Djtm: How old is he?Just 10 |
herald9: Wow...that's the highest point... and for the fact that He's addicted to games makes it worst...In the company of his close friends he is actually loud and I get calls from the after school that he was playing with friends when asked to be quiet But he doesn't make friends easily with people he doesn't know unlike his siblings In a crowd where he doesn't know the people,he is very miserable |
FKBZ: Am a confirmed introvert,no friends, can't start a conversation not to talk for keeping it.There are a lot of people like you It's just your nature but you can modify it and be a little more sociable It's actually fun to get to know people |
herald9: My dad ain't shy...I have a young son that is tending towards being an introvert Whenever we go out on a function,he can't wait to be back home to his video games He hates going out He is miserable when we are out and sometimes would cry because he wants to be home even when everyone is having fun He forces himself to hang with other kids at event but 30 minutes later,he retreats to find me and tell me he wants to go home It bothers me sometimes I am hoping he will outgrow it The only time he is excited to be out is if I am going to get him some new video game and itune cards and he can't wait to get to the store At school and after school he has some few bossom friends and sticks with them. |
FrancisTony: Public speaking- NoYou need to step out from your cocoon slowly How about job Or schooling You have to deal with the public How can you get ahead in your career without speaking publicly Determine to step out I don't expect you to turn to an extrovert but you should slowly begin to socialize You'll find out that it's not that hard Are there any introverts that overcame some challenges and are now sociable, maybe you should give tips on how you did it |
sisiafrika: I choose not to be labeled. I'm me.The answer is yes,it is just a description |
FrancisTony: Oh! Okay. Thanks.Wow Maybe you should practice before a mirror on how to greet people Actors do that Practice and see your facial expressions, that may help build confidence Then when you meet people attempt to be the first to say "hello, how are you",that will give you some control |
herald9: 100% introvert... extremely shy!Who is the shy one amongst your parents if any?,mom or dad ? Do you have other siblings? Are they equally shy or outgoing? |
Djtm: so many thoughts. But I believe it will just happen. No, the thought doesn't scare me.I met a couple this past weekend, first time I saw the hubby ,I had met the wife some other times, the man is very quiet and shy but the wife is a chatterbox that could talk up a storm, gesticulating with her hands ,very bubbly personality. But in the company of her husband, she is a little subdued You may end up with a talkative wife ![]() They say opposites attract Someone has to make some noise in that house She pulls you a little out of your shell and you help pull her into toning it down some. Good combination |
Why can't these people be peaceful Why go around causing problem everywhere they are found Muslim gang armed and attacking a police station and innocent citizens Sounds like Boko haram |
Dozens of people were killed and injured in a “terrorist attack” in China’s far western Xinjiang region, home to the mainly Muslim Uighur minority, state media reported Tuesday. “A gang armed with knives and axes attacked a police station and government offices” in Shache county early Monday, the official Xinhua news agency said, citing local police. “Dozens of Uighur and Han civilians were killed or injured” when some moved to a nearby township, attacking civilians and smashing vehicles, the report said. “Police officers at the scene shot dead dozens of members of the mob,” it added. The attack came on the eve of Muslims in China marking the Eid festival at the end of the fasting month of Ramadan. Dilxat Raxit, a spokesman for the exile World Uyghur Congress, an exile group, said in an e-mail that more than 20 Uighurs were shot dead by armed authorities while 10 were injured. A total of 13 Chinese security personnel were killed and injured, he said citing what he described as a local source, and about 67 people were arrested. Information in Xinjiang is often difficult to verify independently and it is not unusual for there to be a time lag in official media reporting violent incidents, especially when they involve clashes with police. In a bylined commentary Xinhua said that the attack was intended to “destabilise the region and spread fear and hatred”. “Police shooting dead of the mobsters was decisive and well justified,” it said. “The attack is against the spirit of Ramadan, which is about the practice of self-discipline and self-control,” it added. “The rioters were committing blasphemy against Islam, ‘the religion of peace’.” Beijing commonly blames separatists from Xinjiang for carrying out terror attacks which have grown in scale over the last year and spread outside the restive region. Among the most shocking incidents was a market attack in Xinjiang’s capital Urumqi in which 39 people were killed in May, and a deadly rampage by knife-wielding assailants at a train station at Kunming in China’s southwest in March, which left 29 dead. The violence has also included a fiery vehicle crash at Tiananmen Square, Beijing’s symbolic heart, in October. Rights groups accuse China’s government of cultural and religious repression they say fuels unrest in Xinjiang, which borders Central Asia. The government, however, argues it has boosted economic development in the area and that it upholds minority rights in a country with 56 recognised ethnic groups. The latest reported violence comes as China has launched a crackdown following the high-profile attacks, making a show of punishing offenders. Earlier this month courts in Xinjiang sentenced 32 people to prison terms ranging from four years to life for terrorism-related charges, state media reported. In June, authorities executed 13 people, and sent more than 100 to jail in a public mass sentencing on mostly terrorism-related offences in Xinjiang. Three people were also sentenced to death for the Tiananmen Square attack. In early July, government websites said China banned civil servants, students and teachers in Xinjiang region from taking part in Ramadan fasting, leading to condemnation from the World Uyghur Congress. China’s ruling Communist party is officially atheist, and for years has restricted fasting in the region. http://www.pmnewsnigeria.com/2014/07/29/dozens-killed-and-injured-in-terror-attack-in-chinas-xinjiang/ |
A doctor in charge of an Ebola treatment centre in Sierra Leone has become another victim of the deadly virus, the country’s health chief said Tuesday. “Dr Omar Khan died at 2:00 pm,” announced the head of Sierra Leone’s health services, Brima Kargbo. Khan was admitted last week into an anti-Ebola treatment facility run by the medical charity Doctors Without Borders (MSF) after testing positive for the virus. He had been in charge of the main Ebola treatment centre in Kenema, around 320 kilometres (200 miles) east of the capital Freetown. Three nurses at the facility also died of the disease. Health Minister Miatta Kargbo called Khan a “national hero”, praising his “tremendous sacrifice” in working to save the lives of others. According to the ministry’s latest figures released Tuesday, 489 cases of Ebola have been recorded in Sierra Leone and 159 people have died. Sierra Leone’s President Ernest Koroma has this week visited the towns of Kenema and Kailahun to check on the country’s response to the epidemic and meet with patients and medical personnel. Amid growing concern over the spread of the virus, activists have launched a campaign urging Koroma to cancel an August trip to a US-Africa summit in Washington to deal with the crisis. Ebola is a form of haemorrhagic fever which is deadly in up to 90 percent of cases. In addition to Sierra Leone, the virus has swept through Guinea and Liberia and hit Nigeria, leaving at least 670 people dead across the region. http://www.pmnewsnigeria.com/2014/07/29/head-doctor-at-s-leone-ebola-clinic-dies-of-virus/ |
elektra: I am an introvert. I enjoy my own company. I can enjoy sharing space with many people for a limited time, after a while I withdraw into my shell. Even at big family occasions, the first few hours with them I'll talk alot and then my mouth begins to physically hurt. People that don't know me wonder if something they said pissed me off, they have no clue in just resting my mouth. You can start small by attending events like birthdays Just convince yourself to go Find someone you are comfortable with and go with them Join a church single's ministry Allow people to introduce you to people One small step at a time |
