Owlette: Hi shegzee43 I and my spouse who is the PA have been on this journey since late 2016. We started with WES which took us up to a year before we got the evaluation. When the evaluation came out sef, it had d wrong date of birth Now this IELTS. LOL the thing has humbled us. We sef dey fear to register again but the hustle must continue. U see this PPR, WE MUST GET IT. 1st attempt: BC: LRWS- 8, 6.5, 8, 7.5 2nd attempt: BC: LRWS- 8, 6.5, 7, 7 3rd attempt: BC: LWRS- 7, 7, 7.5, 7 (at this point I was cajoling him to write because he was worried about being disappointed) 4th attempt: MOD: LWRS- 7.5, 7.5, 7, 7 omo we applied for remark oh! Hanging on to the slight hope that listening might just change but speaking changed to 7.5 so we got our 46,126 back, lol. 5th attempt: MOD: LWRS- 9, 6.5, 7.5, 7 we applied for another remark praying with all we had that writing will change. Omo when we went to pick up the trf, they said we didnt have any draft. Na him be say score no change. We opened it and my husband saw that the score didnt change and they aff chop his 46k omo he left the trf there for them He refused to write again o. LOL. He said till January. But his birthday is in January we will be losing 5 points. When he saw CRS 449 yesterday, he told me to book him for December 1st. So the essence of this epistle is to tell you to focus on the goal. Bro or sis, abeg eye on the prize. Dont be discouraged. This vision is for a future time. It describes the end, and it will be fulfilled. If it seems slow in coming, wait patiently, for it will surely take place. It will not be delayed. (Habbakuk 2:3) Madam, thank you. You don't know how encouraging your words are. |

lobell: It's not phobia. It is distraction. In my opinion, you have an over-active imagination and as the gist progresses, you immerse yourself in the discussion, visualizing it, instead of being a third party listening to them and picking your answers. It is a form of attention deficit disorder.
You do not have a problem when you do the tests at home in sections with breaks in between. But when it comes to the real test, by section 3, your brain starts doing its own thing instead of concentrating on the discussion at hand. By the time you bring yourself round you've missed a question or two and then it happens again and again until you've missed quite a lot.
Your solution is still in your practice sessions. Make it a point of duty to answer all four sections in one sitting and program yourself to remind yourself not to stray when you get to the section where you start loosing focus. In fact, remind yourself to concentrate seriously in each subsection ie. at the beginning and the middle of section 1, at the beginning and middle of section 2, at the beginning (cut serious warning to yourself here) and middle of section 3 and finally, at the beginning of section 4 tell yourself you need to double your concentration for the long haul as there is no middle here.
When it starts working, attempt two practice tests in a row ie. back to back without a break between them.
I strongly believe this strategy will work for you.
Cheers. Thanks so much. You're absolutely spot on! |

[quote author=Temas post=73001452]I can feel your pains. What section(s) of the listening module do you have problems with during the real test? kindly share and the house might give some pointers
Thank you so much. I don't think there's any section I'm not very adept with. The problem is how I get confused and start fidgeting as the test progresses. It's a phobia issue |

Eraytee: my bro/sis, I can relate your frustration about this, we are both in same shoes, have written 3 times now with L-7.5 in all attempts (the only issue in all attempts) . i didnt bother posting my last result cox its just same as others. have not crossed this hurdle but believe me, we'll both cross it.. feed your faith in the next attempt and completely starve your fears... have decided not to post my result anymore because am coming soon to declare the glory of God over IELTS. hang in there, it will surely end in praise Amen. God bless you. Your words are soothing. |

Hey guys,
I write this in a very sombre mood. I just received my result for my fifth ielts attempt.
L-7 R-9 W-7 S-7
It's been an excruciating experience, because just listening has been the issue. In all attempts it's been 7.5 trice and 7 twice in listening and I haven't had any issue with other modules.
I do so well while practising ahead of exam but it turns out a ghastly situation and what's more, a serious case of phobia on the test day proper.
I know few guys may have had similar experience in the past. Please, I need your counsel. |

cocococo: Must everybody go to Canada? The craze is becoming too much. Canada, Canada, Canada! Some people will be writing IELTS up to 10 times all in the name of I must leave this country! The ones that manage to pass will run here and be saying, ‘Thank God I finally made it!’. While those that finally get the PPR will not let us hear word, be quoting different dates of the stages, like I care! You guys are the ones making these developed countries look down on us! IELTS is making the standard of exam more difficult day be day, WES is adding WAEC for ECA, IRCC is increasing minimum POF and cost of application fee! But we are still patronizing them, pumping the money into their economy! By the time you reach there with all the funds you are taking into Canada, you have pumped so much money into a foreign country, money that you cannot generate and send back into your own country Nigeria from where the funds came out from, thus depleting our country of resources. Hello everyone, Is it a compulsory requirement to have some pay slips as part of post ITA papers?
I have every other documents ready, but there are few errors on my pay slips, which I'm very sure personnel unit wouldn't want to correct.
I'm thinking of going ahead with just the reference letter, employment and confirmation letter. Would these be fine? |

fmsimple: There are a total of about 261 working days in a year. A full-time working day is 8 hours. Typical 40h/week = 2080h/yr (or CIC 30h/week = 1560h/yr). And as applicable to certain professions (e.g. nurses or doctors on night shift), your working hr is not really 84h per week but approx 50h per week (252h per 5 weeks) as you can't discount your work free days off your calculations. I suppose you're good with an explanation.
Thanks bro for your time. In essence, I shouldn't state I work 84/week? |

Hello guys,
I have an issue with how to calculate my weekly work duration on the reference letter. I work on a 21/14 rotation, I.e twelve hours daily for twenty-one days, before proceeding on a fourteen days time off.
I want to know if should state all of these details on my reference letter, and won't it be outrageous if I state that I work 84 days in a week period? |

Dasuki never knew that one day Buhari will pay him back in a brutal way You see, it won't end with today's Buhari and Dasuki. It will become a generational conflagration. That's why only wise men forgive. |

tuniski: You are the problem! Is Nigeria most diverse or larger than USA, yet USA is a model in development? Or the almost monolithic Syria in peace? Here in Africa, South Africa is very diverse and the leader in Africa! Chief, I wonder how some of you reason. It's never about Political parties in any of the developed countries. When have you heard that a political party constructed a road or built any infrastructure? All our Politicians are guilty of the same offence, Saint Buhari inclusive. They have made us their spectators because they understand how to cajole us into cheering them, even when they are under-performing. Nigeria will change the day our eyes would open |

Blackbuddy: The date of marriage on your marriage certificate has no bearing on your application, no negative effect in this your stated situation. Use your traditional marriage certificate to show when you first became a couple and your registry marriage certificate to show when you went to court. Even unmarried couples with children get granted PR, common law unions are equally recognised. Don't forget Canada recognises unmarried couples here as valid families. The province of Newfoundland just granted legal parents status to 3 people who have a child together in their polyamorous 'family' here. All the best with your application Thanks bro. You don't get a certificate after traditional solemnization in Nigeria. I am therefore left with the option of attaching an LEO alongside my marriage certificate while filling my documents. Thanks again bro |

salford1: If you can, please get the certificate. Even If you don't use it for your PR application, it might come handy to easily access some services when you land in Canada. This common law partners might not be as easy as it looks. Thanks. Plans are already underway to get it. I really appreciate your advice |

vickyehi: You guys meet the criteria for a common law partner. You can choose to legally get married and explain this in your letter of explanation. I don't think it's a big deal that the kids are before the date of the intended court wedding. It happens! Just explain and attach proof
Best of luck Thanks bro. |

But, I am letting the experts in the forum handle your question. I am sure some people have been through this before. I thought as much. Please, more expert opinion. |
