I’m a bit confused about the transmission fee. If I am sending the passport of the Lagos office (we did biometrics in Lagos) should we still pay the transmission fee?

Yes, get an envelope and put the following inside and take to DHL office.

put two photocopies of your passport data page

your yellow or white biometrics slip

passport request letter

consent form downloaded and signed

Print out receipts of the 7430 naira.


Note: you are signing just the second page of the consent form

passport itself

one plain sheet of paper where you can write your address and phone number .

If you did biometrics in Lagos and want to send to Lagos , no fees is paid to VFS.
But If you did biometrics in Lagos and want to send to Abuja , you are paying 7430 to CANADA LOGISTIC COLLECTION ACCOUNT (a/c no 0065165839) sterling bank.

If choosing Abuja, DHL will deliver to the following address below:

why are you misleading people with the amount to be paid? some wrote 9410 you write 7430. which one should be believed?


The process involved in passport stamping:

Abuja Address;Visa Application Centre, sterling bank plaza, 3rd floor, plot No 1083, Mohammadu Buhari Way, Central Business District, Abuja Nigeria

Lagos Address; Visa Application Centre Ground Floor, The Manor Plot 110, Admiral ayinla way, lekki phase 1 lagos Nigeria

Requirement; if you did your biometrics in abuja, Theres no fee except for delivery fees.
buy an envelope.

IF NOT, You will first pay a transmission fee of N9410 to CANADA LOGISTIC COLLECTION account(0065165839) Sterling bank
Then print the receipt from your phone(coloured).

if you did your biometrics in lagos. Go to DHL closer to you and pay for 2-way courier and also pay for insurance to be sent to canada VAC Abuja, buy a fresh brown envelope and add the following NB; remember to give DHL a return address since its a 2 way courier

1.)put two photocopies of your passport data page(coloured)
2.)your yellow or white biometric strip(if you have misplaced these paper go to VFS so theyll sort you out). If you dont have the slip you can still send it regardless or you can add the BVL(biometric validation letter)
3.)Passport request letter
4.)1 copy of the consent form downloaded and signed( note u are filling and signing just the second page of your consent form)

4.)one plain sheet of paper where you can write your Name, address, Email, phone number and signature
5.)one coloured copy of the receipt of the transmission fee payment

Well well. I’m a lowkey observer here.

I got my bvl/ppr (SOWP) today. I’m grateful to the almighty for his mercies. After trials and errors, multiple denials and delays, finally God came through. I applied since October 2021, got my medicals passed this Monday, and today I got my good news.

I’m talking to you reading this….don’t give up, pray and chill….God did not forget you, your blessings are inevitable. Can’t wait to see the beautiful city and meet my beautiful wife. God bless everyone.

I give God all the glory for this blessing.
I got my study permit in August 2021 for the Fall 2021 session and I came into Canada with my second daughter in October 2021. My first daughter has been in Canada since 2017 studying, so we came to join her, while I also started my own program.
My husband applied for his open work permit and the wait began....we never knew it would would be delayed this long. I was so hopeful that he would get his permit by December 2021 so we would all have a white Christmas. December came, nothing happened...came to the SOWP thread on nairaland and saw that people had been waiting for months...as far back as January 2021. This wasn't encouraging at all.
We kept sending webforms and emails. I would send webforms on my husband's behalf, I also asked him to keep sending from his side. Gave him all the email addresses and the webform links I used during my study permit application (got them from the student visa thread).
Meanwhile, my daughter's graduation was drawing near, June 14, 2022 precisely, so we decided to use that as an opportunity for IRCC to speed up my husband's application so he could attend our daughter's graduation.
I asked my daughter to send a mail to the MP of the city where she resides while I also did to the MP of my own city. Her own MP responded, gave us the status of the application and said the application was in progress but might not be ready by her graduation. I got automated response from mine directing me to IRCC website. He hasn't really never been helpful, even when I contacted him during my study permit application.
With the news from my daughter's MP, we were hopeful but not certain if anything would happen before graduation because he mentioned it in his response. But we kept sending mails to IRCC.
About 1 week to our daughter's graduation, I changed the subject of the email to "URGENT PLEASE! MY DAUGHTER'S GRADUATION IS ONE WEEK AWAY!".....nothing about application update or enquiry...LOL, because I thought maybe they weren't even reading all the emails we had been sending, that once they see the subject, they just assume it's the usual enquiry email and they don't bother to read it....my thoughts though.
Graduation came and went, no show. Then 4 days after graduation, he got the 2 emails from IRCC.
Even though this came in much after our daughter's graduation, I am grateful to God for it has ended well to the glory of God.

I pray that everyone still waiting will receive their good news soon in Jesus name.

Note: Eligibility did not start on the portal till his PPR dropped.

Exactly the same with my application as well. SOWP was submitted Jan 2021, this week makes it 68 weeks and eligibility has not yet started. I recently submitted a visitor application with two kids on the new portal. The kids application was withdrawn on the ircc portal May 2(we will send you a letter or email with details). The spouse application was not withdrawn, and am worried as well. I pray they approve it soonest.

Seriously I feel they have either sacked the person processing SOWP for Nigeria or they assigned Ukrain and Afgan jobs to this person. If not how on earth would someone be this heartless. I'm moved to write an open letter and make a comparison between how they are treating Nigerians and other countries like India. Below, I have attached some Indians PPR, and it's so sad that they have deliberately done this to we Nigerians. Well, it is not their fault if not for the stupid government and politicians that we have, who on earth would go to a place with -40degree temperature? I'm short of words and It really frustrating that it makes me think if this Ph.D. from Canada really worth it.

I came up with the theory of occupation being in demand because; myself, another nairalander and a friend in India got Provincial Nomination. Me and the other Nairalander are in IT and we got our work permit in 3weeks while the other Indian a store supervisor still waiting for his work permit after almost 6months.

Provincial is another ball game entirely. No body understand how they choose the file they work on in Nigeria.

They used Chinook to process the application. Chinook scan the applications for key words and flag words. If there are many keywords with no flag words in the entire application package, Chinook will recommend the file into Tier 1 (less complex) and the application get faster processing but when Chinnok categorise your file into Tier 2 (medium complex), you got to wait for VO's proper review and the decision here is 50-50. If your application is grouped into Tier 3, that one will also wait for VO's review and the refusal is higher in this category.

I would like to ask about the better option between a spouse open work permit and a visitors' visa. My husband is on a study permit in Canada.Canada processing time from IRCC website revealed that spouse open work permit will take 49 weeks to process from Nigeria while it will take 139 days to process from inside Canada.
Visitors' visas will take 92 days to process from Nigeria.
However,my husband informed me that I cannot work in Canada with a visitors' visa because I cannot process a Social Insurance Number with it and that means I will be unemployed in Canada for more than 5 months if I decide to go for the Visitors' visa from Nigeria and later apply for a work visa from inside Canada.
Kindly advise on the better option.
