From personal experience I would say that segregating schools does not in any way prevent the occurrence of teen pregnancy or poor academic performance. In fact I think it exacerbates these things.
The thing is that young people will experiment because junior/senior highschool is the time when most of them do. They will find a way regardless of segregation to do what they want. Rather than taking the seemingly easier way out by separating the sexes, they should try to educate the children. In doing so, many of them would choose on their own to do the right thing.
When I was in 11th grade I was in a school that was segregated. The male and female students had their own building and still a boy and girl from my school had a kid before we did our IGCSEs. Not only that but unspeakable things happened in the bathroom with students as young as 10  . So basically segregation is BS. It is nothing but mere wishful thinking.

Isnt it funny that the northerners are exposing these cases, we all know that there are more curropt leaders in the south south but no complaints because the people are simply scared, it is called intimidation. With all Sincerity, and anyone who has gone to Bauchi would testify, Bauchi state has more and better (state governement) infastructure(roads) than Bayelsa, Edo(esp Benin) state. You now begin to ask what do the southern governors do with the allocated money from federal government. Even if the Federal government has failed south south which i agree completely, what about the people of the land ie their own elites (the governors, chiefs, kings and commisioners). There is no doubt that these people are the richest leaders in Nigeria. Anyways it doesnt only apply to south south, even my people self in the south have issues

if education is free in Sweden, then why cant one get the degree online then. the truth is i know alot of people working in the states and U.K , i work in NIgeria and i do alot better than them. I can afford to go on vacation to the U.K or states like twice a year and my friend has to save for like 3 to 4 years to come to Nigeria. Funny ,
Fellow Nigerians, if you can check out getting your degree on line its the same damn certificate as attending or going to the u.k .Get some education and return home and live a good life.
Back then in Atlanta, i passed a burial ground and saw a coffin being lowered into the ground and guess what, only a man and a little girl attended (probably a husband and daughter), Dont understand their way of life. It depends on what industry you work wif. I am an I.T professional, work in Nigeria and the pay is pretty o.k. at least o.k enough to go on vacation to the U.K every year. Years of experience and industry matters alot. Also Nigeria is still very fertile thats why alot of folks want to come back. If i got a job in the U.K right now, am not sure i would not take it unless it is extremely good, also most folks that want to come back dont want to come back to get jobs, they want to come back to start their own buisness, if its I.T related my advice is if you are a professional and you have some form of services to give any of this industries springing up then hurry back home. If not then you would have to get a job as a specialist. Also run away from this service companies that engage in contract staffs, the likes of computer warehouse and the rest, you will only be exploited. lemme know what other info u need.

As usual we are missing the POINT. we as a people are plain LAZY!!! If you all take the pain to look at Nigeria objectively, you will notice that no single unit adequately cater for itself.

The North + Middle Belt
Agreed it is arid, no sign of activity, the industries are comatose, but it is the only region that has the CAPACITY to feed the nation if properly hearnesed.

Western Nigeria
Plenty of activity, especialy economic. Major advantages, the nation's gateway to the world, large pool of human resources etc,. All the colanut produced in the region must go NORTH for it to translate to money. All the products produced in the industries, need a ready market, East Nigeria, North, South-South are ready markets.

East Nigeria
Enterprising people, ability to see oppurtunity where others see challenges. Need to move out because their is just not enough unit space available for all to leave comfortably, beside, the need to stay close to the market is paramount to survival. My NYSC commandant gave me a rule of thumb in surviving in any part of Nigeria: were ever you find yourself, if withing 4 weeks you don't get to see an Igbo guy, please move on,  that place aint wont staying.

South-South
plenty of OIL. THE question is, If OIL caused Nigeria so much pain, what guaranty do they have that it will solved their problem. Be carefull what you wish for, for you might get it,  Dreams do come true!!.

Collectively as a Nation, we need to change our way of thinking!!!

You know just because staffs were changed to animals in those days does not mean that it still happens like that today.
