Most political thugs and lower party faithfuls in Lagos earn more than Civil Servants. It is among a few cities in the world where one man determines how a state is governed. You only find such in south America cities once oppressed by Pablo Escoba, El Chapo, or currently by Drug cartels.

It's very very poor... I know a friend who earns 40k working with one of the ministries in Lagos. How is he going to afford the expensive rent in Lagos State?
