Alaanyihaji:Which area Mr man? Let him bet his three months salary and see how he will lose woefully. Oga, you better bet with him and chop that money before it's too late after all na national cake. No dull yourself ooo SAI BUHARI JOO |
dazdilijae:Listen, no one man has the power to decide the political calculation of the south west I.e How the election will be win and lost. Yes, there are political actors which this time around are in the APC. The south west people has decided, and that GEJ will be sent packing from Aso rock to Otuoke. No amount of lobby with the Obas can save him from this imminent but sure defeat. |
taharqa:Well you said, you heard which doesn't give credence of it been the truth. Let GEJ and his goons be reminded that politics is not about these monarchs, it goes beyond that, he has FAILED WOEFULLY as a President, most especially the south west. That's why, the people want him ousted. The major political actors in the south west and its people are clamouring for a Buhari presidency, which is actually what will come to pass come march 28th. |
lanicky: lanicky: lanicky:Almost all the Yorubas in my area, can actually mean that, Not everybody in your area are Yorubas. Well don't worry, just watch out and see how it pans out. |
lanicky:Where is your area? We are talking Yoruba politics here. Yes Tinwa Tinwa. |
Classic submission from the APC as usual, The past few days have witnessed an attempt by GEJ to curry favour from the Yoruba monarchs, crisscrossing the length and breath of south western states. Let this man be reminded that the South West is too sophisticated to be fooled or swayed, the OBAS know what they are dealing with and will thread cautiously. In 2011, GEJ was voted for massively over here, and he win all states except osun. Since then, he practically neglected the zone politically, which made most of its political leaders to lose faith in his leadership. Not just that, in terms of development, the south west hasn't gained much from this administration. And GEJ thinks he can win again? For the avoidance of doubt, Whenever the Yorubas decide, they do not renege. Come 2015, with someone of the caliber of Aregbesola as the zonal campaign coordinator of the zone, the south west is indeed a done and dusted one for the APC. 2015 Buhari Lo Sure Ju |
The All Progressives Congress ( APC) in Southwest on Monday confronted President Goodluck Jonathan with stark analysis of his last minutes move to court Yoruba monarchs ahead of the election , saying it will not secure him victory in the March 28 presidential election . In a statement issued by the Director of Media and Publicity in the zone , Mr. Ayo Afolabi , the party explained why Jonathan will lose in Southwest . According to the APC, Yoruba voted massively for him n 2011 based on their conviction that he was a better candidate but that they have been disappointed by his poor performance in governance . The statement reads : “The latest move by President Goodluck Jonathan to court Southwest monarchs ahead of 2015 general election has no redemptive electoral value in Southwest because it is devoid of strategic assessment . “ The strategic question the President and his campaign managers should have tried to answer before engaging on the rash moves is: how many of such desperate and impromptu meetings were needed before Yoruba people voted for him in 2011 ? How much did President Jonathan spend to get Yoruba votes in 2011 and why should he think money will save him now ? “ All other regions extracted several promises from President Jonathan in the race to 2011 elections except the Southwest , which voted based on their firm convictions and commitment to justice and good governance . “ However , despite getting Yoruba votes effortlessly , what did the region get in return ? In the last five years , Jonathan ’ s administration has shown unbearable contempt for the region and its people and their values, especially in the attempt to adulterate their leadership values. “ For instance , many top Yoruba people in the civil service have been the victim of Jonathan administration ’ s nepotism . Under no compulsion , no Yoruba person will be proud of those President Jonathan has imposed as leaders representing Yoruba people in different capacities whether as governor, minister , or party leaders . “ From all intent and purposes, governance has stopped in Ekiti State as the governor has been functioning more as a campaign manager with the resources of Ekiti people than as a governor. Ekiti people deserve better than they currently get. “ The Southwest APC is confident that Yoruba monarchs and voters are conscious of the implications of a Greek Gift and as the bastion of democratic justice and good governance , they will vote true to their cultural identity that loathes tyranny , corruption , and nepotism . In fact , activities in the Presidency in the last few weeks have confirmed that Jonathan did not realise the need for governance until it is evident that Nigerians have already embraced the opportunity of change offered by the APC . “ Nigerians deserve better than such a President and they will use their ballot to pass a vote of no confidence on the clueless and wasteful Jonathan administration on March 28 . ” http://thenationonlineng.net/new/apc-to-jonathan-courting-yoruba-monarchs-wont-save-you/ |
Chiaka:Do you think am foolish to swallow your crap and poo. Only uninformed people can take folks like you serious. Before he was sick, next he is not billed to speak at Chatham, now he never met tony Blair. Olukwu. |
Chiaka:Which arrangee is this one talking about? What will it profit you to be lying on Nairaland? The APC in the statement released first on Thursday, when Buhari travelled was that hopefully, he'll be listed as a speaker on Chatham. When Fayose, Claimed that It was all lies, the APC again through Garba Shehu insisted that, they have gotten a date from Them, but invites will be sent out on Monday, which is today. Now, where is the arrangee? After all said and done, you all can lie your heads in shame. |
noblezone:Mugu, what do you know than to peddle falsehood and say trash about. I thought you said, the APC was lying. Now, the story has changed to Tony Blair was lobbying. Liar, PDP goons always lying about. |
Thanks Rawani for this incitive response. The debate can begin from here |
This is an eye opening interview. Lessons that can be learnt from professional and to be bloggers are enormous. Nairaland webmasters, where are you guys? What do you have to say about this interview CC adewasco2k , Slyr0x |
The second edition of the Naija Inspirational Hub monthly interview series is here. Our guest for this month is Muhammed Abdullahi Tosin, who is the brain behind Naija Writers’ Coach. He is an award-winning essayist who has won for himself nothing less than 11 essay contests. He has many authored e-books to his name, such as Your Right to Write, Vertical Writing and many more. A social entrepreneur, who is the curator of online courses such as Pen Money Masterclass, and Affiliate Goldmine. In this interview with Naija Inspirational Hub, he told us about his growing up days, how he ventured into blogging. He also explained how a blog can be monetized especially in Nigeria, what he thinks of blogging in Nigeria compared to other places. And many more encouraging and inciting revelations. So sit down, relax and enjoy… Excerpts: N.I.H: Can we meet you sir? Abdullahi: I’m Muhammed Abdullahi Tosin. I’m a writer, difference maker and entrepreneur. I help creative entrepreneurs like writers, bloggers and artists live their dreams without going hungry. N.I.H: Can you briefly tell us about your growing up days. What was the experience like? Abdullahi: I was born in Kano State and remained there for about a decade. Growing up was fun. I still remember some awesome Hausa foods like talia, wanke, masa and fura that my elder siblings and their teachers would use to bribe me whenever I manufacture a reason to cry. It was equally challenging, due to the unsettled terrain of religious and ethnic crises that rocked Kano State and some other Northern states then. N.I.H: Can you lead us through your journey to the Nigerian blogosphere? Abdullahi: I started blogging in 2011 without understanding what blogging meant. I just wanted a place online I could post anything I wrote. The blog soon died. My current blog started in mid-2012 as my response to the challenge of repeatedly being asked for writing advice and contest updates. N.I.H: Blogging and studying. How are you able to combine the duo effectively? Abdullahi: Well, to confess, being able to juggle many important and demanding things is just utopia. Sometimes, one will suffer. What I’ve tried to do is to make sure no one aspect of my life or commitments taste a complete neglect at any particular time. I try to plan well, ignore distractions that come like opportunities and focus on my WHY. Remembering why I do the things I do keeps me going in tough times. N.I.H: Naija Writers’ Coach has been waxing stronger and stronger four years down the line. What is the secret behind this? Abdullahi: There’s no secret. I simply focus on creating value for people and making a difference. I summon the courage to create awesome contents, wear the generosity to share them and it’s been paying off. N.I.H: You are a Nigerian student cum entrepreneur. In your own view what is the greatest challenge facing student entrepreneurs in Nigeria? Abdullahi: I think that’s juggling both schooling and business together. N.I.H: You coach people to write, what has been the experience so far? Abdullahi: It’s been fulfilling and challenging. Fulfilling because, my little efforts do make impacts. And challenging because I have to update my own knowledge constantly and showing up always. N.I.H: There is a wide-spread notion, that a blog is a “money-bag”. How true is this assertion? Abdullahi: It’s a fact, provided the blogger knows how to properly monetize his blog. Sadly, 99% of bloggers don’t. N.I.H: You have won for yourself, nothing less than 11 essay contests. Can you lead us through your essay contests experience, and what other aspiring writers can learn from you? Abdullahi: I approach essay contests as an opportunity to practice my craft and write regularly. Winning has never been my sole goal. That way, when I lose, I don’t really lose but I learn. And when I win, I get motivated to do even more. Read the Full Interview here: http://naijainspirationalhub.com/how-i-started-blogging-muhammed-tosin-abdullahi/ |
Fayose must be called to order. No body has the monopoly of violence. |
The Ekiti State chapter of the All Progressives Congress, APC, has dispatched a petition to the International Criminal Court, the United States government, the National Human Rights Commission, and other foreign authorities, complaining about series of violence allegedly sponsored by the state government against its members in the build up to the general elections. The party specifically requested the Nigerian Human Rights Commission to investigate the role of the state governor, Ayo Fayose, in the violence, which it said includes the physical attack and intimidation of opposition personalities. The petition, dated February 16, was signed by the APC Secretary in the state, Omotosho Ayodele. Copies of the petition with accompanying photographs, newspapers clips and tape were sent to the European Commission, United States Embassy in Nigeria, British High Commission, French Embassy, the US Secretary of States and the International Criminal Court at The Hague. It was also sent to the Nigerian Bar Association, a former Secretary to the Commonwealth of Nations, Emeka Anyaoku,a former United Nations Secretary General, Kofi Annan, the Yoruba Council of Elders and Egbe Igbimo Ure Ekiti. Mr. Fayose of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, defeated the APC’s Kayode Fayemi in the now controversial June 21, 2014 governorship election in the state. He assumed office on October 16. In the petition presented to the NHRC on Friday, the APC invited the Commission to take note of and investigate the acts of Mr. Fayose and his supporters with a view to determining if they constitute conduct promoting election violence. Among the 22 acts of the governor listed by the opposition include the governor’s alleged outburst during one of his campaigns in Emure local government area where he reportedly said “We are in power! I am not one of those who have power and don’t know how to use it. PDP will not lose any seat in this state. It is going to be a do-or-die affair or a zero sum game”. It also said that on January 21, Mr. Fayose’s “thugs” and members of the Odua Peoples Congress, dressed in army and police uniforms, backed by police officers attached to the Government House, ransacked and vandalized APC secretariat on Ajilosun Street, Ado- Ekiti. It said Alaba Ojo and Adedokun Dare, the night guards on duty at the secretariat at the time of the incident, were physically assaulted and sustained varying degrees of injuries and that the thugs had earlier visited several parts of the state shooting and destroying the posters of opposition candidates. The APC also alleged that on January 24, one Adeleke Samson, a students’ union leader, who attended its presidential rally in Ado- Ekiti with his colleagues, was violently attacked by the governor’s thugs, during which he sustained life-threatening injuries on his head. The party also said on January 20, Ojo Agboola, Femi Babalola, Babalola, Bello Idowu and Tope Oguntoyinbo were physically assaulted by Mr. Fayose’s thugs at various locations in Ado-Ekiti for either wearing APC T-Shirts and pasting APC posters in their houses. It also alleged that on January 21, in Otun Ekiti, Moba Local Government Area, Olasehinde Atolani and Atolani Segun were physically assaulted for pasting of APC posters on the walls of their houses. The governor’s thug, the party further said, on January 23, 2015, disrupted its ward meetings in Iyin and Igede- Ekiti. It said the thugs had previously conducted a house to house raid and assault on APC members, adding “specifically, the thugs attempted the life of the APC senatorial candidate for Ekiti Central Senatorial District, Mr. Gbenga Olofin, who narrowly escaped.” The APC said on January 30, Mr. Fayose, in the bid to make good his earlier threat to collect the monetised Camry cars from members of the immediate past state executive council (Commissioners and Special Advisers), sent policemen, soldiers and thugs to ransack the residences of former Commissioners in the state. It listed those affected as Biodun, Akin-Fasae, Oluwole Ariyo, Ayodele Jinadu and Adebayo Orire, The party said the aim was to harass them out of circulation ahead of the general elections so that they would not be able to participate. The party further alleged that on January 30, 2015, Mr. Fayose’s thugs, unleashed terror on the people of Esure Ekiti, as his thugs shot sporadically in the air, vandalized homes and shops of APC members, including that of Caroline Egunlusi while on February 2, 2015, the governor also led thugs to destroy billboards and tear posters of opposition APC in Ikole Ekiti. The APC stated that 10 days later the PDP thugs disrupted the APC ward meetings in Igbemo Ekiti. According to the party, the thugs shot at the houses of APC Ekiti State Publicity Secretary, Taiwo Olatunbosun, and that of the House of Assembly member representing that constituency but seeking re- election, Ayodeji Odu while one Ajayi Temisoro was dealt machete cuts on the head and hand. The thugs subsequently abducted four persons, namely Jide Bello, Jimi Ogunade, Peter Akinsola (alias Pitoro) and Adedeji Ojo. “It is for these reasons that we urge the National Human Rights Commission to investigate these cases of pre-election violence in Ekiti State and publish its preliminary findings before the presidential elections on March 28, 2015,” the APC said. The party also called on the Commission “to declare Mr. Fayose as a person of interest in its investigation of election violence in Nigeria,” adding “We want to emphasise that these interim measures are necessary to prevent loss of lives and further destruction of property in Ekiti State.” It asked the NHRC to also investigate the conduct of security agencies in Ekiti State with a view to determining their professionalism, even- handedness and non- partisanship. “More worrisome is our finding that Police officers are actively involved in committing these acts of violence,” it said. “It is a matter of concern to us that despite reporting these incidents to the Police, few arrests and virtually no prosecution have been undertaken. The APC stated that it had expressed concern that several of the policemen who formed the nucleus of what was severally described as Fayose’s killer squad in Ekiti State between 2003 and 2006 when he was first elected the governor, are back in his employ. http://www.premiumtimesng.com/regional/ssouth-west/177252-ekiti-apc-petitions-human-rights-commission-icc-over-alleged-state-sponsored-violence.html |
lewis33:Don't mind those people jare. They think that Nigerians are fools to be swayed about unnecessarily. Now, that Koro says he's going to court and FFK has confirmed that sahara reporters was right after all. We'll see where they will go from there. |
rusher14:1000 gbosas you sir. You indeed spoke well with facts to substantiate that you listened to the audio. Only sycophants and PDP supporters will want us to believe that this was not a rigging plan. |
BeeBeeOoh: DDeliverer: BeeBeeOoh:Na you craze dey worry for head. If you don't have something better to say thatplease STFU.DDeliverer |
Bluepamex:How can the music stop? So, all those guys should go scot free. Even koro should be cleared as a minister. |
This is an issue the PDP is trying to sweep under the carpet. I was even surprised that media houses are not condemning this issue at all. I heard some political analysts say, because there was no where, you should go and rig was mentioned. The issue is just a mere propaganda. I ask: Why should the military who's meant to be impartial in the election hold a meeting with some people where they are been directed to make arrests, and you say it's not rigging? If not what's rigging? |
First of all, they said it was all hoax. Next, Governor Fayose of Ekiti state slammed the APC and claimed he was never aware of such a meeting. Some days later, Alhaji Jelili Adesinyan confirmed that it really occurred but it was not for rigging. Soon, Senator Obanikoro came out threatening to sue saharareporters and others for 1 billion naira for lying against him. Next, the President Jonathan came out openly in an interview and denounced it, he said the matter will never be investigated because it was a mere fabrication. Before we could say jack Roberson Fayose was out again, this time claiming that it really occurred but they were trying to prevent rigging. Hmm Obanikoro sensing that the chips are down and he may never be nominated as a minister confessed to senators that he was sent on a mission by the President. (Now they are talking..) The presidency, knowing that there is no more hiding place for them sent FFK to confirm that the tape is true after all, but twisting the story that it was never a rigging plot. (So, the President lied after all). After all, Sahara reporters et all have been vindicated. Yes, they rigged the ekiti election by conniving with the military. If not, why must Daramola be arrested? If not, why should the military general be told: " If by tomorrow am happy the sky is your limit ". If not, why should Obanikoro threaten the military general of not been promoted if his bidding is not done. If not rigging, why should the PDP be dilly dallying about? Now, that they have been exposed, Why can't the culprits be brought to book? Why is the military not speaking up? The Ekiti rigging tape is real and the culprits must be brought to book. |
Why can't some folks be reasonable for once. How are you aware that Buhari is sick? What are the evidences you have to substantiate this heinous and hateful claim. The campaign organisation had told you the reason for his trip to the UK. And you still have the guts to spew trash. This is 21st century and if he fails to go to those places as promised, believe me you the whole world will never keep quiet. Any way sha Sai Buhari |
I felt like not saying much on this issue but I feel barcanista should be told the bitter truth. People like barcanista are the reasons why Nigeria has remain retrogressive and our youths are been laughed at daily. When I see people like you pilot the affairs of this country or chant change or transformation agent I lose hope for this country. Yes politicians decamp and change their ideologies overnight, but the poser is: Are those our role models? People who lacked identity and think they can lead others successfully will surely fail in their quest for leadership. In politics, there's more than meet the eyes, there's more to politics than writing epistles on Nairaland and getting lots of likes daily. barcanista got a tip of the political iceberg and he failed woefully. Within a spate of hours, his once progressive friends are now his foes. The Tinubu, OBJ et all whom he eulogise for their political sagacity and ability to deliver for buhari are now the reasons why the APC shouldn't be supported. The change he vehemently clamors for on Nairaland has now turned to transformation. And he's changed from being a pro-buhari, to now support the clueless President whom he has always attacked. As barcanista asked some months ago, What manner of a President is Good luck Jonathan? I ask what manner of a person is barcanista? |
Barcanista do you really have a job? You bore is with this your Blackmail. I think this your Barcanista blackmail: Is a propaganda too many. Go look for job jare |
barcanista the new critic of APC. Wetin concern me. This thread makes absolutely no sense to me. |

Actually I wonder what this thread tend to achieve. The fact that those parties called for ING then means what? May be you should be reminded that ACN was not even in existent them, it was AC. And to even make matters worse for you, how could you compare 2007 with 2015. 8 years which is more than enough to change any political mindset. I ask thee again. Are you now calling for an ING. |
