and Bastian Schweinsteiger. Opta stats Midtylland are unbeaten on both their visits to England (W1 D1), winning on their only previous visit to Manchester (Man City 0-1 Midtylland). Manchester United have racked up 10 goals in the three home matches played against Danish opposition in European competition, winning two and drawing the other. The Danish outfit are now unbeaten in three games against English sides (W2 D1), winning each of the last two fixtures. Michael Carrick, Anthony Martial and Andreas Pereira of Manchester United react to Paul Onuachu's goal Manchester United last reversed a 1-2 first leg defeat in the 2007 Champions League Quarter-finals against Roma, by winning the second leg 7-1 at Old Trafford. Midtjylland have lost their last two away clashes in Europe and have failed to score while conceding six goals. United have won seven of the last nine home matches in Europe (D2), last losing at home in Europe back in March 2013 against Real Madrid. |

Good afternoon to you all nairalander, happy sunday and a Valentine day (God's Love).....His Love and mercy which endureth forever will never leave us IJN My name is OLUWASEYI, A student of futa, attending CHRIST LIBERATION MISSION INTL AKURE behind transformer, ire Akari Estate1 Akure. Ondo state. On behave of this church photographs below we need your help readers for the completion of this great tabernacle. Sowed to the house of God and received hundredfold as it is for Isaac (Gen 26:12) PASTOR'S SPEECH Greed and selfishness are sins that we must work toward abolishing. Although this might be difficult to do, as Christians, we should try our very best to live a holy life. Think not of what you can do for yourself - but think of what you can do for others. After all, God gave his only begotten Son to save us from our sins! No one is perfect, but that doesn't mean we shouldn't try to avoid greed throughout our life. We should spend our days giving to others and not keeping score. This is so hard to do. We should try to reflect on all of the times in our lives that we were completely selfless. It's hard to think of times, isn't it? That's why we need to be better Christians every day of our lives! It's important to be willing to give, both to the Lord and His Church and to other people in need. If you want to know what the Bible says about giving, then be sure to read the Bible verses on giving below. Deuteronomy 15:10 You shall surely give him, and your heart shall not be grieved when you give to him: because that for this thing the LORD your God shall bless you in all your works, and in all that you put your hand to. Deuteronomy 16:17 Every man shall give as he is able, according to the blessing of the LORD your God which he has given you. 1 Chronicles 29:9 Then the people rejoiced, for that they offered willingly, because with perfect heart they offered willingly to the LORD: and David the king also rejoiced with great joy. Proverbs 3:27 Withhold not good from them to whom it is due, when it is in the power of your hand to do it. Proverbs 21:26 He covets greedily all the day long: but the righteous gives and spares not. Proverbs 28:27 He that gives to the poor shall not lack: but he that hides his eyes shall have many a curse. Malachi 3:7 Even from the days of your fathers you are gone away from my ordinances, and have not kept them. Return to me, and I will return to you, said the LORD of hosts. But you said, Wherein shall we return? Malachi 3:10 Bring you all the tithes into the storehouse, that there may be meat in my house, and prove me now herewith, said the LORD of hosts, if I will not open you the windows of heaven, and pour you out a blessing, that there shall not be room enough to receive it. Matthew 6:1 Take heed that you do not your alms before men, to be seen of them: otherwise you have no reward of your Father which is in heaven. Luke 3:11 He answers and said to them, He that has two coats, let him impart to him that has none; and he that has meat, let him do likewise. Luke 6:30 Give to every man that asks of you; and of him that takes away your goods ask them not again. John 3:16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. Acts 20:35 I have showed you all things, how that so laboring you ought to support the weak, and to remember the words of the Lord Jesus, how he said, It is more blessed to give than to receive. 2 Corinthians 9:6 But this I say, He which sows sparingly shall reap also sparingly; and he which sows bountifully shall reap also bountifully. 2 Corinthians 9:10 Now he that ministers seed to the sower both minister bread for your food, and multiply your seed sown, and increase the fruits of your righteousness You can help the work of God by sending a token to this account number ACCT NAME: AKINOLA SEYI DAMILOLA ACCT NO: 0036307772 BANK: GTB ABIODUN DARE. Match Preview Manchester United midfielder Michael Carrick hailed the form of team-mate Anthony Martial as his side prepare to travel to Sunderland in the Barclays Premier League on Saturday. Martial, 20, has scored once and picked up three assists in his last three matches in all competitions as he impresses on the left wing. Carrick has been hugely impressed by Martial, who will be one of United's main threats at the Stadium of Light as they bid to close the gap on the top four. Louis van Gaal's side are six points adrift of fourth-placed Manchester City with 13 matches remaining, but have only lost once in their last seven league matches going into Saturday’s match. "His performances have been very good," Carrick said of Martial to www.manutd.com. "He makes it look so effortless. It almost looks like he is not really sprinting but he has that burst of two or three yards to get past players. "You certainly wouldn't want to be defending against him one-on-one in the box because once he knocks it by you and gets that yard, he is away. He has been so effective for us in the last couple of games. "The amount of ability he has got is huge. The potential is certainly there. It is easy to forget the age he is and how little football he has actually played as well. "To have such an impact at this stage, with the expectations based on him and the way he's dealt with it, has been superb." Adnan Januzaj (hamstring) and Guillermo Varela (knock) both suffered injuries in Man Utd’s 7-0 Barclays Under-21 Premier League victory over Norwich City on Monday, adding to a lengthy injury list, but Phil Jones (ankle) returned in that match. Sunderland manager Sam Allardyce confirmed that Younes Kaboul (ankle), Sebastian Larsson (knee), Jeremain Lens (hernia) and Duncan Watmore (ankle) have all been ruled out. Billy Jones (hip) is also a doubt, but Fabio Borini should return from illness. Adam Johnson has had his contract terminated by the club. Sunderland have not won in the BPL against United at the Stadium of Light in 13 attempts, but they could do with ending that run as they sit 19th in the table, four points adrift of safety despite last week's comeback 2-2 draw at Liverpool. Allardyce said: "It is a necessity to start winning a few matches and then, as always, if we can't then take the point. Hopefully that will give us the drive and confidence to get out of trouble. "Let's try to play as well as we did against Manchester City [a 1-0 home defeat] and see if we can get some points. If we can put up the same show as we did against City, we are going to give them a really good game. "But I would say to the players 'make sure you get a result if you are going to give a performance like that'. More than ever before our life is about results rather than performances. "I think that we are going to have to fight until the end of the season now. There is no doubt about that based on the amount of points we have to catch up and the number of games left."
