Hello Nairalanders, I am scheduled to leave for Houston next week so I thought today was a good day to see my doctor before my departure and to request for a 'fit to fly certificate'. The doctor was like 'hope you are fully prepared'. That he had 2 of his patients whom he had given such certificates within the last 2/3 weeks denied entry and returned. He said he didn't ask them for details of why but one of them had already had 2 babies in the US.
Now I'm worried and scared as it appears this Trump motivated rigidity may have made things tougher.

Well, since you're worried, call the airline and cancel your ticket. Just have your baby with the oversabi DR. At least your worries will fade away grin

Maybe that Dr na jazz man so his certificates carry jazz. Lol I'm kidding oh

They don't do that anymore had my baby 9days ago. No form to fill paedritician. Hospital will give u the one on call.

Figured you gave birth in Houston. I gave birth in Atlanta and that's what they do there. Things that you paid for like Pku and hearing test, are compulsory and free in the State of Georgia. So let's find out what applies to the State we're headed. The hospital I used still gives you the form to fill your pediatrician's info on it.

@ titileps & Shawbabe.

Does Houston Northwest Medical Center accepts an outside pediatrician? Please help clarify.

Please read where I wrote a pediatrician AFFILIATED with the hospital. This applies to hospitals in general. U can't get a random Dr to come and practice in a random hospital. Even Naija no dey do am.

Of course it's after discharge. If your baby does not need NICU care I don't think you need a pediatrician. Babies are moved to Nursery after birth. Then you can take your child to see a pediatrician later. But if you want to use the hospital'so pediatrician, you will still have to schedule an appointment with them after birth. our babies will be healthy by God's grace. So there won't be need of using the hospital's ped

Nope. U are wrong. You have to understand all the steps for this project so u dont get there and face bills.

All newborns are seen by a pediatrician. She meant getting one from outside the hospital schedule that day but affiliated with the hospital. Then it'll be cheaper. That's what I did with my first baby. And I paid $120 against the $1000 the hospital would charge if they give you one themselves.

Note when u get admitted for labor, you have to fill your pediatrician's info and contact on your admission form so they call him/her when baby is born, unless they'll give you one on call that night and bill you high.

I am yet to buy my ticket ooh... its damn too expensive. I will get it next week sha. I should go with Qatar air as that seems the cheapest at about 418k as at yesterday for my travel dates. Still hoping for a miracle.

Good Day

I think I should help. I am due to give birth in May. Leaving in April.hospital is Houston North West Medical Centre and it cost 2000$ for VD. Doctor is Nicholas Xydas - 2000 USD. Was told lab test was inclusive of the bill but I don't believe. So just make provision for extra cash in case. Then Paediatricians bills is about 400USD but I am using another paediatrician from outside-200$, hearing test- 150$.
So its approximately 5000$
Hope this helps.

Did you buy your ticket yet? What airline are you using? How much? Due in Mayas well, to travel April

I heard on radio that Airfrance will be having sales between 1 to 3 March that interested persons should walk into the office in port Harcourt for it.
I don't know if it is applicable to other states too.

I hope this sale makes good sense and applies to other cities.

Hospital is Emory Midtown. Doc is Tates. We have not booked an air ticket yet (hoping to have the airlines drop fares with sales). Due in Aug, travelling in July.

We would have done TX too but Atlanta is where we have accommodation.

Are you also planning to go to Atlanta? What info do you have already?

I used Atlanta for my 1st in 2015. If u check my posts, I detailed out everything even as far as how to get baby's documents. I used Northside Atlanta though. I'm considering Tx now or even the cheap VA coz dollar is not smiling now. But if what I find is in the ball park of what Northside charges, I'll continue with them. Want to travel in April, due in May. Still looking for cheap ticket sad

Asked because Atlanta to Dallas should be a local flight and most airport international flight and domestic flight departure and arrival point are different so need to know if one would enter officially first at Atlanta then move to the domestic wing for the next flight or the airline takes care of that and your point of entry would be Dallas. This is important as it affects the number of hours stopover you select, buying my ticket online not using an agent so better one knows what to expect.

Still can't believe your question is for real. Anyway you've answered your question.

Hi everyone, I intend taking delta airline to Dallas and we would have a stop over in Atlanta before heading to Dallas. Please I would like to know if Atlanta would be the point of entry or Dallas so as to decide how many hours stop over I should select at Atlanta. Thank you.

Lol I can't believe the type of questions I see here

good day house. please Dh and i are a bit confused and will need opinions on what to do. i renewed my b1/b2 isa via drip box and was emailed to pick up my passport and schedule an appointment for an interview. i filled the forms and all through an agent, only for me to contact him on the infos he filled out and he said he put NY as POE whereas i am going to ATl, he also put that i am staying for 2 weeks and going for vacation.on finding out i was mad at him because i specifically told him to let me know if he needs any answers. now my interview is next week, i have my dr's correspondence from atl and all. we r confused as to what to do.

So people patronise thosr scammers that parade themselves as agents for visa Lol. Well u get what u paid for since u can't fill your own forms and submit

Hi, I'm due March 2017 and currently in Atlanta. Hoping to hook up with nairamums with due dates close to mine. Using Emory/Dr. Tate as well. Are you in ATL?

This Dr. Tate I hear he allows residents do his patient's delivery. I checked him out on Healthgrades...and Emory too didn't have good reviews for their Obstetrics dept. Not to scare you but do your research well. Had my child 2 years in Northside and that place is the best so far, as far as child delivery is concerned in Georgia.

Then, why cant he process your document for u so that u can have resident permit instead of using visa since he is a US Citizen? But mind u that he can still give your baby US passport even if the child was born in Nigeria.

Lol I don't think her husband is a citizen. Which kain disjointed story be that? Denied visa when ur husband na citizen Except he's married to another in the States

It doesn't matter. My family friend was already preggy when she applied but she did online application and there was nowhere they asked if she's preggy or not so she didn't indicate. She wasn't called for interview either and was given 4 yrs visa.

Now to the info everyone is itching to hearsmiley this is not MHIS Cuz Canadian system is different since our health care is free. Lemme explain.

So for her,

1. Dr fee was 750
2. Hospital was 2500 per day and she stayed just a day nd it's CS Ooo
3. Anesthesia..640

Total is 3890 CAD

The baby paid nothing because immediately he was born, he's Canadian so his health card which was given immediately at the hospital made it free. All the specialist that came to check him like eye, hearing etc was free. So this is the part that in US that adds up cuz baby have to pay.

How long did her visa take to be processed?

Well the only option I have now is the extended stay and is about 1500 for a month. Atleast you have a place to go to after delivery so it depends on u, most pple living in Richmond Virginia are whites and they ask for ssn before they can rent out and it's relatively cheap as low as $600. So still weighing my option and still hunting. I have d hotel as a backup in case I dnt see any cheaper one and the hotel is about 2miles to hospital and doctor office which is a plus for me, so use so you have to consider the distance and also factor in transportation cost even if u get a cheaper accommodation which is far away from d hospital. So the option of sharing with someone comes into play. But u r a July mum and I'm april mum though there is an april/may mum using the same hosp, doc and hotel so we are stil working on how best to share or get an apartment to share.

Mehn there's about 400 "So" in your post. So...so...so. cheesy
