Except it's a general rule for Nigerian companies. But the company I work for does not operate under those rules. In fact they try to please female employees in all way necessary because they believe in equal opportunity/no discrimination. Male employees also get paternity leave. So it's for both sexes.

Hello house, pls I'm in a fix now and I need some clarification. my hubby and I got a visa for vacation in February, we really wanted to go for vacation then but due to the dollar scarcity, we shifted it. mid March, I was confirmed pregnant. mind u, I wasn't asked if I was pregnant during our interview and neither did I know I was pregnant den. now, I'm 3 months gone.
The issue now is my hubby and I planned going for the vacation next month (may) den I can go for childbirth later but I was told today at my office that I can't take my annual and maternity leave together in a year.
So now, I don't know what to do. can I go for childbirth later with a letter of intent since I wasn't asked if pregnant then? what are the options available for me now as I'm really confused. gurus in the house, over to u.

So how did your office know you're pregnant? You told HR? Which kain stupid rule is that? So if you take the annual leave, they'll chain you in the office to have your baby there? Except you went telling people your U.S plans in the office.
Anyway you're better take casual leave, go for vacation. Come back and plan your birthing trip.

@miracle twine, I flew them last summer to London and it was ok. You actually get what you paid for. No inflight entertainment whatsoever,so jst make sure you have your tab to keep you company.

As for food, its okay. You will be given the normal Naija food we are all used to and pls note they go directly to Gatwick.

The landing and take off is also ok.

Not as bad as I thought it will be. I can fly them again because its very cheap and they keep to time. Well, don't know if they have changed lately. This was August 2016.

Lol...I don't know why, but I always advise people to stay away from Nigerian airlines when flying international...at least till we get our act together. We have a way of messing passengers up without remorse. And when you complain, they say abi you want cheap flight.

Well to answer both your questions, as far as I know, the answer to your questions are NO! You are liable for anything your child uses here in the US. Medicals and daycare. US aint Canada that free health starts from birth. So my advice is to factor in the expense for your toddler too on this trip. Becoz they'll come for you if you have the government pay for her treatment. Well either the government or TWoods comes for you

Seriously though, you can't use free healthcare for her. There's no free healthcare in the U.S. Someone is paying somewhere, you (insurance, works, etc) or the government.

On a more serious note, you better stay away from agents when it comes to you and your visa applications. They have a way of messing up one's credibility. You are better off doing everything YOURSELF.
