dunwun: Try applying to Abuja instead of Lagos. One guy on here I believe was denied twice in Lagos then applied a 3rd time in Abuja and him and his wife got approved. So if u can make it to abuja without spending a lot, then try Abuja. 2 Likes |

shimk: So una never hear of google? Na wa o. I'm not calling yall slow but one would think that it's common sense to type in what u are looking for in Google and select anyone nearest to ur address. Use google maps pls and also google earth to see what the area looks like. This was what I did b4 leaving the house everyday in Atl. B4 I drive anywhere I don't know, I check it out on google first, including distance in km and time. Then put it on my GPS for directions. Is it everything that we will run to ask on the forum? Odikwa egwu! Type in "Kroger near me" on google or nearest kroger with ur zipcode. Initiative oh people! 13 Likes 1 Share |

Hawttattoo: I was about to say too. $1000 is waaay too high for a pediatrician. Pls try and source one outside the hospital abeg. They're usually cheaper. If u start paying 1k dollars for a newborn now, how much them go charge when the pikin comes for follow up checkup at 1 week?? 1 Like |

Newmum15: 1) Things given for free are: baby food and nipples, maternity pads and disposable panties, diapers (pampers), baby newborn white tees, and a Northside gym bag. Infact u need only go with the clothes u and baby will wear back home and toiletries. Every other thing is provided. 2) What do u mean by work with birth plan? U already discussed that with ur Dr so they should relate it to the hospital. Also note that once u are admitted u should give them ur pediatrician details if not they'll assign u an expensive one at the hospital. 3) BC cost $25 for first copy and $5 per any extra copy u want. I got 3 copies so paid $35. And u pay this at the Vital records office when u go to pock it up. But the hospital will also give u a Confirmation of Birth in writing. Better to request it on the 1st floor b4 u get discharged, so it's ready for u. If not u'll make a trip back just for that. Any other info? Hearing test is FREE so no decline am. I declined at first until I asked of it's free and they said yes. So ask b4 anything is administered to ur baby even vaccines. If not u go receive bill later oh. 4 Likes |

missusadey: Mehn I haven't checked that email in a long time. So I'll just answer u here. I used North Atlanta Obgyn @ 5780 peachtree Dunwoody road, +14042550621. Dr's fee is $2200. U have to send in ur records from naija or wherever u have been receiving pre-natal care. They'll look thru it and let u know of they'll take u on and also the cost depending on how many weeks u are when they take u on. I joined them at 28 weeks. They have like 8 Drs there. U can pick one or they'll assign u one. As for my particular Dr, I'm not sure I wanna spill her name becoz I'm a jealous patient! Lmao! She was so good to me and hilarious lady. She made sure she was the one that delivered my baby. Love her for that! Anyway beg me small let me think and decide whether to tell u her name. 1 Like |

baslone: There's nothing to track. Carry yourself and go to the Vital records office (google the address) and pick the certificate up. If not u will wait for more than 3 weeks to receive in the mail. That BC was ready sinceeee....like a day after u deliver delivered sef. 1 Like |

Hello everyone, How is everyone doing? Stopped by to say ha fa To add to what has been said, focus more on shipping diapers, wipes and clothes 3 months and above. I use my car seat and stroller oh here in abuja. Especially when I go gocery shopping at a supermarket. Or in my neighbourhood. As for baby sleeping on our bed, I refused that one from the very start. Becoz na like that e dey start dem no go gree sleep alone later. U no go even fit romance ya spouse, mba oh. Moved my baby to crib sharply. If they cry, let them. They'll learb to sleep alone and comfort themselves back to sleep. Lol I know it's harrrd. The crib I checked in in Atlanta and tagged FRAGILE, those useless airline people destroyed it when I saw it in Abuja. So we had to buy another one in Naija and claimed compensation from the airline. Yeye people. For baby food, I found Gerber gentle start powder formula wasn't breaking down well with my baby. So check what works for baby b4 shipping stuff back. Or u'll be stuck with what u won't use. 4 Likes |

Hello my people, I am safely back in Naija oh. Operation birth is complete for me, thank God it ended in praise. Just 3 important tips for first time mums coming back with their infants: 1) Thou should not buy thy infant ticket with American office of thy airline, or thou shall pay $400+ for a one way ticket. Buy thy infant ticket from the naija branch and get someone to pay them in naira for u. 2) Purchase an Infantino baby carrier coz thou shall need it @ the airport, for thy stroller and car seat shall be taken from thee and checked in all the way to naija. So if u don't wanna carry ur baby for hand thru layovers and security, buy one! Or thy hand shall break from carrying baby. 3) Thou should arrive at ur departure airport 3 hours ahead of time to make sure thou gets preference for bassinet. Very important. Also that thous shall not be running to thy gate with yelling baby in thy arms. For thou shall apear like a mad person. That's it folks! Till next pikin is conceived, thanks for everyone's contribution and for the laugh thru my final weeks of pregnancy oh. Love all of una. 36 Likes 1 Share |

mamacajah: The people quoting $438 was the North America dept of Delta. I just called their naija branch, where I bought my own ticket and they did infant ticet for me at a lesser price. I think an NL mum has mentioned it on here b4, that her husband went and paid in naija for cheaper. But that`s the acrobatic move I did oh 3 Likes |

Newmum0615: Lmao @ suspicious and superstitious! Wetin concern me and ur hub's green card? No need to be defensive lol. It's ok if u just found out my dear. I was actually messing with u when I posted that and wasn't even serious. But nice try with ur explanation though becoz if it was actually true, u would have known since and if his status will affect u. U didn't just wake up and decide to born in America. I'm sure una discuss am, or may be not. All the same, ur explanation doesn't make sense and ur question suspect. 1 Like |
