TV/MoviesRe: Funke Akindele Is Africa's Best Actress: What Do You All Think? by shawn123: 12:06pm On Apr 21, 2009
Nigerians, we are never happy for oursleves. All we do is critisize and funny most of this critics have never dont anything noticable or even worthwhile. am not a fan of nigerian movies but i must admit, jenifa made me laugh all through and funny it made some sense when it comes to the girls in our universities. Find it hard that some pple cant see some reason to this movie. Its just the reality of school life using comedy , come to think of it most of these lagos and Ibadan gurls say yels when they mean yes , grin

ikeyman00:
60% northern leaders

30% yoruba leaders

10%  igbo leaders

gbam gbam!!
People that quote stuffs like this are actually responsible for the way nigeria is, am not a northerner but i do know that , extreme tribalism like this is part of the reasons why we are and might remain like this, take a look at this statement, it doesnt even sound like my grand father's kind of talk, people keep talking about leaders, are these leaders not people like me and you. We Nigerians are the cause of our issues!

Okay, why in the world would a beautiful, smart, tall girl date a short fat guy, huh. PITY = CASH
Why would a career minded girl date a no futhure ambitionist, huh. PITY = AGE NOT ON HER SIDE AND FAMILY PRESSURE TO GET MARRIED
Why would any girl at all decide to be f**king a dude who is so lousy in bed and whose sex styles she's so bored with eh. PITY = CASH
why would a girl demand from a man cos he just have to pay for services rendered that were not appreciated. = GREED

CareerRe: Lagos Is Worst Place To Work! by shawn123: 12:48pm On Mar 17, 2009
idoko is the only person that has said to truth on this forum, lets not be sentimental and speak the truth. lagos is chaos, its not a place to live and work. People are being treated like animals, ladies, mothers, brothers, grand fathers all jump off moving buses, the aggression is crazy. Abuja is a sane place to live and work. We only solve issues if we accept that we have issues, lagos has issues and it is soooooooooooooo visible. some people wake up 4:00 am to go to work. The people i pitty the most are the primary school kids i see in vehicles that early in morning. ONly a miracle can save Lagos, why lie about it when we clearly see it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Idoko well done for your post!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Music/RadioRe: Why Do Igbo Artistes Sing In Yoruba? by shawn123: 9:56am On Mar 03, 2009
honestly yoruba language is got more flavor when it comes to music, also they have been in the fore front of the musical revolution, its obvious that we see alot of people sing yoruba songs that they dont even know the meaning of, if we would be honest with our selves even from our child hood days who amongst us did not dance to Shina Peters, and how many of us really knew what he was talking abouthuhhuh
The language is just got some musical thing about it, just like black Ameriacan english and rap,

FamilyRe: As Nigerians: Pregnant Daughter Or Gay Son? by shawn123: 8:39am On Jan 27, 2009
i just realised that life is fill with greed and selfishness, solely on that. You know armed robbers justify their reasons for being robbers, rapists, serial killers all justify their reasons for being what they are. Gays would also justify their reasons to even though deep inside they know its wrong, its probably just an uncontrollable feeling for them, arghhhh. i think i would rather have 4 pregnant daughters at the same time than one gay child!
RomanceRe: Nigerian Men: Respect by shawn123: 8:20am On Jan 20, 2009
i think men would not demand soo much respect if you women decide to pay your own bills rather than ask men to do for you. For me i give respect solely on what you are able to do for your self. undecided
FamilyRe: As Nigerians: Pregnant Daughter Or Gay Son? by shawn123: 8:06am On Jan 20, 2009
a pregnant daughter is normal, mistakes do happen. she would change most likely. A gay son is like not having a son cos i would kill him myself. So i would rather a pregnant dughter any day"!!!!!!!!
Foreign AffairsRe: An Iraqi Throws A Shoe At President Bush by shawn123: 12:09pm On Dec 18, 2008
@David
you need to stop being a sadist with these your comments. If Iraqis are hypocrites for not throwing shoes at Sadam while he was alive then we Nigerians are all hypocrites to for not stoning Abacha while he ruled us,
ComputersRe: Dysfunctional USB Ports by shawn123: 9:09am On Dec 10, 2008
@Poster
Your problem might not be hardware, it could simply be a virus messing with your usb port drivever, trus me on this there can be many virus issues with flash drives or any form of external driver ( e.g autorun.inf). Very good origianal antivirus such as mcafee 8.5 or kerspesky might do the trick, make sure its an authentic one, this you can get off the sheves in stores now, run a live update and do a full system scan. But i would suggest you back up your system, format and restore your files,

delegiwa or whatever they call you, what has an Igbo man got to do with this?
You folks have started your tribalism again?
Stick to the topic and leave Igbos alone
If this medicine had been made at Aba or Onitsha, the responses would have been a whole lot different knowing some of you and how you all reason
LOL, true that is a tribalistic statement, though in Naija when ever adultration of fake product is mentioned what first comes to mind is Igbo made. Its a bad reputation, though that is changing now, i know a lot of Ibos that wouldn't support something like that.

True talk, but if you have been through the poverty lane, then you would know that its better for some house girl and her boyfriend to enjoy the fruits of your labour than no one.

Black people and their self-destructing ways.
Even amongst one 'tribe' u segregate yourselves, well done!
Its soo sad but this is the story with Nairaland, never sensed soo much hate within tribes in my life until i came to a forum which comprised of the whole of Naija. I wonder if its my generation on this forum though cos sometimes i feel totally out of place. I used to think tribalism died with our parents and their parents but its in us to.
We are quick to judge people based on their religion, tribe and not by action. Too much hate, jealousy and envy in our (black) society.
Imagine an educated Nigerian saying its becasue they are abokishuh? well i geuss exposure means alot.

PoliticsRe: Merrill Lynch Ranks Nigeria World’s Safest Economy by shawn123: 12:00pm On Nov 24, 2008
hey guys, lets actually look at the scenario before blasting Naija's economy. From what i understand Naija's economy is not credit based. the credit circle is still young and banks hardly give credit. we do not still have a working credit card system. So they might be right, it (our economy) is probably safe,

nice job you are doing. On behalf of Nairalanders i would like to say a very big thank you. This page is reminds me of the old nairaland where vacancies were just posted rather than providing an annoying link that leads to some blog sites. Thanks once again.
