3. You will be tested on different subjects e.g English, maths, current affairs, logical Questions e.t.c
4. The Post UTME is a computer Based Test (c.b.t)
5. The payment 4 post UTME and other fees is strictly online via interswitch and other mediums.
6. Anything below 50 in Unilorin post UTME just forget about it.
7. The more competitive your course the higher the cut-off mark.
8. To be qualified for Post UTME as at last year
i- You must score 200+ for all courses

10. Expect the procedure for The POST UTME SOONEST predictably Tomorrow or latest this week.
Wishing y'all the Best.

To be frank! The GEJ/AMAECHI saga is getting dirtier by the day and its as if the both of them are claiming to be right.
It will be better they stop this feud and allow peace to reign for the development of Rivers in particular and Nigeria in general.

Foreign AffairsState Bans Women From Wearing Mini Skirts by ShehuAba(op): 3:16pm On Dec 25, 2012
State Bans Women From Wearing Mini Skirts, Low Rise Jeans – Offenders Face 6Months In Jail

It is now a sin to wear miniskirts in Swaziland as police in Africa’s last absolute monarchy have banned women from wearing miniskirts and midriff-revealing tops saying they provoke r*pe, local media reported on Monday.
Offenders face a six-month jail term underthe ban, which invokes a colonial criminal act dating back to 1889.
“The act of the defiler is made easy, because it would be easy to removethe half-cloth worn by the women,” police spokeswoman Wendy Hleta was quoted as saying in the Independent Online news.
Not only miniskirts are affected by the ban, but the ban also applies to low-rise jeans.
“They will be arrested,” she said.
Hleta said women wearing revealing clothing were responsible for assaults or r*pes committed against them.
“I have read from the social networks that menand even other women have a tendency of ‘undressing people with their eyes’. That becomeseasier when the clothes are hugging or are more revealing,” Hleta said.
However, the ban does not apply to traditional costumes worn by youngwomen during ceremonies like the annual Reed Dance, where the ruling King Mswati III chooses a wife.
The flamboyant king already has 13 wives.
During the ceremony, beaded traditional skirts worn by young bare-breasted virgins only cover the front, leaving the back exposed. Underwear is not allowed.
The law was enforced after a march by women and young girls last month calling for protection against a spate of r*pes in the impoverished kingdom, almost entirely surrounded by South Africa.
According to the media report, the march was blocked by police who has now found what they believe is a solution to the incidence of r*pe in Southern African country

PoliticsRe: Aregbesola Launches 10,000 Capacity Cattle Ranch (O-BEEF) by ShehuAba(op): 6:29am On Oct 28, 2012
With the resulting strategic discussion with the ILRI, between December 11th and 16th, 2011, Aregbesola led a delegation of selected state government officials on a tour of the Zambian agricultural industry. Research revealed that Zambia has practised what could be achieved through agriculture as a means for creating jobs and wealth for the people.
The first, it was gathered, hinged on gaining a first hand understanding of the Zambian success story in agricultural development, as well as to begin the development of the beef sector in Osun. The programme hit the ground running and this result is the Oloba cattle ranch, which the governor revealed would not be the only one in the state as efforts are on to establishmore in viable locations in the state. Oloba Cattle Ranch is about 78.8 hectares in size.
Government also intends to promote the establishment of cattle and ram feedlots and as such, efforts are in progress to put the feedlot infrastructure in place to accommodate 1,500 cattle. At the maximum capacity, this ranch will accommodate up to 10,000 cattle being fattened at the same time.
Not only that, the Oloba Cattle Ranch would act as a breeding centre for a foreign breed of cattle known as the Boran, so as to develop a new breed of cattle that is indigenous to the South-West by cross-breeding the Zambian-Boran with local breeds such as the White Fulani and Sokoto Gudali.
The resulting cattle, it is expected, will have greater capacity to produce meat, making cattle fattening and beef production a very profitable endeavour for the state.

Aregbesola Launches 10,000-capacity Cattle Ranch (O’Beef), Berates Under-utilizati on of Resources

Governor Rauf Aregbesola at the weekend launched a cattle ranch where a new agro-based industryis emerging. The 78.8 hectares, 10,000-capacity cattle ranch is aimed at meeting the beef demand of the State of Osun as well as the entire South-West when fully operational. The Governor said the beef farm would boost self-reliance in food production as well as create economic bases and job opportunities for our people.
At the commissioning of the OsunBeef Production outfit (O’Beef) ranch located at Oloba Farm Settlement in Iwo, he said it was primarily targeted at boosting agriculture, meat and food production, food processing and mass agro-based employment. It is also part of a plan to assist livestock farmers to improve milk and meat production, saying, plans are afoot to establish similarbut lager ranches in Ede (400 hectares) and Ejigbo (1,000 hectares). Land has been acquiredfor this purpose and the location would have grazing reserves and cattle hub – including markets, feed mills. The grazing reserves will help us to tackle the recurringfeud between the Fulani pastoralists and the crop farmers usually caused as a result of cattle grazing on farms.
Meanwhile, Aregbesola has declared that the country would remain poor despite the huge income from crude oil as long as the leaders fail to properly utilise the income to generate employment.
Speaking at the Education Conference of the National Union of Textile, Garment and Tailoring Workers of Nigeria (NUTGTWN) held in Osogbo, he stated that it was an illusion to claim that the country is rich.
The governor said: “As a government we must be able to produce the food we eat. A government cannot be said to be good if it is incapable of feeding its own people. In Lagos alone, about 6,000 cattle are slaughtereddaily in the abattoirs, while the remaining five South-West States combined conservatively accountsfor another 6,000 based on their total population, no state in South-West produces a single one.All these animals come from the North. We intend to target just 10 per cent of the Lagos market. The governor described the potential of the beef market in the Southwest as huge, adding that it could not be waved aside by any visionary government.”
“This translates to a huge N4.4 billion per annum. This huge market demand for beef, the governor argued, carries the potential to empower the state and the entire Southwest people economically through wealth creation.”
For a start, the ranch, which is being managed by a South Africanexpert in conjunction with International Institute of Tropical Agriculture (IITA) and Faculty of Agriculture, Obafemi Awolowo University, has 1,500 cattle sourced locally. The farm is being run with the technical direction offoreign Technical Partners from Zambia and South Africa.
According to the Governor, 30 foreign species of cattle called the Zambian Boran, would be introduced to the ranch with a view to genetically crossbreeding them with local ones to get new indigenous species.
When fully in operation, the ranch, which will be run on public private partnership basis, will have modern abattoir that offers services to the people at a lower rate.
It is the objective of this administration in the State of Osun to create the enabling environment that will make this happen.
“We will be dedicating and developing hundreds of hectares of land into grazing reserves, cattle markets, breeding centres, and fattening hubs. This will be in addition to the new central abattoirs that we are developing in selected towns across the state,” Aregbesola said.
It is against this backdrop that thegovernment began a study of the process to come up with a programme that will be indigenous to the state and the region. In February 2011, this assignment took them to the International Livestock Research Institute (ILRI) in Ibadan, where they discussed about building partnerships to help the state develop a robust framework for implementing an innovative programme that focuses on Beef Chain Development in Osun. What came out of the interactions between the Osun team and the ILRI is the abattoir-linked enterprises that include fattening, breeding and marketing activities.
Hence, government decided that the strategic option for the state is to adopt the value chain approach to developing the beef sector in the state, with a preliminary target, excluding production for local consumption,of serving a minimum 10 per centof the Lagos 6,000 cattle per day market. This, it was gathered, would be achieved through a strategic initiative incorporating activities such as cattle genetics improvement, breeding, fattening, slaughter and beef marketing.

EducationIs Master's Degree Meant For Everybody? by ShehuAba(op): 10:57am On Oct 25, 2012
I just had a heated debate with some of my colleagues about obtaining a master's after your b.sc. I told them categorically that m.sc is not meant for everyone except for those who want to venture and go into research. They agreed with me but said that in Nigeria today, for a person to have more advantage while seeking for job, a master's degree is a Necessity. I argued further that Master's degree doesn't guarantee sucess, that whenever a person is through with his or her B.sc or B.A You should get something doing, may be build your career and gain more experience before getting your masters instead of Going for it immediately after your graduation. What's your take on this fellow Nairalanders.

EducationNigerian Law School Records Poorest Performance Ever by ShehuAba(op): 1:36pm On Oct 11, 2012
The Nigerian law school released its August 4th-10th 2012 examination result on the 20th of September, 2012. This result was slated for release on the 24th of September, 2012, being 4 days earlier before the official announced date.
The result has been rated as one of the poorest in the history of the Nigerian Law school, having over 6,000 registered students, and 1625 passed the bar part 2 examination. This result has given rise to an industry of complaints and agitations, on how the Nigerian Law school result is being marked, graded and computed.
The agitation is premised on the fact that the Nigerian Law school has a standing rule, which was introduced, 5 months into the administration of the current Director General of the institution, Dr Tahir Mamman, which forecloses any form of redress a student may want to seek, whenever dissatisfied by the result of the examination of the institution.
Reports have it that during the administration of the erstwhile DG ,Dr Kole Abayomi, an aggrieved student complained and the results were reviewed. This student eventually scored a2’1 (second class upper) as his grade, paving way to over 140 students, whose results were also reviewed.
This policy of review came to anabrupt end, when the current DG assumed office. Within 5 months, he assumed office, he put and end to this policy, which also gave rise to corruption within the circle of the institution where manipulations and error happens from time to time, without any form of redress by the students. Information has it that clerical staffs alter results, for gratification, from some students who can afford the pay.
The issue of school fees is another challenge students and prospective students battle with. The school fees of the Nigerian Law school in the just concluded session was N245,000, exclusive of N15,000 form for the application form. The fees of the incoming student has been reviewed upward, to N280,000, and the application form goes for N20,000.
In terms of infrastructure, the Kano campus of the institution suffers the most, where students are constantly exposedto snake bites, scorpion stings, poor electricity, lack of portable water, accommodation, good and functioning library, incondusive lecture halls for learning, lack of adequate medical facilities, furniture, lighting, banking facilities and lately, Boko Haram activities. In February this year, Boko Haram wrote the Kano campus an open letter and pasted it at the administrative building in Kano, in preparation of an imminent attack on the institution.
Among the staffs, the Council of Legal Education is seen as a rubber stamp of the Nigerian Law School. The Nigerian Law school is facing a downward move in fortunes. Something has to be done.
