IslamRe: Ten Things You Didn’t Know About The Kaaba by shakaz(op): 4:03am On Oct 04, 2013
9. It used to have two doors …
and a window
The original Kaaba used to have a
door for entrance and another for
exit. For a considerable period of
time it also had a window
situated to one side. The current
Kaaba only has one door and no
window.
IslamTen Things You Didn’t Know About The Kaaba by shakaz(op): 3:53am On Oct 04, 2013
There is no place on Earth as
venerated, as central or as holy to
as many people as Mecca. By any
objective standard, this valley in
the Hijaz region of Arabia is the
most celebrated place on Earth.
Thousands circle the sacred Kaaba
at the centre of the Haram
sanctuary 24 hours a day. Millions
of homes are adorned with
pictures of it and over a billion
face it five times a day.
The Kaaba is the epicenter of
Mecca.
The cube shaped building is at the
heart of the most well-known real
estate in the history of mankind;
it is shrouded in black and its fair
share of mystery.
Here are just a few things that
most people may not know about
the Kaaba:
10. It has been reconstructed
several times
The Kaaba that we see today is
not exactly the same Kaaba that
was constructed by Prophets
Ibrahim and Ismail From
time to time, it has needed
rebuilding after natural and man-
made disasters.
Of course, we all know of the
major reconstruction that took
place during the life of the
Prophet before he became a
Prophet . This is the occasion
when the Prophet averted
major bloodshed by his quick
thinking on how to place the
Black Stone using a cloth that
every tribe could lift up.
Since then, there has been an
average of one major
reconstruction every few
centuries. The last renovation
took place in 1996 and was
extremely thorough, leading to
the replacement of many of the
stones and re-strengthening the
foundations and a new roof. This
is likely to be the last
reconstruction for many centuries
(inshā'Allāh) as modern
techniques mean that the building
is more secure and stable than
ever before.

decode55: you dunno what you're saying. They've not started paying yet. When they want to, they'll send everybody emails and text messages. Then after the procedures, They'll give you a special atm card for the scholarship. That's what they did last year
Before you quote somebody wrong, why not try reading carefully. The guy is a beneficiary already and he said he forgot the said agbami atm in school so he can't verify the payment... What wrong with that. Nairaland's OVS

CareerRe: Do U Think Petroleum Engineering Is A Good Course To Study? by shakaz(m): 11:04am On Sep 04, 2013
kika41: Ohh...buh I thought petroleum engineers are more smarter than other engineers?
doubt if that is close to the truth. Petroleum Engineers are more of advance Geologist to me with little of Engineering principles. Just that the name seems pretty alluring as almost every Engineer wants to work in the petroleum industry, hereby making the course to attract brain and stiff competition. I believe same thing would happen if you take a sub-section of Electrical and Electronic Engineering called Telecomm Engineering, people would also rush for it with the sole aim of working for telecomm not knowing its to narrow...So my take is don't join the crowd know what you really want, and dont study a course with the sole aim of land in a particular industry.

It works no doubt, it is easier if you retaining your current dept. Just make sure you meet the required GPA. You will need to visit the DSA of OAU first before considering requesting your transcript.

RomanceRe: My Girlfriend Wants Access To My Scholarship Money. by shakaz(m): 11:17pm On Aug 01, 2013
@Op, I must commend you for your astuteness.
Again congrats for making front page.
I will comeback to this topic. BUT 1ST LET ME BEGIN WITH A CONCLUSION, If you are this shrewd why not try converting it in a positive way, I suggest you write a book with the late Napoleon Hills you should name it ''THINK and GROW POPULAR'' no sarcasm!!

Now back to your life, late June this year you created a topic about your gf not having accomodation and wanting you two to live together. That shows she'z not always thinking straight or not as smart as you say she.
Early last month(July) same you created a thread about ''A dean in your faculty of law age 30, appointed by RECTOR of YOUR UNIVERSITY who wanted you to impregnate her''.. Well after much critism on that thread and insult on how the story was fabricated and how that same story has appeared years ago in blogs.same thread explain 30year old being a dean is not feasible and how a University is headed by a vice chancellor not a rector.
You still have the zeal of creating yet another repugnant story.
NB:1. NLNG n SHELL are open to all state they might give preference to host community but all states can apply.
2. The amount you stated was far far exaggerated.

Having said this, My advice to you is get to know your hobby it could be weaving(fabric----ation). Anything to get your busy because an Idle brain they say.........

Dubemkelly: DAY THE PENIS ASKED FOR A RAISE

I Penis, hereby request a raise in
salary for the following reasons:

• I do physical labour.
• I work at great depths.
• I plunge headfirst into everything I do.
• I do not get weekends or public holidays off.
• I work in a damp environment.
• I work in a dark workplace that has poor
ventilation.
• I work in high temperatures.
• My work exposes me to contagious diseases.

Sincerely,
P. Niss

The Response:

Dear P. Niss:

After assessing your request, and
considering the arguments you have raised, the
administration rejects your request for the
following reasons:

• You do not work 8 hours straight.
• You fall asleep after brief work periods.
• You do not always follow the orders of
• the management team.
• You do not stay in your designated area
• and are often seen visiting other locations. • You do not take initiative
• you need to be pressured and stimulated in
order to start working.
• You leave the workplace rather messy at the
end of your shift.
• You don't always observe necessary safety regulations, such as wearing the correct
protective clothing.
• You will retire well before you are 65.
• You are unable to work double shifts.
• You sometimes leave your designated work
area before you have completed assigned task.
• And if that were not all, you have been seen
constantly entering and exiting the workplace
carrying two suspicious looking bags.

Sincerely,
V Gina
