Governor Simon Lalong of Plateau on Tuesday lost his younger brother, Mr Wummen Bako, a family member has confirmed.

The source, who spoke on condition of anonymity, said that Bako, a lecturer at the Department of Management Sciences, University of Jos, died in Jos at the age of 45, after a protracted illness.

According to him, the deceased had received medications both within and abroad.

He said that Bako, a graduate of Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria, is survived by a wife and children.

It was learnt that Governor Lalong cancelled all official engagements on Tuesday due to the demise of his brother.

People gathered in groups at Government House, Jos, discussing the death of the man, who many, described as humble and kind.

British Airways will look into a case against one of its flight attendant who filmed a video of herself making racist comments about Nigerians, the Daily Mail reports.

The woman filmed herself in her car while she was wearing her British Airways flight attendant uniform in preparation for her flight from London Heathrow to Abuja on Friday night. She posted the one-minute video on Snapchat, causing members of the British Airways cabin crew to be “very concerned.”

“All the Nigerians are gonna be there like ‘gimme Coca Cola, gimme me beef, why you have no beef left? I want beef. And I’m just gonna be there like , ‘Sorry sir, we ran out of beef.’” she said in the video.

A shocked crew member reported the video to the Daily Mail. The airline announced that it would launch an investigation into the matter. “We expect the utmost professionalism from our staff when they are representing British Airways. We are investigating this video,” it said.

A very rare two-headed rattlesnake has been caught in the US, and is being donated to a nature centre.

The venomous snake was found this week according to American TV station KLRT and is believed to have been captured near Forrest City in Arkansas.

A Facebook post from a friend of the man who caught the snake read "It is is absolutely real! But I don't think it's a sign from God that the end times are near...".

The Arkansas Game and Fish Commission (AGFC) confirmed the snake is, indeed, real.

The author of the Facebook post, Mark Young, explained that Rodney Kelso, District Two Manager at Woodruff Electric, was the one who caught the snake.

“It’s not doing too well right now. Obviously two heads, two minds might have been thinking different things. With predators it’s easy to get to want to do two different things,” Keith Stephens with the Arkansas Game and Fish said.

Five children have become orphans after their father died of bowel cancer the day before the funeral for his wife who lost her battle with the same disease.

'Myself and my five boys, we've just lost my wife, they've lost a mother, and they've also lost their best friend as well.'
He went on to thank people for their prayers, thoughts, gifts, and for trying to make him laugh.
He added: 'I know at times people say "Be strong, be strong, be strong," but sometimes guys, it's tough.
'Where do I find that strength from? I cannot lie. It has been the most toughest thing that a husband and a father has ever had to face.'
He ends the video with a pledge to beat the illness.

The couple met as teenagers at college in Clapham, South London, before marrying in 2004 and moving to Birmingham in 2009, according to the Mirror.
Tributes have been paid online for the tragic couple and the five boys they leave behind.
Abi Babalola said: 'May God comfort your children. May they be pleased in the fact that they had amazing parents even for such a short time. May they be comforted and honour your legacy as the years progress.'
Linda Okeke added: 'Omena, we bonded over diet and fitness. You fought so very hard. No more pain. May you and your dear wife Makeda rest in perfect peace.'
Femi Iloyi, 40, said his best friend Mr Ubiaro had been 'determined' to be there for his children.

Mr Iloyi told Mirror Online shortly before his death: 'Omena is a big, muscly guy but right now he is about 8st. He is so determined to stay alive for his children.
'Omena is such a humble guy, since he was diagnosed he just pulled his socks up and carried on. I'm not he has fully processed his wife's death he is just focusing on being there for his children.'
Mrs Ubiaro had colostomy surgery shortly before her death, but her cancer spread, the Mirror said.

He asked anyone in the area at the time to contact police and said patrols would be stepped up to reassure the public.


"No one should be the subject of hate and intolerance", he said.
Local Labour councillor John Flanagan said: "This has been a dreadful attack on a place of faith. This is not just an attack on the Muslim faith but on all of us."
Mr Flanagan said a local community centre had offered space for Friday prayers and he added he had been inundated with offers of help.
Mr Oladimeji said: "We don't know why this happened. We try to be good neighbours and we try to be involved with our local community."
Deen Mayodole, vice-chairman of the mosque, added: "We are people of peace."
Nasfat (Nasrul-Lahi-l-Fathi Society of Nigeria) opened the centre in 2009 and it has about 300 members.

A 21-year-old man has become the first in Britain to give birth after he put his sex transition on hold to get pregnant by a sperm donor.
Hayden Cross, who made headlines around the world earlier this year when he announced he was pregnant by a sperm donor, has given birth to a girl.

Cross told The Sun that daughter Trinity-Leigh is his “angel”. Cross gave birth by caesarean.

The girl was born on June 16 at Gloucestershire Royal Hospital.

He had been living legally as a man for three years and was already part-way through hormone treatment to transform from a woman to a man.



But the full transition was paused after the UK’s state- funded National Health Service (NHS) refused to carry out a 4,000-pounds process to freeze his eggs — which he hoped would enable him to have children in the future.

The former supermarket worker instead found a sperm donor via Facebook and became successfully pregnant.

“She’s perfect in every way…she is so good. I’m so lucky,” Cross was quoted as saying.

Following the birth, Cross now plans to return to complete his gender realignment as soon as possible.

The proud father was born a girl named Paige, 21 years ago.

Cross, from Gloucester, had said earlier, “I faced the prospect of not becoming the man I’m supposed to be, physically, or a dad. So I didn’t feel like I had any choice but to have a baby now then get back to transitioning.”

“In September I got pregnant by a sperm donation. I found the donor on the internet. I looked on Facebook for a group and found one — it’s been shut down now. I didn’t have to pay,” Cross had said.

Cross, who used to work for Asda and in a clothes shop, aims to find a job once the baby is aged one.

Gender transition treatment costs the NHS on average 29,000 pounds per patient.

Thomas Beatie became the first man to give birth in the US in 2008.

Born a woman, he had a partial sex change but kept his womb and was able to conceive.

Chicharito believes Mexico will need a similar effort to their Gold Cup performances to defeat Germany.
Football fans are amongst the most passionate fans in sports and have a reputation for doing almost anything for the club or team they love. One Mexican national team fan took that reputation to a new level this month, when he lied to his wife in order to go watch his beloved El Tri play.

Arturo Garcia, however, didn’t just sneak out to watch the game with his mates at a pub, he flew all the way to Russia to see El Tri play in person at the Confederations Cup! Garcia apparently told his wife he was going out to the store to get some cigarettes but in reality, the Puebla resident was actually hopping on a flight from Monterrey to Germany. From there, Garcia drove to Kazan where Mexico played Portugal in their first match of the tournament.

What’s worse, Garcia apparently spent his life savings on the trip and even injured his Achilles heel before the final leg of his journey to Russia. It’s safe to say Garcia will get over the Achilles injury if Mexico were to win the Confederations Cup but the real question is whether his wife will ever forgive him?

We always appreciate football fans going to great lengths for the team they love but in this case, our friend Arturo might have taken it a bit too far. Needless to say, Arturo Garcia is going to be in some hot water after his escapades and if I were Arturo, I’d make sure I got my wife something nice from Duty Free on my way home.
