PoliticsSon Of Former Nigerian Presyakubu Gowon Released Frm U.S Prison After 22 Years by Shegman22(op): 6:27am On Nov 05, 2015
Gowon Jack Musa, a k a Jack Spencer, was arrested on November 18, 1992, for conspiring to import in excess of 1kg of heroin into the USA. Detectives found, in his room, a Swiss Air Global Hotel Guide on which Musa had written a reference to “The Heroin Connection.”.
They also found a television documentary on the recruitment of individuals in the Dallas area to smuggle heroin into the U.S. He had also written a phone number for Donald Iwegbu, an alleged co-conspirator who had admitted that the goal of the operation was to smuggle heroin into the U.S.
He was found guilty by a jury and was sentenced to 27 years in prison followed by 5 years of supervised release, but thanks to the new prison reform in the USA, he was among those granted pardon and released earlier this week. Although, his father disowned him after being arrested, Musa, now 47, is said to be the product of the romance between Edith Ike Okongwu, who died while Musa
was in prison, and former Nigerian president, Gen. Yakubu Gowon.
Edith allegedly lived with Gowon during the war till she was kicked her out of the house. She relocated to the U.S and later came to “kidnap” Musa and took him to U.S. The move backfired as Musa became rebellious as he didn’t approve of his mothers single and flamboyant lifestyle. He was left for dead as his father had also cut him off. This was said to have prompted him go into pushing drugs and he became a high ranking member his drug cartel. He briefly reconciled with his father after he became rich but was disowned again after being arrested.

During his trial, he was said to have refused to sellout on his cartel member just to get a softer sentence. As we speak, he is currently in the U.S Immigration detention where he is undergoing the process of being deported back to Nigeria

Have u noticed something funny about the picture?

PoliticsSupreme Court Strikes Out Agabje’s Appeal Against Ambode by Shegman22(op): 10:22am On Oct 21, 2015
•Says Agbaje cannot appeal without his party The Supreme Court yesterday struck out the appeal filed by Jimi Agbaje, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) candidate in Lagos. Agabje appealed the decision of the Court of Appeal, Lagos, which upheld the decision of the governorship election petition tribunal and dismissed the appeal he filed with his party. The tribunal had, in its judgment on June 20, dismissed the petition jointly filed by Agabje and his party challenging the victory of the candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Akinwunmi Ambode, on the grounds that it was incompetent. Yesterday, the seven-man panel, led by Justice Tanko Mohammad, in a unanimous decision, struck out Agabje’s appeal for being incompetent. In the judgment read by Justice Clara Ogunbiyi, the Supreme Court upheld the preliminary objection filed by Ambode against the appeal initiated solely by Agbaje. The court upheld Ambode’s contention that Agbaje’s appeal was incompetent and merely academic because the party (PDP) that sponsored Agbaje as its candidate accepted the decision of the Appeal Court on the issue and refused to join Agbaje to appeal to the Supreme Court. Justice Ogunbiyi: “For all intents and purposes, the communal deduction of the foregoing is a situation where a sponsoring political party has accepted the dismissal of its challenge to an election as binding on it. “Also inclusive in the said decision is the party’s candidate (appellant in this appeal). It is significant to restate further that the judgment given in CA/L/ EP/GOV/762A/2015 has not been appealed,” the judge said. Justice Ogunbiyi said a political party was more important than the candidate in an election. The judge said the appellant and his lawyer, Richard Ahonaruogho, failed to “dislodge the preliminary objection raised by the second respondent (Ambode) and which same I uphold and sustain”. “Consequently, the appeal herein is struck out for incompetence. The judgment of the lower court which upheld that of the trial tribunal and striking out the petitions is also affirmed by me,” Justice Ogunbiyi said. Listed as respondents were the Independent National Electoral Commission, the APC and the Resident Electoral Commission. Ambode described the judgment as a welcome development, saying the people’s mandate which was expressly demonstrated on Election Day had been reaffirmed. In a statement by his Chief Press Secretary, Habib Aruna, the governor said: “The decision of the Supreme Court has put all issues on election matters to rest once and for all. “Our government is thus poised without further delay to provide the needed leadership to justify the confidence reposed in us, especially with the ruling coming in the wake of the swearing-in of members of the state executive council.”

Attention : Going by The Nation Newspaper Caption on Ladoja Vs Ajimobi Appeal Court Ruling, The Newspaper is Nothing but a Junk tabloid of Liars!!!
Our attention was this morning drawn to a caption on the newspaper whereby it was alleged that Gov Ajimobi was yesterday declared winner by the Appeal Court judges, such never happened but a figments imagination of APC lien machine and theirrumour Mill. What transpired was that the tribunal had on August 18 struck out his application seeking the court’s leave to call in a forensic analyst to tender the report made on the inspection of ballot papers and ballot boxes . Ladoja had filed a petition challenging the declaration of Governor Abiola Ajimobi of the All Progressives Congress (APC) as the winner of the April 11 governorship election. But in the ruling, the court headed byJustice M. Saulawa dismissed the case and upheld the ruling of the tribunal.APC equally suffer a defeat yesterday when their motion tabled to render Ladoja's petition incompetent over signature was thrown out whereas the newspaper refused to mention the aspect unfavourable to Gov Ajimobi which shows that it is an unreliable media house. No one is surprised with the fake report since it was owned by Sen Bola Tinubu who also doubles as the National leader of APC.As far as I, Engr Akeem Olatunji is concerned, Win or something else, I remain committed to Accord and Ladoja. Finally, the law enforcement agents needs to caution and sanction the APC unruly supporters that attacked Accord supporters after the ruling, politics should not be a do or die affairs after all it is within Accord's constitutional right to challenge an election deemed improper.Let no man or party play God the game is not over until it is over.God bless all!!!

PoliticsTribunal Ruling: I Remain Ogun-east Senator, Says Kashamu. by Shegman22(op): 7:39am On Oct 13, 2015
The senator representing Ogun East Senatorial District in the red chamber of the National Assembly, Senator Buruju Kashamu has debunked online media reports that his mandate had been annulled by the Ogun State election tribunal and sacked from the parliament.
Kashamu, who spoke to journalists Friday, said the election tribunal did not nullify his election, but only cancelled the results of the election in some polling units in the district.
He expressed appreciation to God and the people of his senatorial district for their support, and urged his constituents to sustain their support as he remained confident that he would triumph at the end of the day.
According to him, the tribunal cancelled the result of the election in 110 polling booths out of the over 1,135 polling units in the senatorial district.
“With that, I am still leading with 5,179 votes. I am left with 75,856 votes while Dapo Abiodun has 70,677 votes. How does that amount to the nullification of my election? What the tribunal said is that there would be a rerun in those polling units. Until the rerun is done, I remain the Senator representing Ogun East,” Kashamu said.
Kashamu, who described the tribunal judgment as a miscarriage of justice, vowed to seek redress at the Appeal Court and ensure that he was declared the outright winner.
He cited the case of Mimiko vs. Agagu as well as Aregbesola and Oyinlola where Agagu and Aregbesola faced similar contests at the tribunal but were declared winners at the end of the day.
“After the deduction of invalid votes, Agagu was declared the winner. The same thing happened in the case between Aregbesola and Oyinlola.
After the deduction of the invalid votes, Aregbesola was declared the winner. So, why did that not happen in this case? It is sheer daylight robbery and we shall slug it out in the Appeal Court. Let me say, however, that even if we have the rerun 20 times I will defeat my opponent because I am the choice of the people,” he boasted.

PoliticsTribunal Didn't Sack Kashamu by Shegman22(op): 8:33am On Oct 10, 2015
Our attention has been draw to some media reports that the Senator representing Ogun East Senatorial District, Prince Buruji Kashamu, was today sacked by the Election Petitions Tribunal sitting in Abeokuta, the Ogun State capital.
We wish to say that this is not a true reflection of what transpired at the tribunal.
Although the tribunal has said the full judgment will be made available on Monday, it could not be said to have sacked Kashamu because, according to it, after the removal of voided votes, Kashamu is still leading with 5,179 votes.
According to the tribunal's findings, Kashamu has 75,856 votes against Dapo Abiodun's 70,677 votes. So how can the person leading be said to have been "sacked"? For who? The losing candidate? We think not.
Besides, the rerun was ordered in 110 out of over 1,135 polling units in the senatorial district.
Certainly, we are going to test veracity of the tribunal's verdict at the Court of Appeal. The tribunal has given its judgment, but it is not the end of the road. That is the beauty of the judicial process.
