Well, as for Shia, i don't have anything much to say about them, rather i'l say they are among the sects prevalent in Islam today.
My actual contribution is to the question asked by sister yasmeena above that: Can't we all be Muslims?
Let me state here that this's the question on the lips of many muslims today.
But, going down the memory lane, history of Islam, and how it has evolved, you will know that it never started now(though that of this age is so much).
You'l also know that many of them had reasons(though not enough) for evolving.
Let's start from the time Of Abubakar(R.A) When Musailimatul Kadhaab and his people were claiming that he's the next prophet after Muhammad (S.A.W). That was some few years after prophet's death, As we all know, this's a false claim as Prophet Muhammad is the last of all prophets, but this sect, rather were spreading falsehood, so the muslims under the caliphate of Abubakar had to resist it.
What led to the formation of Shia, is the belief of some people that Ali is supposed to be the khaleefa after the death of prophet muhammad. They had this grudge for a long period of time and up till date.
Infact these and many more examples are there for all to see, but the fact is that SECTARIANISM is not new to ISLAM,
Prophet Muhammad S.A.W told us all about it, but he didn't fail to point to us that as the Ummah evolves, many ideologies will come, people are coming from different religions, infact they will try to blend everything into ISLAM.
Prophet gave muslims the way out, he described this SECTARIANISM as a FITNAH, And then ultimately advised all to follow his SUNNAH(PATH), And the SUNNAH(PATH) of his right guided caliphs.
This's the prophetic advice for all muslims in the face of all these trials and tribulations, but some MUSLIMS fail to follow THIS.

Ogbeche77: This cleric is quite intelligent,though I'm not a muslim but googled his name and just downloaded some of his recordings.. I'm beginning to change my mindset about islam, the cleric himself acknowledged that lots of bad eggs are giving muslims bad name all round the world. Thus,innocent muslims are being victimized.
But I still believe all these renounced & respected clerics have a large role to play in eradicating 'radicalization of muslims'

ShehuAba: If there's anything i Like about UNILORIN, It's about its visionary leadership and the ability to change for the better.
In the past, students usually queue for a long period of time at the University's microfinance bank to pay for acceptance fee, registration fee, clearance etc. But nowadays with a click of a button, in the comfort of your room, you can do all of these without much stress. Don't forget some schools still use the anachronistic way of payment, registration etc.
Just last year, when i did my post utme, the result was released, and i had to browse the internet, to check the result, but this Year, all those who did post utme received their results on their phones via sms, email. That's an improvement.
Also, all those admitted this year, were alerted about their admission via sms, in contrast to last year. That's really commendable.
It's no news that most freshers know who their L.A is, contacts etc even right there in Lagos, ph, kano, Enugu etc, without even getting to Ilorin, It was not the same last year because i got to Ilorin before knowing anything about my L.A.
There are still more examples to give, the fact still remains that, things are really changing pragmatically in UNILORIN.
Life is revolving, things are changing, but there's always a Price to pay for CHANGE, If not we'll just be rotating without any noticeable development.
I pray that this recent (PC TABLET)IPAD For freshers, which resulted in the hike in school fees, bring about its anticipated development for the school, as the University continues in its strides of been 'BETTER BY FAR'

My prayer will be incomplete, if i don't remember the parents and students who will definitely sacrifice for this Change.
I pray God Almighty, provide for us, parents, guardians, and make it easy for us to pay without experiencing much difficulties.

Well, it's easy to call anything SCAM these days because of the fraudulent acts of a few, who has now undermined the efforts of the rest.
But, it's not fair for you to call everything SCAM especially when you don't have enough proofs.
The organizers of this 'SAID SCHOLARSHIP' advertised it on AIT and explained its procedures, website etc. Do you think if it's a SCAM, they will have the guts to announce it on National TV. Mind you, they also said it's recognised by the Consumers Protection Agency.
First Bank is also collaborating with them, and it's not as if you'l just pay into any account, rather you'l go there and obtain a PIN.
Do you think with First Bank's Integrity, they will support a Scam Initiative.
Please, let's be fair when criticising, we should always be factual, and truthful.

That said, IMO the initiative is a 'Business Oriented' one, those guys really thought about this plan very well, and will at least make some cool cash while making people happy.

Sometimes, i read or listen to our Yoruba adages and just can't stop laughing.
To me, that doesn't matter(though women are expected to be better), but some Men are better in this aspect because of their background and environment.

Eeyah, it's really annoying to be in this situation. Infact, i experienced same or even worse last year, i was admitted with first batch and many who were admitted with 2nd batch got cleared before me.
Then, COMSIT was my lecture room. Always going there, with several re uploads etc. But alas, it became a thing of the past as i was succesfully cleared afterwards but it was still in COMSIT.
So, scholari if u aren't in Ilorin yet, i'l advice u better go now and also go to COMSIT and complain. I bet you it's always frustrating but a Stitch In Time Saves Nine.

All Progressives Congress, APC, weekend, raised fresh alarm over alleged plot by the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, and the Presidency to rig the 2015 general elections, especially the presidential poll.
The party called on Nigerians to be vigilant in the days, weeks and months ahead as the PDP/Presidency would allegedly begin to roll out its plot.
APC Interim National Publicity Secretary, Alhaji Lai Mohammed, in a statement, said the strategy that was being employed by the duo of the PDP and the Presidency, in their unbridled desperation to win the 2015 elections at all cost, include suppression of votes in areas where the president’s chances were slim, using the police and the military.
APC also said it uncovered plan of PDP to use what it tagged a “Third Force to bamboozle” Nigerians and project the image of a performing presidency, even when PDP admitted that the current public perception of government was less than salutary because of its weakness and lack of vision.
The Third Force, APC noted, would engage in the destabilisation of the party using moles and fifth columnists; instigate chaos in the South-West using what it called the ‘’old Afenifere Guards’’ as well as infiltrate and weaken socio-cultural and socio-political organisations in areas it deemed to be unfavourable to the President.
The party stated that, shockingly, PDP/Presidency’s grand plot also did not exclude even the PDP itself, as it was pursuing a strategy of decisively and ruthlessly purging the ranks of the party’s inner decision-making caucus all recalcitrant members, including governors and House of Representatives members.
‘’The dogged pursuit of this action of dealing with supposed recalcitrant members has led to suspensions, expulsions and alienation of some PDP members, and it was the immediate trigger of the collapse of the party of tattered umbrella.
“After all, it is said that a house divided against itself cannot stand. The North-East and the North-West have been singled out as areas where votes must be suppressed in 2015, by creating an enabling environment for the deployment of special forces in the run-up to the 2015 elections. They intend to launch police/military actions in the run-up to 2015, to ensure most of the registered voters in the zones are disenfranchised.
‘’The reason these two geo-political zones have been singled out for ‘vote suppression’ is because of what the PDP/Presidency called the ‘voting demographics’ in the zones in 2011. The North West had 18,900, 543 registered voters in 2011 while the North-East had 10,038,119. By contrast, the President’s ‘safe support base’ of South-South and South-East had 8,937,057 and 7,028,560 respectively, the total of which was less than that of the North-West alone!
‘’The PDP/Presidency therefore believes that unless the votes in these two zones are suppressed, and those of the South-West (14,298,356) stifled one way or the other, the chances of the President winning re-election are very poor. Needless to say that these three zones (NE, NW and SW) are considered to be hostile to the President, hence must be tamed,’’ APC said.
On the Third Force, APC said it involves railroading unsuspecting credible and independent-minded Nigerians with deep knowledge of, and extensive penetration of the media, civil society, labour, youth, women and ethnic nationalities into the plan, in which they will be given scripts written by the government and sent out to inundate the airwaves and the print media, posing as experts and public analysts to peddle lies and reel out statistics that have no bearing on the standard of living of the average Nigerian.
Most dangerous aspect of the plot, according to APC, is the determined attempt by the PDP/Presidency to constrict the democratic space by moving against the main opposition party which they regarded as a ‘real threat’ to the President if it (party) does not implode or forced to break up before 2015.

As regards the 2nd batch list, from what has been said so far, i think it's yet to be released.
Secondly, the school fees hike issue, though i think that it's bad if it's really true.
But, as most people have said before, i indulge all freshers to be calm and patient. Though you'l see your school fees b4 paying but u must have registered and confirmed b4 payment. So let's chill and see how things develop.

Actually don't know what deols is talking about me not having an iota of respect for the women folk! I ask how did i indicate that on my posts.
My posts are there for all to see, why don't you quote what i said about it and counter my claims rather than abusing me.
