Salam alaikum brothers and sisters, This's my 1st time of commenting on this thread though have been following:
Now, to d issue being discussed here, well its all about different perspectives for everyone as usual.
Looking at it from a broader perspective, its a norm that the Guy propose to the Lady nt the other way.
But from this Situation, It'l take an extremely kind,nice,mannered Guy to get a proposal 4rm a lady. If it so happens d 'GUY' in question has to show more respect to her even though he's nt interestd.
As For Me if i were a girl, Will i do that? NO
As a guy if a lady approaches me what'l b my reaction?
Well it's a 50% YES 4 me, d remaining 50% is to study her and pray to ALLAH.

I would have applied for the scholarship but we are currently on Long vacation and am already in Lag, so it's quite difficult for me to get my H.O.D'S and Registrar's recommendation.
But why should they behave like this?
This has just disqualified me.

Xup guys let me address some questions here as much as i could.
1. Does UNILORIN release cut off marks?
Ans: Yes UNILORIN has cut off marks but it's not officially known to the public.
2. What's the Cut-off of x,y,z departments?
Ans: The cut off mark for all departments vary but the general cut off is put at 50.
3. What determines a department's cut off?
Ans: The cut off mark for each department varies with different factors e.g:
competiteveness, performance of candidates, The course itself, Population of candidates applying.
4. What department has the highest cut off?
Ans: well, i can't categorically state that but as for Faculties i can tell u C.I.S,MEDICINE,LAW AND May be Engineering.
5. If i do not meet my department's cut off will i be admitted?
Ans: Sure you will be considered but might be offered another Course. E.G : You chose Computer Science and the cut off is 60 and u scored 55, u might be offered Mathematics, Statistics etc.
7. What guarantees my admission into UNILORIN If i perform well.
Ans: Hmmmm many factors but not restricted to .
1. GOD
2. Luck
3. Prayer
4. Indigene
5. Oga At The Top
8. When will the admission list be released?
Ans: It usually takes a while, so relax, chill and don't give urself hypertension.
N.B: I no be VC PICKIN, so things can change this year but at least this's a clue as to what you could expect.

The fact is that most of Us are really getting it wrong. Marriage as an institution in Islam can be consummated when both husband and wife are Physically, mentally, financially and otherwise fit for it.
It should be stated EMPHATICALLY that both of them must be OF AGE before this can happen.
The Question now is what makes a person To come OF AGE.
BEING OF AGE varies from one locality, race, tribe, generation e.t.c.
E.G: A 13 year Old in Nigeria may not be as matured as her counterpart in other countries and vice versa.
So even though a Man marries an 'UNDER AGE' he has to consider many things before having any affair with HER especially her HEALTH. It'l be UNISLAMIC for a Man of let say 30 years have an affair with a girl let say 13 years if she's seen not to have matured enough though they may be Legally Married.
BOTTOM LINE:
It's not a one sided affair but an all inclusive one and thus the girl MUST be aware and her Consent sought before any MARRIAGE. The Fear of most of us is that how can a Man of 50 have sex with a girl of 13, That's not what Islam Says and does not support it, so MARRIAGE IS NOT ALL ABOUT SEX.

As regards the issue of roads constructed for 1 billion, all i have to say is that value for roads vary for different reasons. Location is also a factor, As U can't compare prices of same type of Mansion built in Abuja and Lagos together because of some factors likewise there can't be a general price for roads depending on what would be found there. E.G: You can't compare a road with bridges and pedestrian bridges cum street lights with the one that has none of these.
BOTTOM LINE:
ODUMAKIN if u really want to show us they are corrupt as u claim bring out your proofs or else we go KNACK U AKPAKO

Olatund19: I chose unilorin as my second most prefered choice & haven't registered yet because i'll b sitting 4 my post utme(ABU) on 22nd & i read 4rm their portal(unilorin) dat d reg has been extended to 21st,pls it is after d 1st choice candidates are done with their exams b4 we'll do ours & hav they also extended d pre-screening test(probably byond 22nd)?Thanks ur replies will b highly appreciated.

Hmmm guy u've been on a long thing but thank God u opened up.
The portal has been opened for 2nd choice candidates since saturday.
But thankfully the registration has been extended till 19th of this month.
So guy pick up your phone nw or go to the nearest cafe and register as soon as possible so as to get scheduled 4 d Exam which won't be later than 20th.
N.B: THE DATE OF THE EXAM MIGHT NOT BE EXTENDED, SO DO NOT PANIC, YOUR EXAM IN UNILORIN WILL NOT COLLIDE WITH THAT AT ABU ZARIA.

Pls dnt mind whatever anything bad that any1 wil say abt dis phone or TECNO generaly.
Most people never believed TECNO could make it thus far bt they av proven Their critics wrong. I remember when my friend bought N3 nd most pple where making jest of im dat it's a China phone even those using s40 nokias.

1. If u have ur money nd luv the phone go get it.

ewet: Its only here you find this issue of discripancy in the appropriate ramadan commencement dates.

The arabs who are the progentors of islam have their own calender called the Hijri-arabic or hijra-english. This calender is diff from the gregorian calender which we have adopted here in naija.

The gregorian calender is the usual 12 months january to december which we are used to. The hijri on the other hand is based on the lunar trajectory which is similar to the chinese calender. The hijri is also a 12 month calender which commences with the month of muharram as the fist month and ends with Dhu al-hijja as the 12th month.
The hijri calender also consist of btw 354 to 355 days similar to the western gregorian calender. We are presenly in the 1434 AH according to the hijri and this year commenced on exactly the 14th of november 2012 and we are in the 9th month which is the month of fasting called Ramadan.

The month of rmadan is the 9th month of the hijri and the month set aside for the annual fasting in islam. There is no controversy whtsoever. If you shuld go to saudi-arabia today,every1 commences fasting today 9th of july 2012 which is the 1st day in the month of ramadan.

1. The Hijrah calendar is the same all over the world, though with a day or 2 slight qualifications due to differences in calculation, Likewise Muslims dnt depend entirely on the Calendar bt will do other wise if the MOON is sighted.
2. Officially RAMADAN has nt commenced Today in many countries including Saudi, Egypt,nigeria, nd other Islamic countries,
F.Y.I if u're a fan of ISLAM CHANNEL on DSTV,that actually updates, it changed 4rm d Initial 1 day to Ramadan Yesterday in d morning to 2 days to Ramadan in d evening when the MOON was nt sighted.
Bottom Line, RAMADAN FASTING starts Tomorrow, anybody doing so Today is On His Own.

I want all of us to agree that things has changed drastically in the last few years. Nw we Muslims are a little bit more organised as regards this issue, The N.S.C.I.A do issue statements stating the commencement and ending of Ramadan. One was carried out on d N.T.A by prof. Oloyede.
The South West League Of Imams under Sh. Ajisafe are also doing same and collaborating with other Islamic organisations.
The solution still remains that much publicity should be done especially to the Rural areas and people should be meant 2 undertand that Islam is nt all abt SELF DESIRE bt strict adherence to d Qur'an, Sunnah and always trying to be with the JAMA'AH.

Well, The Truth is that the N.S.C.I.A and other League of Imams are presently trying their best I.M.O. The fact still remains that the ethnic dichotomy is the cause of all these, The Yorubas dnt want to believe the Hausas on this issue and vice-versa.

@ all 2nd choice candidates pls adhere 2 d instruction that You should await procedure 4rm d school site, Don't be in a haste and then waste ur Money, Energy and Time, And besides always check the school site regularly.
@those wishing to do change of course,PLS BE VERY VERY CAREFUL.
1. Make sure ur JAMB combination corresponds to that of the course u wish to change to. Check JAMB brochure 4 dat
2. Ur O level combination should correspond too.
If U don't do all these, u can be admited to the course u chose but might be moved later.

Well, it depends on the following:
1- Location
2- Period i.e How many days in the week wil they be tutored
3- If the tutorial wil hold in their various destinations which might cost you t.p fare.
I think if u provide some of these factors, some1 can offer u a good advice.

Wow Been offline since morning and just peeped in now to see that the Better By Far post utme is out.
Though UNILORIN has pulled some surprises
1- Inviting 1st Choice candidates only 4 nw, last yr wasn't lyk that, 1st nd 2nd choyc did it @d same tym.
2- Reducing the minimum cut off mark to 180 marks,last year wasn't so, 200 was d minimum.
So fellas, have always say it in my previous posts, In UNILORIN anything can happen.
So the ball is nw in ur court to do the following:
1- Register as soon as possible, wich can b done in the comfort of ur room, no nid 2 go to the bank, get a gud Atm card preferably GTBANK provyd d necesary details nd u're gud 2 go
2- Start preparation nw at least u stil av 2 wiks of grace,get some past questions xpecialy the grammatical aspects, read wide, curent afairs wil do u lots of gud, Maths dey there 2.
3- pray wella, try 2 hammer Post Jamb too, and to be frank with u there are many fraudsters out there, there are lots of stories abt them,
Pls Don't Trust anybody,

Hmmm Mass comm is highly competitive, I think 70+ will do u lots of good. Remember overall performance determines d cut-off though UNILORIN dnt release dat except that u must nt score below 50.

The Truth is that no one can actually tell you that now cos of the low level of performance in this year's Post UTME but to be sincere with u considering previous years and d fact that most federal universities have refused to go below 200,UNILORIN myt nt do otherwise.
Any how sha, i wish u d best and advise u nt to totaly depend on UNILORIN, try other alternatives e.g Poly, state UNIS e.t.c. May God help us all

The cut off mark for JAMB is yet to be determined by UNILORIN but its predictably 200 following previous years' trend.
